So in this approach, you dissemble the carto to the point of just having the center tube with wick and coil in it on the base, then remove the coil and center post and silicone through the bottom, then clean/dry burn coil on a separate base as to not damage the original center tube. then you would re-insert the coil up through the bottom of the original base into the center tube, center, and place wick in proper place and then just reassemble like normal. Right? (or are you saying to take out the coil and put it back in without popping out the inner filler and all? That seems trickier/impossible but would be ideal i think.)

When you speak about the the base getting in while not scrunching the silicon, do you mean the metal center post or...??

Seems solid, as long as you don't damage the coil on the way back in.

I took out the filler, but if you can get just the coil out, that would be good. Still anytime it's off, I like to check the inner wrap for burn marks. And the filler would need to come out anyway to readjust the wick after.

The first time I tried getting the whole assembly in, the whole ting was just tight and the silicon didn't want to pop through and the center post just went in a crooked. I haven't had that problem again.

As a new development that I haven't brought up and I don't know why, I've noticed on single coils, I can just pop off the shell and the filler stays wrapped inside the shell. I can just fluff the wick and give the coil a quick peek and pop the whole thing back on. You have to watch that the inner filler stays put as it can catch on the tube sometimes. I now pop it off and drip a few drops on the inner filler when it's time for a top off. Not too much or it will over wick and drip.
If the filler is wet, it stays put more and sometimes you need to widen the hole with a screw driver so the tube slides back in easy.

This will also come in handy for when I decide to make my own coils and wicks.....filler stays in and the new assembly gets popped in the bottom.

Yes, ive noticed this too, the outer filler stays put if i use the wiggle method, which really has been working for me on first times....im actually out of non-taken apart cartos lol. I found holding right at the base of the carto and then bending like you are trying to break the carto works well. Never got it to work on any adapter.

Was concerned that if the outer filler was not close enough to the inner wrap that it would cause wicking issues, but I guess if you think about it, it should all expand to the right places after assembly, that carto is only so big.

Meanwhile i just took apart my iturbo, which i have not used at all lately due to leaks, and stacked a wick on top of the wick and coil in there, seems to be working for now, later ill re-wick it completely with a double wick.

when you do this, is the new double wick completely pinched by the silicon post seal? its pretty tight under those little notches. i've considered expanding them to this end, but I'm worried I'll just wreck it.

what's lesser about the older version(s)?

I'm worried about getting crap in that pinhole, so I'm not going to even mess with this anymore lol

I emailed Victoria early yesterday. Her answer was that she would contact the vendor and try to find out if there is anything that makes her stealths behave badly. I think I'm just going to "take one for the team" and get another sealed 1300 instead of shopping for another stealth. Really, if you think about it how stealthy can one be while vaping with a 1300 and an iTurbo? Sort of like trying to get a Great Dane through airport security in your carry-on luggage.

Uh oh you are sounding like me Cyrus. lol I should get my ego 1100 auto today!
Good, by the time Victoria gets my return, you'll have scored a few days on it. I really think I'll complete my echo collection with a chrome battery but the ego auto is still on the radar.

Cyrus, here's where I got my wire. PnJ Resources, LLC : Nichrome 80 I got one cut of 32, two of the 34 and another of the 36. The 34 is working out the best. It takes about 2 weeks for them to get it to you.

The availability of the Echos is getting a little tight. Cropduster is selling black auto 1300's in stealths only. Smoktek wants to put me on a waiting list for them and Victoria doesn't show any Echos at all except in kits. Shouldn't these people be restocked from the Chinese New Year by now?

Hi Lulu, I bought a Echo 1300 AUTO BATTERY BLACK 901 thread and USB CHARGER for ECH0 auto batteries from Cropduster just to see what you people are so fond of, charged it, tested it, and tried it once on an Echo DC and didn't like it. If you are interested I'll deliver it all to you for $15.75 or offer.

that's why I was asking, he told me that they aren't sealed yet, but they are coming. and I know from this thread that some people have gotten sealed individual batts. i think the running theory was that the kits are unsealed and the indy batts are sealed.

I was wondering if someone over there got hip on the new batch and increased that cut off for fiends like myself lol

I want a stainless 10 sec cut off too!
