Did you have the driptip screwed on good? That is the only time mine have leaked is when the drip tip was unscrewed a little.

Yep.......it's as tight as a drum. I have learned to put it on a manual battery first for about 3 drags then put it on a sealed 1300 Echo. That will usually stop the leakage but I just can't trust them. Really disappointing

I've been using several different ones on my mods and I haven't noticed any leaking at all yet. I don't use them on my echos though so I haven't kept a close check on them getting any liquid on the post but no leakage that I'm aware of.

I thought I was going to order a couple more iTurbos but now I'm not. They leak like a sieve. Thank gawd for sealed batteries.

I have two now (the first one still works) neither leaks at all unless I fill it wrong (without a syringe normally gets something in that air hole)

Could just be lack of consistency though.

Hello Folks,

I ordered 5 DC Echo cartos from Cropduster tonight. Now I'm reading in the forum that there's a good chance they won't be any good. Do I understand right? I have the regular Echo - not the E. Thanks in advance.

There is also a good chance they will be fine. Some of mine were great from him, some needed fixing. If you fill one up and it gives you a problem (horrible taste or extra super harsh TH) stop using it and come ask for help, they are fixable. But please also let us know if they give you no problem at all. His stock is not the new new ones that are poorly made, but some may still have coil errors.

Put my last unused echo single coil carto in to use today. Inspected the coil from the top by placing it on top of the small led light on the back of my smart phone (best way i found). Coil looked perfect, but was not sure if the wire part from the coil leading to the connection were touching the inner tube or not, so i opened up the bottom of carto by: 1) removing the metal center post (While holding in the silicon piece) and then 2) removing the silicon piece. One of the wires was very close to the center tube, if not touching it so i tried to movie it a little with a tooth pick. Maybe it moved maybe it didn't but I was pretty confident was not actually touching the center tube wall. I reassembled being sure to slide the silicone in with one wire on the outside of it, and then slide the center post in with the second wire next to it.

I filled and waited and then the tested it out. 1st puff, great. 2nd, little harsh, 3rd, bad taste. So i opened the bottom back up to recheck everything. Nothing touching the walls of the center tube and coil still far away from the center tube wall on all sides. And there was no sign of charring anywhere. So I decided to push the coil up with a toothpick just in case that was the problem. It moved a tiny bit, but I was being cautious not to push too hard and dislodge the wick.

Reassembled just like i did the first time, tried it out and: 1st puff, great. 2nd great, 3rd, great.....puff 25, great!

Seems like the coil being too low and close to battery connection may be one of or the main issue in these cartos. If it is then the fix becomes that much more simple because it can be done without a full dissemble and would be quick and easy. I think i have been fixing the height issue just as a byproduct of centering my coil better on the ones i have fully taken apart.

Dual coils are a whole different animal for me, right now im just confused when looking at one after taking it apart. lol

I guess I'm really lucky but I've been using the Echo carto for almost a year and I've only had one DOA and that might have been a post problem. I haven't adjusted one coil or had one give me a burnt harsh taste other than when I run out of juice. The only problem I've had is them plugging after they need cleaning. I've only cleaned a couple just to see how they would work after cleaning. The rest have gone in a bag for future cleaning or hard times. I guess the only difference is I haven't bought any new ones other than some duals when they came out. I'm not as patient or as inquisitive as you guys I think I would have moved on to a different carto by now but I'm glad you have stuck around to keep me company. lol

I've stuck around because I was on board early on. My shipment from Tony arrived today. Have one DCC filled and one single coil. Both are great. I actually couldn't use the DCC on my stealth for very long. The dcc got hot enough to hurt my lips.
On another thread I was wondering if there would be an unregulated 4.2v auto 808 fat bat. This is it. It doesn't work well with anything but echomizers but I have enough batteries now not to care.

good to hear about your two new cartos, is the battery life for you on the stealth still less than best?

I think it's the nature of an unregulated battery. It's quite a bit less. I measured it today at 3.6v about 5 hours in and it promptly wimped out after that. It was dead in about 45 mins. I was on the DCC for a good 2 hours and swapped it out after measuring it. It will probably be my bar battery. Feels odd though having to bring a back up for an 1100 mah battery. It was great for awhile though....I was getting some brand new flavors on the Highbrow blend at the higher voltage with a DCC.

This can't be right, it took my 1.5 days to pound one of these into the ground on DCC and 2.0 IKV vision only :( 6-7 mls of juice = 1 day

something isn't right dude

Darn it! I just told Victoria I was keeping it too! Today was the first day I let it die all the way. Shouldn't matter but I'll try again tomorrow. You have the 1300? 200 mah shouldn't matter that much, though. I've always gotten a full day out of 1100mah.

took half the carto, but I was getting a little of that tell tale taste. So I was using the punch method to loosen and somehow the entire center post popped out the bottom, coil and all. So I managed to get it all back in the same way. This is good news for the rebuild. You can clean the coil and shove it back in from underneath. You need a tiny screwdriver to see all the wick goes it. Then you need to center the post as much as possible but when I screwed it on the battery, it popped back in place.
So we can do this now, without messing up the center air tube.

I'm thinking we can pop the whole thing out, put it in another base that we've taken the tube off and dry burn and put it back. So easy. Yes Cyrus, I know you want a video. I don't have the right equipment. I'll say it's tough a little making sure the base gets in without scrunching the silicon. But when it was centered right. It worked! I'm very happy, I've messed up a lot of air tubes so far. Now I won't.

Never did see if it was off center but there was a nice burn hole through the inner filler. I reversed it. It's golden now.

Still can't fix DCCs or stupid but it's a step forward for the single coils.
