It may be time to order more echomizers. Who would have ever thought the wire and wicks on a cartomizer would outlast the filler?

Ball park estimate of how many mL's when through that filler? And what signs of filler degeneration have you noticed? (possibly tough questions, esp the first one)

You'll know. You fill it up and it starts dripping way too soon or it's giving you dry flavorless hits and you take it apart to find the filler still has lots of juice in it and the wicks are new or freshly cleaned.

With 323 pages in this one thread. Would any one be interested in a Echo Social Group?
This would give a bit more elbow room. And make info easier find. Or ask the powers that be for a spot just for the Echo.
It's been done. I asked before. Since ego is branded in the minds of those looking to upgrade, that's why this spot was chosen.

I always thought it should have a spot on the 808 thread but I do see the reasoning for it. This IS the echo social group. We don't mind repeating ourselves if you have questions. The part where we figure out how to take them apart for cleaning and rebuilding is awesome. When I first ordered my echo, I was halfway through the reading and just bookmarked the last page I read every night until I caught up.

If you aren't going to rewire it, don't remove the shell. Simply put a bent paper clip in there and pry up the silicon rubber part that the base of the mouthpiece sits on. Pry it up and then you can stick the paperclip in the metal tube (what I've dubbed the nipple) and wiggle it up and out. It gets easier with time.

Then you can then dry burn. You can look down in to the coil so you can check your progress but avoid inhaling anything that comes off the coil during a dry burn. )You need a manual battery for a dry burn) When the coil glows red hot and there is no more smoke coming off the coil, the coil and wick are as good as new.
You can slip the silicon sleeve back into the mouth part and push it back into place. Just get it so it is just over the metal tube and use the mouth tip to push it in place when you screw it back on.
(Vision is Gotvapes brand name for various clearomizers, including the Ce4+)

That stem is not going anywhere. I've got the rubber piece out and I have a jewelers phillips screwdriver that fits exactly into the pipe but it ain't moving. Theres not enough room to get any leverage to move it around. ??

The metal stem stays put. What I'm picturing in my head is the rubber piece is out and you have a metal "stem" or post with slots with wicks sticking out either side. If you look down into the turbo, can you see the coil?

then you are good!

there is a piece of silicone under the coil. If you pushed too far with the philips head, you may have pushed the coil down so it contacts it. You can see there's quite a bit of room though between the top of the post and the coil. After you dry burn the coil and wick clean, just drip on the wicks at give it a moment.

If it's burning the rubber piece below, you'll know very quickly by the second/third puff. Treat your first few puffs like you would an atty when you are making sure the primer fluid is all gone and don't inhale unless it tastes clean. There is a definite difference between the taste of some left over crud on the coil and burning silicon. If it still tastes burnt, repeat the dry burn process. If it tastes like burning rubber, you may not want to fill it up. Without taking it apart to rebuild it may be a loss unless you can get in there with the bent paperclip and pry up the coil a little. It can be as slight a pull as wiggling up the center post to make contact with the battery.

Of course, I don't know how aggressive you were at trying to take the post out. If it wiggled at all, you my have damaged the base and you will want to leave it for awhile after you filled it to make sure nothing is leaking.

Sometimes, your first time doing these things has to be a learning experience.

I'm just posting this because I'm headed out for the night and won't be here. But I'm sure it will be a success!

I know this has been an inquirey before, but is there any chance of a home style video showing an echo single coil rebuild? Things are so much easier when I can actualy see it. Thanks everyone. Have a great weekend.

The Go-go rebuild thread is all I know about. Mowhawk also rebuilt echos using this method. Charles might chime in if there is any problem with this method.

Thanks txtumbleweed. I have seen that thread before, but was interested in how you fellows recently are takeing the internals out. I'm not mechanicaly minded or visionary but I can duplicate what I see. If anyone does do a vid or knows of one where the echomizer is actualy taken appart, many thanks in advance. Thanks again Mr. Tumbleweed, as always you are fast to respond, and your info is always respected and appreciated.

I've never taken any of them apart before and unless we come on hard times and I can't buy them I doubt if I ever will. I am saving them though just in case.:2cool:

One word.............hemostat. Instead of a paperclip to get the top of the pipe off for a dry burn (which scratched up the first tank I did something fierce on the inside) get a pair or two of surgical hemostats. The ones that worked for me are 5" long from the top of the finger holes to the bottom of the instrument. And let me tell you when you are done with the dry burn the taste of your juice will be much better than when the tank was new. Luv it!

Taking them apart for cleaning and rebuilding has been something I've been meaning to start a thread about for awhile. I don't have the ability to video tape but I may be able to take pictures of the process. It's very easy.

My semester is almost over, so I will have more time to work on my rebuilding skills, I'm great at getting it apart and taking the coil out, re-coiling and reinserting with 100% success has been more like a 40% success rate for me, so i'm not able to put up a well versed vid yet. But if there is nothing up in about 2-3 weeks I'll post whatever I have mastered up until then.

@Charlz are you still detaching the center tube or just inserting from the bottom?

I detach for the rebuild. The less stress I can put on the tube the better. It sucks having to wait two days for the silicone to cure fully but it's easier to get the coil just right without the tube on. I got tired of playing operation as you put it and then having to get under the tube to space the coils evenly. I also discovered that it can create a bend in the lead wire by going from the bottom which, if it's not perfectly straight, makes it glow too close to the silicone.

If I am just cleaning and I can make sure the coil is nowhere near the tube, I don't bother messing with the tube
