I've spent a lot of money with fasttech and been perfectly happy with them. The problem I just ran into is US Customs. My order was for about $170 and now I just got a pink slip in the mail with a customs charge of over 20%! That's $37.15 to be exact.

First off, fasttech changed my shipper from ePacket to Hong Kong Post parcel (in an actual cardboard box!) without consulting me. It still only took them 2 days to get it across the Pacific. But then, instead of good old San Francisco or Los Angeles ISC, it went to Chicago. Dirty, grimy, lazy Chicago. And there in Chicago it sat. And sat. And sat. 11 days with no movement. Then, glory of glories, it starts moving last night. Now I'm the proud owner of... an unexpected bill.

I know what you're thinking, it had some highly-taxed stuff, right? 3 atomizers, some aluminum project boxes, a lint remover, soldering and Dremel tool pieces, and some fake iPhone charging cables. No juice, no batteries, no knives. What in the hell warrants that stuff getting a 20% surcharge? Isn't the limit $200? Is that $200 per package or per year? This box is really chapping my ......

I thought it was $200 as well, so might want to question it.

But should of split the order up, no reason to do such a large order in 1 package, when get free shipping on orders over $20 ;)

Actually there is no exact limit. there is a consideration of intended personal use. To much and they may consider it for resale. Also several large packages may get you listed in the system and continued imports flag you. Once flagged you may have a hard time bringing anything in without it being double checked and or Taxed.

Lastly, if a Box was required for safe shipping and they did not charge you additional freight, they have that right without discussing. Shipping is shipping. Changing couriers would have been due to over weight package.

    It sux, but it's life.

Dozens upon dozens of post in these threads about breaking up orders into smaller groups.

Question... I haven't ordered from FT before, though I have from a place in Hong Kong, e5cigs. My question is, if an item on FT says "ships next day", approx how long would it take? My order from HK took just about exactly 3 wks, initially via Singapore Post; just wondering if that was fairly standard, especially for these items that apparently are in stock and ready to ship.

    Thx

If you're looking for a Kayfun/Russian, check out Angel Cigs. They have a great looking Kayfun 3.1 that ships from USA for $25. I recently ordered a Taifun GT from there. Ordered on a Sunday, in my mailbox on Thursday.....and they take PayPal too.

As far as FT is concerned, you just never know how the shipping is going to work out. I ordered 2 Kayfun lites (the $14 ones with the colored tanks) and the listing said it would ship in 5 days......and it shipped out in two. I expect they'll show up in Chicago this weekend some time and be here early next week. It could just be luck, but my last order from for the Fogger V4 was in my mailbox in 9 days.

I think they go by "value" not exactly what you paid. $170 is close enough I'd expect them to pile some dooty on it.

I figured I was in the clear since I've had customs open and inspect a $199.39 envelope from Fasttech without any charges or to-do. A $187 envelope sailed through as well. Those went through San Francisco ISC, though, and turnaround was 1 day, not 11.

Yea, Chicago seems to be a Thorn in everyone's side for the past year. Even NY is a Breeze in comparison and I used to dread my packages going there.

Just remember USPS screws up everything fasttech can get it to customs in a day customs takes 3-4 an USPS takes another 3-4

My low-value packages get through Chicago fairly quickly, usually a day or two. Sitting at Shenzhen is a pain, evidently because it takes longer for them to fill the Chicago container. Four days, last time.

So FT set a new personal record with shipping time via China Post. Sent on 4/24 and arrived today, although I did make the order on the 10th. Still pretty decent, all things considered.

Nothing fancy to slow it down, just some clear PMMA Kayfun parts, silicone mod holder and some drip tips.

Got my Paps clone yesterday. So far I'm really liking this thing. The switch is fantastic. Being able to fine tune how far the button is recessed is pretty nice, granted it's a very small amount of adjustment but I find it makes a difference on hitting it with my pinky knuckle. The adjustable top pin is fairly tight which I thought was a nuisance however it turns out that it holds it's position nicely when changing batteries. That's a plus to me. The locking ring being not reverse threaded is a bummer, but I'll get used to that soon enough. Meaning, I have to be careful how tight I unlock it because it can bind a bit making it tricky not to unscrew the button to lock it. The thing is you really don't need to lock the button with it being flush/recessed unless you're out and about.

The threading is decent. It doesn't really have any scratchy spots when threading things together, but when I cleaned the threads with a Q-tip there were a couple of spots that grabbed some cotton fluff from the Q-tip. It's acceptable to me.

Now I just need to make this thing waaaayyyy less shiny. This my first brass tubed mod and I wasn't expecting it to be this shiny. I'll see how the patina dulls it out, but I might brush the tube and then let it patina from there. Not sure yet.

It seems to be doing well in the voltage drop department, but I haven't put a meter to it yet. It hits as well or better than my Nemmy clone and Vela clone, so that makes me happy.

For the 2 days I've used it, I can say it was a good ~$15 spent.

Thanks, I ended up ordering from eBay; I had been looking at the $21.86 Russian 91% on FT, but it didn't have any of the usual extras; I ordered a Tobeco Kayfun Lite Plus, with both tanks (SS & clear), standard 510 drip tip, all the extra parts, and it ships from NJ, free shipping, and it was just $32.95, so I figured for all those extras and getting it quicker, it was well worth $11 more.

I've been following all the comments about shipments from FT and what happens when they get here; I've only ordered from the far east once, from e5cigs in HK; shipping was $5 for registered airmail, it shipped within 2 days of ordering, and got here in exactly 3 wks, entering via Opa-Locka, FL to get to me here, near Atlanta; the customs sticker on the back said "gadgets" which I found amusing, since there was an eGo Twist battery in there, along with some actual gadgets. :D All in all I was satisfied with that. 3 wks from Hong Kong -- and this week, I waited NINE DAYS to get a stupid pkt of ekowool from Bradenton, FL, near Tampa. They (USPS) must be catching some rays or something down there, cause they sure ain't doing their jobs.

I've actually been waiting on all my $13 valued gifts from ft to flag me and start getting import duties on my orders.

I am quoting this from another forum.

Well hello everyone! Fasttech Vapor will be up in running within the next 7 days! China prices here in the US! No need to wait for long shipping periods. Receive your shipments within 1-5 days. SAME PRICE AS CHINA!!!!! FastttechUS.com FastechVapor.com

Now, I have asked if they are in fact the exact same FT that is in China offering the exact same items. If it is true, this will be great news. :)

It could be just another company using the name and trying to play on words. I will update when I find out for certain.

Scam senses tingling. If this indeed was "genuine" Fasttech, why haven't I read about it on Fasttech?

    FastTtechUS? Fastech?!
