It's an APV...it needs constant supply of voltage to "stay on" only when the fire button is pressed does it open the MOSFET regulators and push the PWM to the head...its VERY stressful on buck/boost circuits to turn em on and off like that

It has an oled screen which means it has "intelligence" you have to click it to turn it on...then it goes into "standby" until you fire it
Just like a Vamo...5 rapid clicks to turn on, the "system on" scrolls by then you vape...take the battery out and you will have to 5 rapid clicks again to turn it on...

Unless it's some new type of critter...I haven't been really keeping track of the new hotness out there...my Vamo V3 is still trucking

Guess I will check out PBusardo's video

I can't think of a singe one of my mechs that would be easily converted to fire all the time.

I just bought the #IMPROOF King Mod. :D $19.72
Brass mod, Copper contacts, adjustable 510, reverse threading on the locking ring...what's not to like?
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1/10006089/1698800-king-ii-style-mechanical-mod

Edit: As far as I can tell, the only difference is that this one does not have the #IMPROOF engraving on the 18350 tube, isn't a limited edition (no serial #'s) and doesn't cost $230.00.

But, he's reviewing the mod, not the controller head, right? Could there be a difference in how they work? Come on, SOMEBODY'S got to be the guinea pig!

OK. It's been a long time coming because I'm so bad about taking pictures (because I take such BAD pictures). But, I finally got a picture of my little KSD Novice and the M11 on the U-stand I got from FT a few weeks ago. For comparison, I included an Itazte VV V3 and my stealth vape for work (650mah eGo with a dripping atty).

And the SVD is a solid performer. Innokin knows how to make a tank, that works.

Innokin is very, very dependable right out of the box. I'm going to sound like a fan-old-lady, but I have an iTaste, the SVD, a passle of MVP2s and a VTR. Pair them with Kayfuns and a Taifun (a GS for the VTR) and you've got great set-ups.

I think the only reason I seem to be collecting mech mods is that there is nothing to fool around with or DIY or modify or fix on any of the Innokin stuff. I seem to need the challenge of making things work:facepalm:. Ergo mech mods.

That's how I feel about my ProVari and Kayfun combo; I use it 99% of the time. I bought a Hammer clone and I'm always fiddling with it, stretching springs, tightening contacts, etc. I don't really like it. I guess that's why I ordered four more mech mods in the last week. Now I just need to order some drippers and I really can be in my own private hell.

I'm looking at the Taifuns at FT. There are 2 GTs and 2 GSs. Does anyone have any experience with any of these and know which is better?

Taifun GS - $21.00
Taifun GS - $25.39
Taifun GT - $19.65
Taifun GT - $22.42

I have this Taifun GS: $25.39 Taifun GS Style Rebuildable Atomizer (2.7-3.0mL) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping and it is perfect with my VTR. Top notch little guy. I've been using it constantly since it arrived in mid-March and can't say enough good about it. I had been looking for an RBA of Kayfun quality for the VTR, and the GS is definitely it.

I have a Kmax, and that certainly does look like the business end. So far, after about 5 months use (alternating with my SVD) I've been generally happy with it.

But it does seem to run hot. Have to set it about 2 watts lower than my SVD with the same topper. Otherwise, nice. Menus similar to Zmax style.

Yes, the mech would have to have it's switch locked on.

@DancingHeretik - I have 5 and 3/4 of the $19.65 Taifun GT Style Rebuildable Atomizer (5.0mL) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping and I have been very happy with them. The first one came with the brass deck which was replaced quickly and the last one came with the chamber cap threads chamfered away = no threads - replacement cap is in the post right now so I will shortly have 6x.
'They say' .. that the machining on the USD25 one is better, I must have received the pick of the crop (luck of the draw applies as always here)because I can't find a thing to criticise on mine and I had high expectations, they vape like a dream with 1.8ohm FT coils/wicks.

I also have this one and the only machining issues are the channel lock marks I put on it trying to get it off my Astro top cap.

Doh:facepalm:, ANY li-ion battery will tend to explode if over charged. That is why chargers are supposed to cut out at a pre-set voltage. i.e. 4.2v for single cell 3.7v batteries.:)

Always purchase decent quality chargers. Avoid 99 cent specials.
Yeah, but EVOD/eGo-style batts are supposed to have built in protection from that, so I appreciate the warning - I still love Twists, and actually had a couple of the non-Kanger EVOD ones in my cart until now.

I hope you find something good for a decent price. I've had terrible luck with all the ego style batteries I've gotten from FT and Deal Extreme. I've never tried the spinner style just standard fixed voltage. None lasted more than a month, and that was with light use. I wish I had a good recommendation ya man, but I've given up on cheap egos and just pay extra for my little 450 mah egos from a place that I trust.

I've gotten a couple of really good, non-branded eGo-C Twists from Health Cabin through a co-op, that ended up being pretty inexpensive. No problems, lasted well over a year of every-day use.
