I did try, Fabsta, but it wasn't making a good connection (or perhaps there was some other reason; I ain't no techie). I couldn't get it to work. Perhaps someone else would be more successful. I've had little incentive to fiddle with these on other batteries (other than that voltage-lowering technique with the eGo)*. The Elite carto and batt work so well together.

* FYI: I don't know whether it is some weird anomaly, but the two cartos that I've used on the eGo with an adapter no longer work on the Elite battery.

I think that you may have to raise the center post on the carto just a smidge. After using the adapter you've probably pushed the center pin in a bit so it won't make contact. These cartos have a floating center pin. Be gentle and pry it up ever so slightly working your way around the post. Too much and you may pop it right out! You can use a small screw driver or tweezers.

Thanks, Fabsta! Makes sense. Whenever I feel courageous, I may try it ... probably with a tuckered out carto.

TY for posting this! I wish this thing was around when i first started, it sounds great!!!!!

so sorry to hear about your wife =[
hope she feels better soon!!!!
It is great, Razz! Try the cartos with an adapter on that Riva you're planning to get.

As for my wife, I don't want to derail this thread, but I'll just say that she is now in a hospice and it is a matter of days before it is all over. Interacting with others on ECF and vaping Guides about my hobby helps sustain me through this period. Thank you so much for your concern!

Don, THANK YOU so much for the great review of the Elite 808! Your review prompted me to order a kit Monday, and I had it by Wednesday. Cigeasy ships SO quickly!

I've been through several different models trying to find the one best suited to me. My first PV was a cheapo 401, then I tried out a manual 501, then I went with a greensmoke (great vapor on the cartridges but way too expensive for what you get), then a Cigeasy Elegant.

I've been using the Elegant off and on ever since I got it early this year, but it still left something to be desired. I found that cartomizers from V4L worked best with it, producing the most vapor of any I'd tried so farr, but no matter the nic mg, the throat hit was just too harsh... made me cough every time! And this, coming from a menthol lights smoker! For the heavy TH, the vapor production left something to be desired. It just wasn't the exact right fit for me, no matter what flavor and cartomizer I tried. Plus, call me old fashioned, but I just never did like the fat-batt. No matter which product I tried, I found myself eventually going back to the analogs.

Today is the first day that I've had a chance to try out my new Elite 808, and it's exactly what I was looking for! The throat hit is not too harsh, but it's definitely there, just mellow enough to be comfortable. The vapor from this thing is AMAZING! We'll see when I'm getting close to draining the cartomizer what the difference in performance is, but so far I'm tickled pink! I always found myself biting on the regular cartridges and cartomizers and leaving tooth marks on them, and the cigarillo type of mouthpiece is exactly what I needed to solve this problem. Not to mention that the weight of the Elite is just perfect in my hand. This is, IMHO, the perfect balance between analogs and a fat-batt PV. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!

I'm an ego girl but I've been looking to try a slender - just for fun ;) this one may be the one I try!

although the lack of being able to buy extra batteries is a big problem...
I assume that the inability to purchase spare batteries is temporary. FYI: After two months, both batteries that came with my kit still are functioning perfectly ... and I use this baby a lot!

And you also can use those wonderful Elite cartomizers on other batteries, including 510-compatibles (e.g., your eGo) with an inexpensive 510-to-808/901 adapter (e.g., $1.50 from Good Prophets).
