Can anyone tell me where to go on fasttech to buy a gift certificate? I've been trying to buy a couple of RTA's, and neither will allow the use of Pay Pal. I went into my account setting and it had a link to gift certificates, but that is only to show you what gift certificates you have, not to purchase one.

No, the workaround is that you order items for the equivalent amount, pay for the order, then cancel it. They will then convert the money to a gift certificate, and you can use that to order what you really want.

@Oregon Linda : Buying gift certificates works too - only problem with that is they come in fixed dollar amounts, so buying and returning might bring you closer to what you wanna spend.

On the "My Account" page on the left, under "Settings" is "Buy Gift Certificates." See if this link works: Login: FastTech

They must be at the same place all the Chinese postal workers are at. My order has been sitting at the shenzhen postal facility for two weeks now. FT shipped it sept 2 :|
I have had alot of packages that go through there, never get scanned out, they shipped but never updated until they hit customs,so your's is probably moving and just didn't get scanned.

I hope so. It is just a few mechs and rdas, so no batteries to slow boat.
Unfortunately, I have had friends spend years in China so the obsession with saving face worries me a bit. You have to remember that officially, there are NO problems in China. None. Air pollution? Nah, that's just fog.
I have a feeling that the official word is it got shipped, while the reality is a massive game of buttthumbs.
I feel like I'm back in the 90s... Waiting 4-6 weeks for delivery.

My experience purchasing stuff from FT for over 2 years is that it always takes 3 weeks.
Since you made your purchase on Sept 02 your goods should be in your mailbox
sometime this week.
The package sits in China PO (Hong Kong) for a week, takes a week to get to US Customs
where it sits for another week then if you're lucky and USPS doesn't lose it
you get it in another week. My problem when one happens is usually the fault
of USPS... civil servants.

Now if you put your order in during or just prior to one of the many
Chinese holidays it may take another week or two so always check
their party calendar when you order.

May the gods of patience be with you.

I've been pretty lucky with them over the last year.Usually 2 weeks or less, most in 6-8 days, and i had 1 in my mailbox 4 days after i ordered it.

Yup, lucky dog. Then again you're in Ohio which puts you so much closer to
that dreaded NY customs facility and their partner USPS sorting facility.

In reading this and several other forums I've found the consensus is about 3 weeks from order
to mailbox, excepting a few lucky dogs here and there, usually closer to NY than Miami where I'm at.

OTOH, their return office is in Miami so the couple of times
I got defective items (which they're pretty good about dealing with)
the return gets to "them" in a day, gets credited in another and the replacement sent out right away.
(and for some reason only takes 2 weeks instead of 3 to arrive)

Yea, what's up with that? Isn't China off our west coast?
No wonder it takes so long!

LOL! Yea, they take the long way around.
Somebody needs to find a shorter way to the West Indies..
I read recently that the big company named after a tribe of athletic women
or a large river in S. America started making deliveries via drones.
Most of those drones are made in China...Ya think?
Nah, probably not cool with Homeland..or the FDA.

My orders usually come through SF or LA. Most of the time they get here in 7 days - faster than shipping from the US east coast. Shipping doesn't get updated until after it's received. Once a pkg was delayed in LA customs for 3 weeks but there was no notification. Shipping still wasn't updated until it said "delivered" and I had gotten the pkg several days earlier. Another time the mailperson delivered to the wrong apt.

So they do know the short way!
I've had stuff delayed in NY customs for 3 weeks too.
It seems none of the packages from China get scanned after they leave
the post customs USPS sorting facility until they get to the
infamous Opa-Locka sorting facility where they might scan it..they might not.
It's always a pleasant surprise when I get the email that it's "out for delivery"!
That's if the carrier delivers to the correct addy.

The problem isn't FT..

I know we've lost 2/3rds of our post offices and the mail carrier is different constantly. It's been a mess.

Just a few weeks ago I made the point while complaining at my local PO
that it used to be that my carrier knew me by name and if you put my name and zip code
on a letter and mailed it I'd receive it even if you left out the addy.
Now-a-days it's a different mail person every other day so half the time the carriers don't
know the route or associate a person with their address..

The reason I was there was that a package that was *not delivered* was scanned as delivered.
I was watching the mail lady from the window and she put no package in the box...
The mail lady screamed at me, implied I was lying, and the package must have been stolen
out of the mailbox...her supervisor stood by watching her scream at me and said nothing.
She said to me; "You're not my boss!"
I started to remind her that she's a civil servant and I'm a citizen but decided to
go home and get in touch with USPS Consumer Affairs instead.

Two days later the package appeared in the mailbox...

But she's right. USPS is privately owned.
