Thanks for the replies. What seems to be the favorite carto for the echo? Single coil? dual Coil? or the Vision? What is the attraction of the vision, esp. since it hold less and is more expensive. I couldnt find any comparisons.
thanks again.

@Charlz - or whoever cares to chime in.

In a post a few pages back you said "But I no longer use DCCs or anything below 2.4 ohms on my echos".

I love my Echo but wanted something without a LED and more color options so I bought a KGO. Lots of people recommended boge lr cartos to pair with it so that's what I got. Unfortunately I find I get a sore throat from it and my juices don't taste as good - sometimes kind of burnt tasting. Is that because of the LR? I've tried a few other brands, resistances and tanks but nothing so far has been right. I just ordered some 3.0 ohm cartos and am hoping that will solve the problem. Is that what you would (or anyone else) recommend or something else? I've tried and don't like the vision clearos (the colored ones) on it either. I've also got some fluxo's and CE2+ ordered. I'm in way over my head!

I wish I had put the money towards another echo. I now have 2 pretty red and 1 chrome/gold KGO's, and a VV IPro just collecting dust. Actually I have spent a small fortune on so much equipment and accessories that I don't use. Most of it isn't labeled and I'm so frustrated because it's just gotten into a big mixed up mess! Most the time I don't know the brand, resistance, dc, sc, tanks, etc., of what I'm using. Sometimes I feel like throwing it all away and giving up! But I've made it 5 months so I'm not going to do that. I really should have this figured out by now!

I find myself mainly reaching for my original echo and echomizers. I'm glad to see Cropduster now has one without an LED. Wish it came in something besides black but maybe that would be my best bet. Could someone come over and just set this all up for me!?!?!?!?!?

NWVapors has other than black (stainless steel & chrome): Echo replacement battery (automatic) 808D threads - $19.95 - and I know you probably don't care ;), echomizers to match Echo Cartomizer for 808D Batteries (regular Echo) - $3.00

About the rest of your unused gear, you could give ECF's classified subforum a try :)

@Clover - Thanks for the info! Do you know what they mean about a single LED near the end? Mine are big blue led's at the end. Are these different? I bought mine from Cropduster about 2-3 months ago.

"This battery has a single LED near the end of it and requires the new Echo charger. The new Echo charger output is 5v at 300mA while the old charger is 5v 150mA."

Those are the echomizers I was talking about and use. I just don't remember if I have dc or sc but that's not hard to figure out.

All the vendors except for Smoktek have the stealth with the pinhole light now so feel free to order from Bill at NW, Cropduster or Mountain vapor. Boge cartos just do that. They are hard to keep wet and give a burnt taste very easy. They work better in tanks, sometimes
I think you will like your ce2 fluxos. They work well, make a nice warm and flavorful vape and if they start tasting burnt, you can dry burn them and they are good to go again. Just make sure you don't dry burn your first few times with a freshly charged kgo or you may pop the coil. I like the 2.4-2.8 ohms on the echo and the kgo but the 3.0 ohm ones still work well. Feel free to ask question when you get them. Pop by the 808 clearomizer roundup thread. Cyrus Vape is using fluxos almost exclusively now and I'm sure he'd love to help you out too.

Thanks for the advise. I have both of those resistances coming so I should be good then. I think I was figuring it out but I've made so many mistakes I started worrying today after making another big order last night. Unfortunately I did order boge again thinking it must have been me doing something wrong. I kept trying them over and over and wondering why do so many people love these so much! But at least they are 3 ohm and I also threw in some Kangers to try.

I've never dry burned but I will give that a try also.

Thanks again!

So last night I have some friends over, and I hand out some Echos to them with my own DIY mix of- Black licorice/black fire(liquid smoke)/ horehound. Well we all had fun. One friend in paticular went NUTS for the Echo. I ended up sending him home with one Echo, seven cartos, one charger, 30ml of my mix, one syring, and the info on the e-cigarette forum. He is working for Rockwell Collens, so he knows alot of stuff, and absorbs info like a spong. I figure he will be on this forum soon. It was so much fun seeing his reaction to the Echo, and how amazed he was at its quality, and useabuility. I think we have another Echo monster on our hands. Echo's Rock!

And mookie yes I think its a LR/HV thing. You're watts are too high (too much power) which makes more heat and more throat/lung irritation. When I use my puck (5.5 volts off the charger) with 2.7ish ohm fluxos and I hit it hard, I pay the price!

And this is just me being a paternalistic almost doctor, but let me tell ya'll, go with the coolest vape you can tolerate and still enjoy. It's not just combustion of tobacco that causes lung cancer, COPD, etc. Its also HEAT and irritation. Stay safe!

Lots of cool vaping stuff seems to center around the rochester area. Pick me up on the way, Cyrus.

Yayyy - vaping party  Maybe we could get Zen to show us some of his Zenesis pv's!

The Upstate Area group is planning a vaping meet May12th. Unfortunately I can't make it and missed the one before that. Hopefully it won't be too long before another one. The group sounds like a lot of fun and I would have loved to meet some locals to compare equipment with and see everyone's toys!

Anywho......thanks for the earlier advise. I used an adapter to connect my KGO with a std res carto and it's very satisfying! Much smoother on my throat.

I have a question, I have a friend of mine that recently converted to e-cig's, what is the easiest way for him to fill the echos without all the drainage out of the bottom? I sent him some supplies that included a syringe. Thanks for the help

A syringe is the best way especially on a new carto. You can drip it in along the side but being as a new carto holds about 3.4 ml it takes awhile. If you get a drip out the bottom let it set a few minutes on a paper towell.

Does anyone sell a cone for the 1300 mAh echo battery?

Not really. You have a couple of options. Take the guts out of and echomizer. It will fit snuggly over the metal band. It will also leave scratch marks if you aren't careful. I have a big enough collection of batteries that I don't care. I only used two batteries for this method. You may have to find a way to punch a hole in the shell for airflow. Punch it about 1/2 inch from the base. It's easier to do it with the guts in so it holds it's shape better. You can hide the hole underneath.

Method two is one I recently came up with. Find an appropriate sized grommet and fit it at the base of the carto. Slide the shell over the top so it fits snug around the grommet. Leave room for the vent holes at the bottom of the cartomizer. You can make your own grommet if you have a 3ml syringe. Take the rubber piece off the plunger. Stretch the hollow end over the mouth end of a dead carto. Place the rubber side down on a hard surface and strike the thread end with hammer until it forces it through the plunger. The ridges around the plunger hold the shell in place better.

remember that link I left you to the ohms calculator? Find out what your preferred wattage is. The Kgo runs from 4.2v down to 3.7v on average. The kgo is nice in that is still holds it's voltage well under load. So if we take an average of say 3.9 v and a standard res carto of 3.0 your gonna find you and I have the same wattage preference. of about 5 watts. On a typical 3.7 volt battery you'll want about 2.5 ohms. Electrical & Electronics, Ohm's Law, Formulas & Equations

On juice like a lemon/lime I actually like it closer to 5 watts or even less if the vapor is good. I like my occasional menthol vape cooler too. On my tobacco and especially my pipe vapes I like them closer to 6 watts.
