Yes, I know that I stated that I would never start a thread again. I just thought there is no reason to be a part of this forum without saying something. Here it is: There is just no excitement any more for me in vaping. I enjoy vaping but for me it has just become another addiction.

I loved smoking but who ever got excited about lightning up a cigarette ( not analog). I know I never have. Now, I just fill up my carto with the one juice that I vape and there is nothing else. I vape only Vermillion's Kentucky Premium Blend and that is it period. I could not care less when the mailman arrives. It was great in the beginning to get that new juice or whatever and you just could not wait to get it going.

In my case all those waits ended the same way, total outrage of another horrible juice. I cannot tell you how much money I wasted on juice. I try something new here and there and guess what, I have another disgusting tasting juice that just drives me insane. The last juice I tossed away my money on was Butterscotch from Clouds of Vapor. Just a god awful juice that tasted like anything other than Butterscotch. This is the first juice that I actually just tossed in the garbage.

Maybe I will get just a little excited about a Provari, but that is probably it. I would just like to know if this has happened to anyone else out there?

Ps...Please, no recommendations on a juice because I would probably just hate it and waste my money. Also, I have noticed that there is going to be some type of regulating going on with e-liquids. I think they should also demand that these juice makers start making juice that actually comes close to their description of it. Now that would be a noble idea!!!!

I am actually a little sad that I have found my "delivery system". Told hubby I want the Provari Mini in blue for Christmas, but that's about it.

As to juices, between the outrageous markup and never finding anything amazing, I moved to making my own over 6 months ago, and couldn't be happier. With your seemingly "A" type personality and sense of humor, I think you could get amped on making your own. It is very rewarding to make something delicious to one's personal standards and tastes, and knowing exactly what's in your concoction is comforting.

Come join us on the DIY forum, we'll be glad to help ;)

So just like cigs? Yes, I find the same thing. That edgy, doing something dangerous feeling fades and leaves you with the new habit. At least we can take consolation in the fact that it's far healthier than the old one, if not precisely optimal.

I've had the same issues with juice, and several (many) are steeping for a re-try in a few weeks. Many of what I tried flat out disgusted me (really, you call that lemon-lime? I call that Chemical Overtone).

I also went to DIY when I realized I dislike overly-sweet vapes and that most of the ones available are overly sweet to my taste. I'm currently vaping 7% menthol, 0.4% dark chocolate, 0.2% cinnamon in 80/20 PG/VG. It works for me, YMMV.

I guess I'm in the same boat. Content with my pv, like the couple e-liquids I vape.

Frank, I have a few friends that have been using the same type pv for over a year and one e-liquid with no plans to change either one any time soon. I keep asking them if they want to try out other liquids and they both say the same thing- I vaped the same brand of cigarettes for 20 years. I guess it works for them.

I wish I was better at DIY but I'm happy to make a few and buy a few.

I respect what you are saying but don´t think it is apropriate to post it here it is best for you to keep that for yourself. Imagine someone who is trying to get off analogs and searching through the new and possible life saving world of vaping, and that person comes across a thread like this; he or she would feel discouraged and continue to smoke. Also remeber that the vast majority started vaping as a HEALTHIER way of smoking not feeling happy about buying new stuff, I mean its not like we are getting Ferraris and feeling that excitement,. The excitement is just feeling better and live healthier.

Everyone's taste is different. I started with one juice vendor in Feb 2011 and stayed with him a long time, still buy a couple of things from him from time to time and love them. Tried branching out and didn't find much that didn't turn me off. I'm not fond of fruit flavors as none of them taste quite 'right' to me and banana or cocoanut are both nonstarters for me, individually or in a mix.

I finally bit the bullet and started learning to DIY. Still learning, but things are getting easier as I go. I am a good plain cook, not a fancy cook and I'm finding the same in DIY. The simpler I make it the better I like it. Much as I love some of the juices I make, for me there is no such thing as an all day vape. I vape half a dozen different flavors a day.

I didn't start vaping for the excitement. I started vaping in protest of the exorbitant cost of cigs. Then I started to notice how much better I felt. Then I found different devices. Then I came here and found even more to read and try. I can't say the thrill is gone, and I still enjoy stalking the mail person ;)

I gotta disagree with you here. Any new hobby will become rote after a while, this one no different than any other. I'm sure lots of people feel the same way and it's good to talk about that.

Let's face it, we stuffed cigarettes into our mouths and, most of the time, it was rank habit. There was no real enjoyment there, expect for a few "special" ones per day.

Your PV becomes like that over time as well. At first, it's new, fun, and exciting. Later on, not so much. There's more thought and more maintenance involved with your PV than there was with a pack. You have to charge it, juice it up, change cartos (if you use them) more often than you did packs. Many of us can't run out to the store if our PV dies, so backups are necessary.

Potentially, you can switch liquids for a new flavor if the old one starts to bore you, save that the OP already expressed displeasure with most purchases. That leads to the concept of DIY, where you mix the flavors you like (and discover that most of what you mix is, frankly, not that great at first).

You could continue to upgrade to the latest and greatest, but that's unrealistically expensive for a lot of people. Myself included. Fortunatey I'm quite content with what I have, and only plan to purchase a second Vision Spinner once somebody (anybody!) has the 1,300 mAh back in stock.

You can remind yourself of the very real health benefits, but that does pall after a while. You get bored repeating things to yourself.

Joining ECF certainly helps, I find it interesting to interact here.

And if anybody has any other ideas for the OP as to how to spice up her adventures in vaping (that doesn't involve an e-liquid called 50 Milligrams of Gray), have at it.

I gotta disagree. Everyone's opinion is valid. I may feel the same as OP, but I appreciate the honesty and a glimpse from their point of view. I do have to agree abut juices. I've hated most juices I've ordered. The one I like is hard to get, unfortunately. OP, if you're interested in trying out juices, have you considered DIY? I plan on doing this when I get a little extra money to order the stuff to do it with.

The excitement for me has faded a bit, finally found my hardware of choice. I'm actually happy to have finally stopped spending money on bits n bobs and to start seeing some savings. Sure, there's one last thing on my want-list but it's purely a luxury (pipe). For juice, well, I have gotten into DIY. I've made several ADVs and would be perfectly content with just those, but I am enjoying my weekly mix session. Sure, vaping isn't the same as when I started, but again: I'm happy to have settled and start seeing some actual savings. I didn't start vaping for adventure. I'm even more happy that I'm still not smoking, so no matter how dull it gets I'll never stop.

Frank,

I never liked juice from any vendor but it kept me from returning to analogs.

But I found the solution in making my own.

And guess what - I do like plain unflavored juice, can't screw with that and no waiting for stipping.

We already told him to try unflavored. Forget what happened with that. Poor Frank has a hard time finding a juice he likes. Glad to hear he hasn't given up.

Im sorry if it came up the wrong way. I do understand what he is saying and a respect it as well. But whe must think that this forum is in my opinion a great source for bringing new people into vaping. Also I don´t think that it is correct to enter the world of vaping for the cool gadgets and shinny PV´s, if that is what got you in the first place, then of COURSE you´ll feel bored in a while.

with all due respect, I disagree,,,,,,

first because everyone is entitled to their opinion.

second, because you have the right to say it, even if I hate what you say,,,,,,,,I'll defend your right to say it (unless it's against the forum rules or something)

and third, because newbies don't need to think quitting IN ANY MANNER, is easy, fast, and without bumps in the road.

I happen to believe that quitting THIS way is the easiest way,,,,,,,,,,someone else may think quitting with gum is the easiest way,,,,,,,,shouldn't people thinking about quitting have BOTH our opinions to make an informed decision??

I agree. Is just that for me is like when you are at yahoo questions or whatever, and there are always people that their answers are "I don´t know" or things like that, if you don´t know don´t answer. For me this is the same, if you lost the excitement what are you doing in a e-cig forum.

Obviously looking for some help/advice. It's soo hard to get one's thoughts out correctly in written form, emoticons just don't cut it. This forum is a place where ALL can come for help/advice, in whatever manner or comment they choose. Judging others is really very unproductive. Help if you can, if not...

I also lost the urge to "find that juice" Spent a large amount with almost everything ending up in the trash.
After doing DIY and learning that I suck at that I asked myself why am I hunting "that juice"
Then setteld on 3 basic flavors and that did it for me. As a smoker I only changed because of the cost but stuck to whatever was the cheepest. Now with 3 flavors I am happy.
I do get excited for new gear if I get some hehe.
