I just got a Roku. Compared to Netflix it looks like I could make that pay, I'll have to look into it.

Gotta say.. look at amazon prime over the course of two months. It seems everything is the same. Avengers came out I believe the same day on both prime and netflix. Their older shows differ a bit. My 15 year old likes the chick flicks on netflix while my 12 year old is still at that pre teen stage and likes Amazon better.

I think netflix is about 10-15 bucks a month.. compared to Amazon at 7 bucks a month... then you can get a free e book a month and 2 day shipping on "prime" items. The only thing is you will pay sales tax on everything since they have a warehouse in almost every state.

Even then you should be reporting sales/use tax on your state return every year if you don't pay sales tax on an item. :)

I've heard some people say the Free 2nd day shipping pays for Prime, and the free Kindle books and the movies are the frosting on the cake. For me the movies pay for the Prime. And, the Free 2nd day shipping is the bonus. I own two Kindles and haven't downloaded a free book using my Prime monthly allowance, yet. We use the Kindle Fire HD the same way people use their i-Pads .... mostly games. My Kindle Touch is collecting dust.

We had to fires got them prior to the HD coming out. Wife got the prime account and I just made do. I am more of a sci fi vs her and "best seller" list. Both fire's died. I got a transformer pad and she an ipad (well my youngest confiscated it from her) now she just reads all books on her phone. The shipping is the icing for us.

I despise going to a store to buy something.. well unless it is a bar or restaurant.

Ohh I should add how this is to fasttech.. I saw those little android plug in thingie they are selling but can't find any reviews on them. I am wondering how they compare to Roku, Google TV and the like.

I hate to think how much I owe Minnesota. I'm well versed on the topic of sales tax. Amazon is not billing us up here. Sales tax is over 7% in Hennepin County because of the Twins Stadium. No sales tax on clothing here. People that visit Mall of America love that.

This FastTech shipping fiasco is ridiculous. I placed an order and got the "recommended" USPS shipping which claim 5-8 day typical.

As you can see, this only took four days from Hong Kong to Ohio. This is unexcusable and I am demanding a full refund from FT. I will no longer shop with Fasttech and from now on I will only use my Grandmother for shipping. The $5 she sends for my birthday is ALWAYS 6 weeks late, the way shipping is supposed to be.

Well this just got a little worse. China post is refusing battery shipments now. Have an order with 1 two pack in it with some other stuff. I guess at some point maybe my crap will just reroute back to FT and I will eventually get a refund.

Per Jasmine at FT:
**New Update 9/20/2013** China Post now having the same problem like Hong Kong Post, all packages containing batteries are not allowed to ship. For orders that shipped via China Post previously, they will be returned within 24 hours and we will contact the customers for further process.

Apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Today was just an aluminum M16. But it just so happens that the top cap and bottom button happen to thread onto the 18350 tube from my svd. With an 18350 in it, it has a very slight rattle but is tight when the button is pressed, nothing I can't fix. Nothing too special, but it is unique.

Ok. I currently have 5 orders in. Two just made in the last 2 days, one for a TVS and one for a V3, so I just bought my own Christmas gifts ;) The other 3 orders are sitting in purgatory, aka the Hong Kong postal center. Of those 3 orders, 2 contain juice amongst other things. Are parcels containing juice and/or batts (from poster above) being stopped by their Customs?

Oooo Amazon has no nexus there then.

It amazes me when people get mad about online sales tax, yet don't realize they should be reporting that every year. Then in turn they get mad when the government says something about mandatory online sales tax. It was the same with catalog sales prior online sales. If everyone reported it well I doubt mandatory online sales tax would be news.

They just upped us .25% in Ohio and increased the withholding tables.

Ha! happens a lot to me. I get flipped off by nice people and some not so nice people. Answering the little questions on why that guy is waving to me from the little girls is rough though.

Enjoy mate.

Thanks.. I am pretty much set though. around 1000 ml of liquid and fresh batteries.

Same mate if ya need anything.

That is ABSOLUTELY inexcusable .... I would ship it back and demand they reship it back to you. :p

Definitely beat my record .... my 1st order for the OG MVP was 7 days door to door.

I think mine just took a magic step backward. As of the 12 it had been showing as "being processed for departure" in HKP tracking. Now it is suddenly showing "has been posted" with the same date. As I said before in this thread, not knowing is what bothers me. I don't know what those messages actually mean and I don't know if the change means someone physically put their hands on my MVP. If someone can point me to a place that explains the actual meaning of statuses of HKP and USPS tracking I'd be okay with all of this. Reading what people claim when searching is of no use because no two people have said the same thing and the postal services don't seem to have a detailed explanation of what these thing mean.

I think FT sent a ninja to go rescue my battery and juice from HK Post black hole.

It's been sitting in acceptance since the 4th ...
and was delivered today ...
without ever being processed through either customs facility,
never boarded a plane
and the first my local post office heard about it was after it was delivered
when they hacked the computer or something ...
because my post office is .... about listing things as out for delivery ... and this never went out for delivery.

So thanks for the extra ninja touch FT. Much appreciated.

I've rejoined the "waiting for delivery" crowd here on this thread.
I liked the iTaste VV so much I couldn't resist any longer and ordered an MVP.
I'm thinking the VV for out and about and the MVP for at home.
My days of watching the tracking begin again :)

I'd like a review after you've had it a bit - if you don't mind =]

I just pulled the trigger on an MVP 2 but willingly paid $10 more at Varitube because I couldn't stand the suspense on shipping. After discount it was $53.95 and only black available. I tossed in a few Evods to get it over $60 and get free shipping.

I'd like a review after you've had it a bit - if you don't mind =]

I LOVE Prime ... most of the time stuff comes a day earlier than they promise!

I have Prime, but I have started paying attention to the total costs. $5 item + $5 shipping OR $10 item with free shipping. I have it, but I wonder if it is really worth it :/ Once mine expires I'll be saving 50% on it by registering with a uni ID, then it will be worth it... I forgot to use my uni email address this last time :/

I'm coping just fine. Look what just arrived at my doorstep:

This I was SO GLAD TO SEE! My buddy just had his Sentinel thread go wonky, but he bought it at a B&M, so 30 day warranty or something :/ No replacement! I sent him your post and told him to CHECK the diameter of all TUBES! LOL

Amazon doesn't have The Walking Dead and that was the whole reason I got Netflix. I was planning on suspending it after the new season and go with some of the free Roku channels for a while. I'm getting sick of paying for B movies that would cost me 50¢ to rent. I noticed the selection of movies wasn't much different at Amazon. The price is close to the same per month but you get the shipping and books with Amazon.
Sales tax is a non-issue for me when ordering. I think the thought that people pay shipping costs and take shipping time to save a few percent in sales tax is ludicrous and an excuse for states who are chasing businesses out to try and collect the tax in spite of them doing a crap job of governing. By all rights with its central location Chicago should be a major player in internet sales, but they're not because IL politicians chase businesses away (they chased Amazon away and lost all that tax revenue).

Is it any books or select books?

It amazes me when people get mad about online sales tax, yet don't realize they should be reporting that every year.

Their job is to bring business (jobs) into their state. Getting to charge in spite of that means they get paid to not do their job. "Use" is not an excuse to tax. Actually providing something is an excuse to tax.

I don't understand why they just don't stick them on a boat. Yes it would take longer than a jet but not as long as they're scanning everything before it goes by air.
