I got my first foul tasting cartomizer. Coil was centered.I pushed the filler down with a straw hoping it was just not making proper contact with the coil and tap/packed the cartomizer. This morning it seems to be doing the trick. The bitter/metallic/burn taste seems to have gone away but my sinuses are a little off so I my not be able to tell as I
can't taste anything. Hope I didn't burn out my vaping buds. If I did, at least I have some juices I don't care for that will go to good use :(

sinuses back....carto bad.....time to tinker

I have gone through 4 batteries, and I have one 650 left that is clearly dying because it is lasting, after a full charge, for less and less time.

I suspect most of them died from juice getting into the battery. One mega battery still charges, but it started flipping out and staying on randomly but now no amount of huffing and puffing will get it to work. So I assume juice got in, messed up the activator somehow. The one that is left seems to be sealed better, there is no hole in the middle of the post...So I bought a GoGo kit, we'll see how that goes. I still have all these stupid cartridges, most of which were partially dismantled in a futile attempt at cleaning them. I was unsuccessful getting the stuffing back in - actually it's possible to get the main wrapping back in using the straw method but getting the small inner wick thing to wrap around the post correctly is physically impossible (or at least highly improbable.) From what I've read, it seems you can just rinse out/boil the Gogo "carts," so I'm going to give that a go!

Just my 2 cents!

Yep cleaning them with a syringe flush is easiest and is the only way I've cleaned them. I've had a couple of batteries die but I've been using them for eight months and all batteries die sooner or later. I've never had a problem getting juice in them being as I always take the carto off and let it set a few minutes before using it. I've never had one of the cartos leak. You can use them with your Go-go if you get an adapter. The Go-go is a good PV and is my favorite manual, hopefully it will work good for you. You can get them here. Adapter - Go-go battery to 808D

I don't even bother cleaning them. I've had the same carto going for just over three weeks now and it's still working great. I think it's like $11 for five, so I'd rather just pony up the cash for a new box than go through the hassle of trying to clean em out. I haven't had any leaking issues either. I fill em up with a syringe and blow through them onto a paper towel before I put them back on. I've never used a manual battery, so maybe I'm just used to being careful when I refill and that cuts down on leakage.

you can just rinse out the echo carts too. No dismantling required. Dismantling is something I've found unnecessary. Yeah, if you can't seem figure out how to stay away from putting juice in a battery, buy something with a push button. And some towels....

It's been posted before but some may not have seen it. This kit is perfect for flushing any carto and I agree dismantling a carto has little benefit, in my experience anyway.

like the new avatar Errol! I found this baby in the baby care section near the pharmacy at wal mart:
Oral_Syringe_Bli_4ccb1f1e4ffc1.jpg

I used it to mix with until someone on the forums mentioned that standard cartos fit inside the white plastic adapter.
Echo carts are too big.
So I snipped the end off a carto condom, slipped it onto the adapter and fixed it with e-tape. The echo cart slips into the carto condom and it works! First time I ever bought something for vaping that I thought might come in handy and did. Good thing I'm a slob and don't throw stuff away although it took me a day or so to find the white adapter.
I use exact method described on the Smok Tek page.

Silly, u r NOT a slob! You are a very intelligent hoarder! I think with this vaping lifestyle we all must save every bit of every thing!
FYI I make it look less slobby by organizing same style items into baggies, jars, etc. keeping lids on and bags sealed. My cats live to walk across the big desk I use and sniff around, lol.

I like to vape while I tinker, not tinker in order to vape.

I love my Echo. I just need to find a manual battery....any suggestions? I am currently using the 1300ma with an Echomizer cart.
:offtopic:
Are you looking for a 808 pushbutton? There is an 808 ego out there as well as a few manual 808's
This is a good solution as well 510 to 901/808-D Shorty Adapter You can just buy an echo-e and use the adapter or a Kgo/Riva type battery. The adapter adds only about a mm length to 510 units

I just looked at D&B gold for the Igo....it's down. I had heard Bill isn't doing well. We should all wish him a speedy recovery.

That sucks about Bill. I bought my Echo from him and he replaced my busted charger for free with no questions asked. He's a stand up guy and I hope he's back at it soon!

And I believe they do make a manual Echo, so you could use the same charger and the Echomizers. Bill used to sell it, but I'm not sure where else you could find one.

EDIT: Ah ha! I knew they made it in manual. I found one here from this thread. Health Cabin used to offer them as well, but they're out of stock. I'm sure there are other vendors as well, but my search-fu is exhausted for the day. :p

That above is the echo-e (echo ego compatable) it's 510 threaded. But that's what adapters are for.

Aw, balls. There must be an 808 one somewhere. I'm interested in picking up just an manual battery down the road that I can use with the Echo charger I already have. I'll have to search around some more. :)

Apologize for sticking my nose in on something I'm not totally familiar with, that being the various combinations of Echo batteries and chargers. It seemed there were just too many combinations to keep track of. That said I would go with any reputable 808/901 threaded manual battery I could find at a decent price.

After doing some research it appears manual 808/901 batteries are on the endangered species list. You may be better off for quality and price to get a 510 battery and buy an adapter as Charlz suggested. Apologize for butting in but after my research I couldn't let my effort go to waste so I decided to finish what I had started. :)

FWIW you might consider a 808/901 pass through, they are inexpensive and iMO should be part of any ones vaping arsenal for a variety of reasons. 808D / 901 USB Manual PassThrough (Black) [808D / 901] - $9.99 : I have one just like this that I bought by mistake when I first started vaping, probably the best mistake I've made to date. :)
