These were the first rba's that I tried. In a way I am happy for that because I learned every modification that I used to make my aga t2 vape like a monster without a third of the headaches. LMAO!

I replaced the bottom insulator with a #60 o-ring to try and keep it alive after I had the same problem with it shredding. Aga came in the mail the next day, mini went in the garbage and I moved on.

These things work great. No leaks or hot spots. I use the Petar k method with the ss wicks. I'm using ceramic wicks in them now.

You can fix it if you're willing to file or sand it down a little. There's two things to check for. Take the screw out and with a new grommet push it in finger tight and check to see if it's centered in the grommet and how much it's down from the outer casing. If it isn't centered, file or sand off what ever is needed to keep it about 1/2 mm from sides of casing, and file or sand the bottom until it's almost flush with the bottom of the casing.

When you put it back together don't even finger tighten. Just run the nut down until it's at the deck and stop. You don't want the nut pulling the bottom up more than where the grommet has stopped it. Then mount it on your EA, check if the nut has been pushed up from the deck any. If it's just a hair that's what you want, but if it's quite a bit then file or sand the bottom some more. You shouldn't have to go past flush with the outer casing though.

Edit: Doesn't your Prov have a spring loaded center pin? If so, it probably won't cause you any problems even if you don't file. Just thought I'd mention that.

Just received my two. Gotta say that Fasttech is the fastest Chinese supplier I've used (and I've used them a fair bit). Always a painless exercise dealing with them.
The Genny's are pretty much what I expected. Cheaply made with a couple of irritations. One of the tanks is slightly cracked near the bottom. Strange, as the crack doesn't seem to reach the edge, nor does it appear to go right through the plastic. The airhole doesn't line up when fully tightening the top cap. The oring allows you to line it up whilst not feeling too loose, but you are only using about 1.5 revolutions of thread. Will probably sand the caps down a bit to make good. The installed coil is useless. Not even gonna attempt to fire one up as is. The wicks, however, look pretty good. They supply an extra wick and about a meter of wire too (looks like it might be 28 awg). I'll have a go at coiling one later today with some 30 awg.
So far, not sure if I'd recommend one of these. I know an Aga-T is 3 times the price, but it is, at least, 3 times the quality.
Really just fancied something a bit smaller to put on my slimmer mods (a mechanical mainly).
Sitll waiting on the mini-did clones from VB which are a similar price - but don't include free shipping and take AGES to arrive by China Post. Will be interesting to compare the two.

If you are a DIYer, and happen to have a 12ml syringe, you can make a new clear tube for this geny. As long as you cut the tube exactly the same length as the chrome tube, it will fit perfectly.

Thanks.. I ordered some insulators from surevapes but they state they they are for the top, not the bottom. I think the ones I have aren't the right size. I'll maybe mess with it later.. the problem happened with I took it off the provari and put it on the EA. I think when I tightened the EA, it pushed up the center post. my center post isnt quite 100% straight. it hits the walls of the atomizer body. so i put some electrical tape over it to remedy this. in doing so, it made my bottom insulator more snug. you might want to try this to keep your bottom insulator in place. my top and bottom insulators are damn near identical, so the ones you got from surevape swill probably work fine.
as far as securing the pos post goes, i get that baby as snug as possible. once the pole is inserted and the bottom insulator is in the place i want it (a mini screwdriver or toothpick helps tuck the insulator in), i screw down the first pos pole nut tightly. the nut ends up squishing the top insulator quite a bit. im not sur eif this is optimum or not but it works for me. i also make sure the top two nuts are tight as well. im happy with my cheap dud. ive had the same coil and wick in there since november, still champing away.

If you are running into shorts you can try what I do. It doesn't help with the center post being pushed past the grommet, but I take Teflon tape and wrap the center post as thick as I can around it so it doesn't touch the center tube and adds a bit of resistance to pushing the center pin up.

The reason these bottom insulators fail isn't from vaping. It's from repeated attaching and removing the RBA from the PV. Every time you screw it down, you are fatiguing it more. They are cheaply made, and don't take much abuse. Fortunately, I have several PVs, and once an RBA is attached to one of them, that's where it stays. Rarely are they separated. Usually, I don't even remove the RBA to rewick or recoil. It can be done while attached to the PV. I've yet to have a bottom insulator fail or short out.

I take mine off and on all the time since I only have 1 mech mod and don't have problems with it. How you install it on effects it too. If you try to push it in when it is on the post already you will mess up the grommet. You have to fully seat the grommet on the base then put the center post on so that the post can expand the grommet as it fully seats. I size it to my mod before putting the locking screw on so I get the exact center post alignment so it doesn't move at all even if I take it off and put it back on.

My unit is the gen 1 from COV and the grommet from surevapes worked on the bottom. All these appear to be the same thing so it should work just fine.

update... I see what I did now. I tightened it too tight on the EA. The EA has an adjustable center pin and if I keep tightening it, the pin will push up into the 510 connection and shred the insulator. I just did the same thing with my new Pheonix So, it's my fault, not the did clone, which I'm glad.. now I can use them, I just have to be careful not to screw it on too tight on the EA. I hope I can save my pheonix.. I just got it today and was absolutely loving it!

another update... can't save the pheonix... I tried to push the posts back down but the Provari reads OP. I just ordered 2 more phoenix's from reosmod.. $4 each! The micro screw driver that comes with it is really nice.

and another update... got the fasttech genny back up and running!

Update. The tank actually wasn't cracked. It was a sliver of metal stuck to the inside. Recoiled the wick. Vaping like a champ. Really easy to set these up. The included wicks really are pretty good.

Yea.. I'm really happy to have mine up and vaping again and to have figured out why it was shorting. I love my original dids but they are tricky to set up due to the tiny screw on the pos post. This clone has a fatter screw that is easier to grip with my finger tips and screw down. Hmmm... I wonder if I could use one of these screws on my did? Might have to give it a try. Mine didn't come with anything other than the one wick that was in it and that's what I'm using.

Ahhh I hate I messed up my $4 phoenix! that would have been fun to play with this weekend.. now I have to wait for more to come in LOL

I got a great reply from fasttech, seems the distributor has abandoned the coils and wicks, they ask for understanding as they didn't pull the picture until after my order.

99% probably didn't notice it in the ad you had to scroll through all 19 pics or so;-- it was the last picture. No harm, they were nice about it and are giving me a v-max to replace it.. I said, "you dont have to do that' and they were like-- 'well its ok thats how we do it. Now capt crunch doesnt cut the roof of my mouth either.

Annoying that it's not a standard 510 drip tip. It's a tiny bit smaller.
