At well over 2000 posts this is quite a long thread so instead of trying to search through it I thought I'd go away and ask :)
I have an Echo-E kit which is manual batteries at 1100mah with 510 threading and I have been experiencing battery contact issues - the only devices which reliably work on these batteries for me are echomizers and CE3s (if you can use the word "reliable" as far as CE3s are concerned). I've tried a number of EMDCCs on them and it's a hit and miss (mostly miss), Boge LR cartoes, no-name 510 cartos, LR attys, NR attys, Ego-T attys, you name it, they just won't fire and no amount of post pulling seems to help. I wonder if this is a wide spread issue and if there's a solution available, or I just happened to get a kit from a not-so-great batch and just have to stick with echomizers and get another 510 battery for all my other 510 devices?

attys and cartos lower than 2.8 ohms resistance would miss-fire or wouldn't fire at all on Echo-E batteries(They might fire when the Echo-E battery reaches a lower voltage after a few hours of using it but when it's fully charge I'm pretty sure it wouldn't). Get attys/cartos with 2.8 or higher resistance.

After a panicked few minutes when I thought I left my Echo on the bus yesterday, only to find it buried in the bottom of my cargo carrier, er, purse, I have decided I need a lanyard and case. Any suggestions? I found threads devoted to the subject, but know better now than to rely on recommendations for the Echo from folks who don't have the Echo. :)

Also, I seem to have a dead battery and a dead cartomizer - from different shipments but from the same supplier. I e-mailed the supplier on Friday and have not heard back :( ...
The battery worked fine for several days and then would not charge, though when I take it off the charger it flashes three times to indicate that it needs charging. I have not gotten juice in it; in fact, it is one of the drip-resistant batteries, not one with a hole in it. And I use the syringe method and am very careful about wiping off the Echo cartos. Is there anything else I can do to rescue it? I've tried directly via USB, swapped adapters and USB connectors with the other Echo kit, jiggled it (it's very loose, but all four batteries, adapters and chargers are universally loose and don't fit snugly on the power outlet or the USB port), and while sometimes it seems like there might be a teeny tiny blue spot of light on the end, it fades after a second.

The carto - I guess I just chalk that up to poor construction? Stuffing was pulled away from the sides when we first opened it. We filled it and get nothing when drawing. No vape at all, no throat hit...

Other than these issues (we have three batteries between hubby and I, which worries me no end, so I ordered two Bloogs with cartos, since both together were cheaper than another Echo battery, which seem to be out of stock everywhere anyway), we are highly satisfied with our Echo experience after a full week. I'm smoking two cigs a day; hubby has gone from two packs a day to five cigs. Wow.

aha, now suddenly it all clicks into place and starts making sense :) thanks for the explanation and I guess it's time for a new 510 battery :)

The battery is probably ok. You just need to raise the battery post a tiny bit. Just put something like a finger nail file and pry up each side just a tiny bit and then try it on the charger and I'm sure it will work.

If the cartos not dead, you can pack that stuffing on the cart back down with a thin straw so it taps down evenly, without hitting the center hole, for even pressure or by tapping it. Congrats on the tapering of the smokes. You are doing well. Don't forget to clean those battery and carto contacts. I'm assuming anything denatured like isopropyl is fine to have around. Acetone is "ok" to clean with too (not to rinse with) as long as you are careful to squeeze out any excess from the cotton ball and not to leave any behind in the cleaning process or it will find it's way onto paint and/or dissolve the glue.

Read a thread the other day about folks cleaning with vinegar. It works with a coffee pot, I don't see why it can't work with a carto as long as it's flushed out really well. I'll try one today so it will be dry and reprimed by the weekend. Something soft like apple cider vinegar.

As far as my echos, I have no problem using attys as low as 2.0. After having issue with a dc808, I tried a EMDCC on one of my echos that works with adapters and it worked fine. Go figure. I believe Swedishfish is an echo-e user (or she just likes the cartos) may be good to send her a PM.

Hi all! I'm looking for some Echo shopping advice. As y'all might recall, I bought two of these tanks to use on my Echo last week. They look totally hot, but the downside is they won't work. I take a pull off my Echo and it just keeps firing until it reaches the auto cut-off point. It was suggested a few pages back that either this is because of the 1.5 ohm DC cartos in the tanks or because of the suction.

Now V4L has replacement cartos available for these in higher ohms. My question is... Should I try it? There's 2.0 and 3.0 SC cartos. Do you think this would fix the problems with my tank? This thing looks seriously sexy on top of the Echo so I'd really like to use it, but I also don't want to blow more money on something that's just not going to work if it's the suction making them fail and not the low ohms.

Help me Echo users, you're my only hope!

These are not the cartos you're looking for! LOL. jk. Couldn't come up with a quick star wars quote. I've had no problem punching my own but issues because of the lack of the flange at the end. Get one of each. They should work.

I'd shoot them a question to make sure they are longer and with a flange

Yes that is the normal cutoff. Some of the duals cause it to stay on until cut off but it doesn't do that with the singles. I switched back to my single coil cartos which I have a big supply of anyways. I never have a problem with cutoff unless I have a weak carto. Five seconds is a long time to puff on one for me of course my lungs are shot from smoking for 50+ years. lol:2cool::vapor:

I'm glad you like it. There were a couple of guys in the beginning that took long drags like that and had issues with it but you are the first to mention it in a while. In the beginning I didn't think it had a cutoff at all but after he mentioned it I could make it cutoff after dragging as long as I could which I thought was about ten seconds. I timed it on a timer and sure enough it was five seconds. That is when I found out 5 seconds was a long time for me anyways.
At least it isn't like the old autos we had two years ago. You had to wait quite a while for it to fire again and they were real frustrating.

I like to toke mine like a cigar. I get the best flavor that way. A couple of tokes and even if I pull long enough to hit the cutoff, it's plenty. The good news is there is no waiting. By the time I exhale just a little it's ready to go again. I have gotten two weak cartos that had me hitting the cutoff more than others though. I've been trying to hit the cutoff as a way of clearing out condensation but these new ones I got in just hit too well.

It's funny you mention that it looks like a cigar. I usually take my little Volts when I go out, but I recently went to a house party and said, "Screw it. I'm just taking the Echo because it's less of a hassle." I thought people would think it looked ridiculous since my pals are all used to my analog clones, but everyone said the chrome-ish-ness of it was sweet. Now instead of people asking about my e-cig, they all want to know about my e-cigar! I was puffing away on a Volt the other day and everybody was sad because they wanted to see the e-cigar. I guess I just can't predict what's cool anymore now that I'm creeping up on 30.

That is the way I like to use mine especially when I'm driving or working with my hands.
:2cool::vapor:this little guy uses a manual.
