Everything in my order was destined to ship either the 10th or the 15th. Because I had items that wouldn't ship until the 15th, the whole order is held until. That's ok.

But with that stupid ? beside the 'Restocking' message for everything that was supposed to ship on the 10th, I thought I'd cancel the order and re-order things separately based on the ETA.

That was a big mistake. I'll now be waiting MUCH longer for everything. Only 1 item is ready to ship, while 1 will be ready the 17th, and the other on the 19th. And that's if I'm lucky. Also, one item I cancelled I didn't bother to re-order because it's not due to ship until the 26th.

Word of advice: Place separate orders based on ETAs and hope for the best.

Initial thoughts on the S5, ERHMAGERD this thing is NICE! Quite bright, gets warm pretty fast on high (at 2100mA sure...2800 would get hotter faster), finish is impeccable...now for the M11 mechanical 14500 mod...very very very displeased and underwhelmed...yes, the thing is small but I think they are cutting the battery tubes too short, I have a button top IMR in this and both the top and the bottom are backed out about 2 threads just to fit the battery, if the tube was 1/8" longer it would fit PERFECTLY, but no..to dang short...just like my Caravela tubes...just 3-5mm and all the problems would disappear! The threads are atrocious, took paper towel and alot of NOALOX to make em smooth up, was still pulling flakes of either flaking chrome plating or just chips from bad machining!

I mean it was only $6.14...but dangit...is there NO QC at all! Would you open a ticket...either I just return it...or ship it back and get another one...I think they need to get their manufacturer to cut the battery tube about 1/8" longer! (this would solve the problem for almost ALL IMR's (still think protected wouldn't fit well) The thing vapes like a beast at 1.98Ω. I purpose built the head on a cheapie GS-H2 clearomizer to test it out (no low ohms here!)...but this is the 2nd mod I have found that the battery tube is just a teeeeny bit too short, and it's not the batteries because they work fine in other rigs (same batts work flawlessly in the Kamry eCab V2, and in a Sipik SK-68 flashlight) [possibly due to them having springs rather than a "mechanical" push button]

Would you open a ticket and at least bring the "short battery tube" to their attention

Guy in this video even mentions it

The third member of my Kayfun clan arrived yesterday and I've been playing with it in my spare moments ever since. It's this one: $14.39 Kayfun Lite Styled Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5mL) - clear tank section at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping. I bought it as a back up and out of pure curiosity - would it be very different from my first two? How does the quality compare?

I now have: the Kayfun 3.1, $21.54 SvoeMesto Kayfun v3.1 ES Styled Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5mL) - stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping and the renamed Russian 91, $26.70 Russian 91% Styled Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5mL) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

as well as the PMMA spare parts set: $5.12 Spare Parts for Kayfun v3.1 Atomizer - PMMA at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I'll try to add pictures at some point to this mini-review, as it will make things a lot easier to visualize. :)

First, there are definite differences in the quality of the design and manufacture. The $14 one is chunkier, more angular, the logo is more in-your-face. The top cap is solid, not hollowed out, the drip tip base is shorter and the driptip opening is smaller, so that fewer other drip tips will fit it.

The 3.1 and the Russian 99 both function well on my MVPs, while the $14 won't connect. It's fine on my Bagua clone (and looks great, because the brushing is the same) and on the SVD, however.

The profile and finish of the $14 Lite are different - it is brushed rather than shiny, with no beveling and a flatter driptip with a smaller hole. Parts seem to be interchangeable: the PMMA top looks really nice on it and functions perfectly well, if not better than the original solid steel top cap. Just don't try to fill it from the bottom screw with anything other than the original top part on it or the liquid will just pour out the drip tip onto your lap...ask me how I know

The $14 Lite has no airflow control, which may not be a problem for anyone. Personally, I like it on the 3.1 and the Russian - a quarter of a turn made any whistling disappear. But I think that the lack of airflow control and the solid top cap with its smaller airhole make the vaping tighter, less smooth and less carefree. The nicest, and best in my opinion is the 3.1, followed closely by the Russian. This doesn't mean that the $14 Lite is unpleasant - it's ok, just not quite as great. It doesn't do quite as much justice to the Kayfun feeling.

The $14 doesn't come with any replacement parts or screwdrivers - I have lots by now, so that's not a problem for me. I haven't tried rebuilding it yet, and it arrived very clean and immediately useable. I haven't noticed any leaking or 0-ring issues, other than when I tried to fill it with the PMMA top and a chaos clone drip tip on it.

All in all, it is quite OK and inexpensive, well machined although chunky, and not as aerodynamic as the others. If I didn't have the others, I would be more impressed. Quite a worthwhile experiment.

How is FT doing with batteries?

Either loose batteries or ego style. Are these getting here (US)?

Thx

I placed an order that included loose batteries January 14, it shipped from fasttech January 20, it hit the counter at MPC PMIH (KLIA) January 29, it left MPC PMIH (KLIA) on February 2, it's still listed as Transporting.

My M11 has no gap at the top and a small gap at the bottom. I use an O-ring on the button to seal the gap, which works quite well and prevents the button from spinning when using the lock ring.

Anyone order from FT after their CNY vacation and received it yet?

IS FT back to business as usual?

I've been waiting to order a couple more SS Vamo V5s but want to know if all's back to smooth sailing first.

I used Vamo V2s almost exclusively for many months and luv em but got a V5 and it'll be V5s from now on :)

Can you do me a favor and measure the tube length..when I get home I will measure with my digital calipers I got in today :D

What kind of battery do you use? Button or flat?

For those of you complaining about slow shipping, my December 25th order just hit the USA customs. Shipped January 7, no batteries of any kind.

Place an order and fugetaboutit. Word of advise, if it ships Swedish Post expect a long wait. BTW, I didn't choose SW post, maybe it was the knives.

I just hope it clears US customs. :nun:

The warnings for shipping options of loose batteries are known by many, even those that have never placed an order with FastTech. IMO, it would be a big favor to all their customers if similar warnings were given for ordering knives. I honestly thought the order was a goner for the last couple of weeks, it moved so slow. I've ordered from VaporBank via Swedish post and it took half the time.

The tube measures 58mm. The battery is from Madvapes, EH IMR 14500 button top.

batterytube_zps3ecde13f.jpg

Yup..just measured mine as well 58.11mm, much obliged sir!

I still think 60-61mm would fix all the problems, flush fit, mine just doesn't sit flush...hmmm
and yeah...I need a MUCH better battery...but I don't run my coils lower than 2.0Ω..but still a ****fire = no no no no no
