Funny, for us non hobbyists a mod and attys are just tools. I just have one dying mod for backup and a NIB second tank. Mods last me a year or three, same with tanks. I used the same carto tank for 4.5yrs straight, lol.

The money I've saved from not smoking just stays in the bank. For everyone's use now. That was some of the weight I carried while smoking.

Do any of you buy more than 2 pieces of the same gear?
    I really like it but I have 2 already but I want a 3rd?

A spare is reasonable but, a spare for a spare?

    Frequently :)

As is said of various "royal" families, an heir and a spare. If it's a device you really like, just keep in mind that next year (next month?) they'll all be gone, never to be duplicated.

You guys are most definitely enablers ;)

It's in the terms of use

After my last years stock up failed I found some mods that I felt would make it thru the long haul and after getting a Battlestar and a Charon 218, I really liked them both so I got a 2nd one of each and then I found some RTAS and RDTAS I really liked and then I didn't have a gold mod but I did have a new gold tank so I bought a 3rd Charon Gold/Flaming Skull and my Gold Crius RDTA looks great on it, So yes I do believe in back-ups for my back-ups especially since we do not know what the future of vaping holds.
Ps. Now I have a Blue Zeus ordered and no Blue mod to match it, what's a girl to do but go shopping, maybe a 3rd Battlestar or a Charon TS and I really need to up my mech count.

If you were spending several thousand dollars a year to smoke like I was may be the money is there but I'm too much of a cheapskate to overbuy for every day use. My style is too keep the bare minimum of equipment in service. I only mix with one flavor and only use one set up. In a world without threats of government interference I'd have three mods, three atomizers and one bottle of nic. But then there is the stockpile where I have 10 mods and 10 rda's new in the box, plus a decade or more of nic in the freezer, for peace of mind. The stockpile cost $650, less than three months of smoking. These days my vape costs so little out of pocket it's free.

    Hmmm.
    Interesting thread.

I run at the moment x4 minikin v2
    Boxer 180w
    Rx 200s
    Two dna svk squonks
    Svk mech squonk
    Two mechs
    Wismec cricket

    Etc.

    Too many atty’s to list

And no, I am not done yet, each was bought because I enjoyed it or wanted to try it.

So far my minikin w trolls rule the roost, but the svk squonks are very close second.

It is cheaper than smoking and way more fun.

The only mod I wanted duplicates of is the Pico 75w because that's my favorite. All my other mods are unique in their own way and I think I have doubles of a few because of good prices. Tanks are a bit different for me, when I find something that works I make sure I have plenty of them. Not to concerned about new stuff because I found my vaping preference and happy where I'm at.

I've just begun trying to get a stockpile together. I finally found what makes me happy for day to day vaping. There will be duplicate mods as the budget allows. Already have 5 Nanos. Only need a couple more before they're discontinued. If I love the Zeus there will be half a dozen of those as well. Getting a few Therion backups will take longer.

    Yep.

Some items just work and I wanted to make sure I had enough before the items disappeared - either no longer made or banned. If I like something, I buy at least two.

    5 Reos (2 Grand, 3 P67)
    3 Coppervape squonkers
    2 BF Stumpys
    4 Hadalys (2 clone, 2 authentic)
    5 Origen Little 16 clones
5 Able mod clones (2 brass, 2 copper, 1 stainless)

The rest of my rotation is ever changing - random new stuff to keep things interesting.

Yes. The are two kind of mods I use. I have 5 of the one kind and 7 or 8 of the other. All of them are single 18650 mechanical squonkers that will last a lifetime, and I have spare parts for both types too. I have no interest in "upgrading" from here.

I have 14 never used A7 mini's in the zombie box besides the three that I've been using for the past 5 years or so.
12 never used J-tanks besides the three that I've been using for the past 6 years or so.
12 bricks of 3 ohm Boge cartos.
7 never used HCigar Caravela clones plus the 2 that I use every day.
And of course, how could I not have a fist full of Provari's?!?
