Was going to do the box for packing, till I found out it was $1 for each item, really you want a $1 for throwing a drip tip in a box? I'll take the gamble with the bubble envelope instead.

Pretty much over my FT tantrum now.
Built a Quad Coil in my Gold Omega for giggles.................OMG.............Can't take this one out in public
Also customized the Top Cap Nano to fit my FT Kayfun Lite PMMA. turned out nice and holds slightly more than a standard Nano tank.

I'll get the SS Omega heading back to FT tomorrow. Might have a replacement in a month or two.

Just a heads up for anyone thinking of ordering the 18350 Black Copper Stingray: DON'T

I figured, how bad could it be? Well, it's bad. It's longer than the other ones I have, the etching is terrible (which wasn't a big deal because I was already planning on stripping the paint), but the biggest problem is the button! It's SUCH a PIECE OF CRAP. I can't even begin to describe how bad it is.

That one isn't a Poldiac.

And yeah, I did get one of the Poldiacs, the all SS one. Like everyone else, I had to re-glue the magnets. Once I did that, it was ok. But I'm not much of a fan of the design after all. No matter what atty I stuck on it, I just didn't quite like the look and feel of it. It's also rather tall in 18350 mode, which was a deal breaker on its own.

No, it's not the same. When they first posted the photos, it was of that switch, but then they updated the photos with the newer one. It's not the same as the other Stingray switches though. It's taller/longer. If the throw could be adjusted to a decent SHORT length, it might be useable, but the way it all fits together, it's just a steaming turd.

The threads for the button/tube are also really, really terrible.

IMO, there are better mods for the price, or less. I wasn't too thrilled with the Poldiac. The Dingo on the other hand was a really sweet side firing mod. I wish that would have been cloned (properly).

Me balking at $30 for a mech pretty much rules out anything but clones. I don't like bottom fire.
I've got a lathe and the tap and die, maybe I won't waste my time with buying mechs (the Bolt from FT is obviously bad and I don't think they have any others) and make my own.

No. but the mixed Poldiac can be made into a nice mod with some workarounds, according to some of the FT discussions. Have you looked at the Brass GP Paps clone? Now that is a nice mod that won't break the bank. Same with the #IMPROOF King II brass clone (going by the pictures).

The Atomixani 69 mod is a nice looking side firing 1:1 clone, but it also has issues (so did the original).

Why don't you like bottom fire? Some of them have a really light short throw, and can be activated by a light press of the pinky finger...

The EA clones are also side firing mods.

Side pressure on my knuckles hurts.

The funky way to hold bottom buttons to get an index finger straight onto the button is not natural (and as you move down in fingers it gets more and more to that side pressure.

I'm not sure how I'd like a low side button. Probably wouldn't be so bad but wouldn't fit in a stand.

From what I've read, that one is pretty good...once you re-glue the button and magnets, and replace and modify the pins with either copper wire or graphite rod. I've had it in and out of my cart a dozen times, but never pulled the trigger.

I have several mechs on order, along with a VV kick, and my plan is to try and find something that comes close to my ProVari vaping experience. The mech I have is not a good one until it gets some serious modifications, and I don't care for the form factor as much as I thought I would (Hammer clone).

I know everyone and their brother has a nemmy, but I had to order it after meeting two people in one week who had them.
In my opinion, those four mods (two of them unproven) appear to be the cream of the crop on FT, in looks as well as function...but like everything else from China, QC isn't always up to par, so I expect to be sending at least one of the four back for a replacement.
