i had a kayfun that i used kanthal in,,took it apart and cleaned it but left the wick in,built it the next day and it had the funniest copper-ish taste !!

tore it apart to look at the coil, the coil has rusted and i didn't notice that when i put it back together

i gotta wonder just how many people are aware that kanthal will and does rust ?!?!??!

Interesting
Specifications
Corrosion, Rusting, and Oxidation

Resistance wire does not easily rust or oxidize, even in extreme environments. Kanthal is often chosen for its excellent oxidation resistance. It can be exposed to sulfuric compounds and not corrode quickly, making it well suited for corrosion resistance in hot states. Nichrome has similar properties but oxidizes more quickly than Kanthal in sulfur-containing atmospheres.

Are you buying direct or pieces from a B&M?

I suppose you were generalizing to my post. I am fairly familiar with my Devices and their construction. :)
My Kayfuns, Ithakas and Genesis tanks are all SS:2cool:
I also know for a fact All my Kanger tanks are Chromed Brass:laugh:

$2.05 GS-H2 E-Cigarette Round Mouth Atomizer (1.5mL) - red / 2.4ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Keyman gave me three of these GS-H2 clearos to test. Nice size for those light vapers or an occasional desert flavor. Cleaned a red one and loaded it with my DIY strawberry. I know better than to expect a great coil but this one would go from burnt to flooded and back inside of a minute. Tried more and less wick and all the usual fiddling but never could get it to sing. Put an authentic Evod coil in it and was in bottom coil heaven. Sent that one and a bottomless bottle of that strawberry juice home with a friend. He had just surprised us the day before when he stopped smoking and got a starter kit at the local B&M all on his own. Gave him an RGM2 with juicy peach I was carrying the night before but that's another post.

Mixed up some grape juice and filled up a purple GS-H2. That coil acted flaky too so it and the last green clearo got Kangered. Loaded that green one with my tobacco ADV. Those two found a good home with a friend who owns a salon and likes to vape a little indoors between clients. They looked nice on their 650 batteries and fit perfectly in a small ego case.

Have never been keen on the idea of the plastic center post and would prefer plated brass :D. We'll see how these GS-H2's do over time. Was kind of surprised to see any issues with them at all after reading the numerous rave reviews on FastTech's site. I really don't expect much for $2 but I would plan on replacing the coils if you get any of these.

GrimmGreen did a vid that had those in it. He said he was given them and they were best bcc he's used in a long time. That was before the Nautilus and such came out. But he liked those more than iclears and others at the time.

Missed that vid. The GS-H2 will never replace a T3S or RGM2 for me but may offer good value overall. It uses an o-ring on the base that seals in a plastic bore. No leaks yet but wonder how durable that is going to be. I have read comments that with the plastic stem there is less condensation. I dunno but do know I don't like to see that condensation. I prefer a translucent tank but folks do seem atracted to the fun colors. Got some of the lighted ones coming and looking forward to seeing them.

Why would FT let me order the Squape that is now discontinued just a week ago? They are going to make me wait for it to arrive, then wait for more replacement bases to arrive before shipping it out.

Kinda stinks.

FT stopped accepting orders for the Squape when they realized their stock was defective. You must have ordered just before that. So, while FT waits for a product that doesn't short out, you wait too. Or you cancel your order.

At least they are not knowingly sending you a defective item.

Wait or cancel, the choice is yours.:)

I really don't care what someones opinion on the Ultrafires is. I've been using fire brand batteries for well over 4 years now and as long as you don't abuse them they will be fine. I have used Trustfire IMRs in my Ego V6 as well and they have out performed the AWs (I had 2 sets) by far.

Its in the mail. Nothing I can do now really

Sorry, I didn't realize that it had already been shipped. I agree - it stinks knowing that you are probably getting a thing that shorts out. Could you open a ticket now to have them send you a base as soon as they get them in? They know it's a general problem that all Squape purchasers are going through.

Hope you get a good answer from them asap.:)

I can guarantee they'll handle like they did the brass decks of the taifun GT, which I also had to deal with. Fortunately I have 2 TGTs, a kayfun from HCigar, and an Aqua. I have another TGT on the way (new version) as well so it's not a big deal.

at the time of the TGT debacle, I kind of needed it. The squape was just something I wanted to try out because I was curious. Chances are I won't like it as much as my current attys and I'll just sell it soon after.

Damn, I just got a reply from FT re: my RMA request for a broken iTaste SVD. They're willing to replace the part but want me to cover shipping both ways because it's been more than 6 months since it shipped.

The caveat: I ordered back when everything was being delayed 1-2 months and only received the unit in December. I responded with this and asked them to meet me halfway (I think it's reasonable that I pay for shipping to their Miami center). We'll see if they oblige.

Idk if anyone has posted a review on this one yet so here goes:
King Style Chromed Brass Mechanical (FASTTECH SKU 1516400) 18500 + kick mode (18650 no kick)

Snapshot_20140317_5_zpsc92f6dd5.jpg

Fasttech has stepped up this mods switch. It now has reverse threads on the locking ring. Unlike the HCIGAR one that I own.
Short throw and very smoothe. Not all brass like the HGIGAR. Here is a picture of the switch:
1516400-3-thumb.jpg

It hits really hard, no difference in the brass HCIGAR one I got. The only real differences are the brass pins instead of silver ones, the reverse threading on the locking ring, and the bushing holding the switch together. If you like the King Style Mod you will really like this one.

Depth 23mm
Height 105mm
Width 23mm
Weight 152g

*Order Date 2/3/14
Received 3/17/14 :glare:
