My view is the 0.0001c the cash would earn in interest in the few days between ordering and them returning from Hols isn't worth worrying about, I just slung my order in and it will come when it comes, it is stuff I needed anyway.

I agree 100% about the interest. I never carry a balance on the Visa. The bank just pulls the amount due out of my account at the end of the month. Just checked the statement closing date. It was 09/06/13 last month. So, if I wait to complete my fasttech order until 10/07/13, I'll gain an additional month of float time.

Is it just me, or is anyone else a little queasy at the thought of FT (or anyone) circumventing the law by wrapping the batts in tin foil?

I mean there's a REASON for the law,,,,,

I'd just rather they be honest with us that batteries will take longer and be sent by the slow boat from china and let me decide if I want to wait for that slow boat or if I should order my stuff separate from batteries,,,,,,or if I should order batts here in the US and the rest of it from them,,,,

I'd not be able to handle the guilt if I thought my batteries wrapped in foil caused an airline explosion.

Nope. Because the way I understand the law is the plastic battery cases they ship the batteries in comply with the rule making the batteries no different than if they are in a cell phone as a case or an eGo body as a case.
The way I see it it is HK Post that is going above and beyond and making up their own rules (and my guess is at the request of the battery manufacturers who really hate the idea of end users having these batteries at all).

I've got a decision to make. Should I check-out my shopping cart on FastTech knowing full well that no one will do anything with it until Oct 7th? Or, do I keep the charge off my credit card until FastTech is back to 100% operation? If I was absolutely certain that my order would be filled before someone that ordered after me, I could see some benefit to getting the order in line. I don't think they care about sequential delivery at all.

There is no need to respond with: "If you have concerns about legitimacy and delivery time I suggest you pay more and buy locally for your peace of mind." I already know that.

Yes, you should. :)

Do what I do. When I make a purchase for vaping stuff I immediately make a payment to the credit card. I try to make it like paying cash as much as I can.

And let's not forget that these rules have been around for several years and it is not just HK post. I just mailed a couple of egos' back via USPS and they asked me if it contained explosive, etc. etc.....perfume or lithium batteries. So, no loose batteries or juices are suppose to be shipped domestically either. I also believe that is why they are being sent in the boxes, in order to comply with this rule.

Which would be strange. The 2 AWs I picked up in the US both came bubble wrapped separately. A ton of wrap though. Man those 350s are tiiiiiiiny.

Or maybe bubble wrapped isn't considered loose.

I just got a 5 pack of 510-X batteries, THOUGHT I could use my 510 chargers, WRONG, the 510-X are fatter (400 mah batteries), so I THOUGHT I could use my EGO charger, WRONG, This SUCKS. Had to use my EGO PCC to charge them.

I would love to hear how this works out for you. I've been looking at this set-up. Simple e-cigs suit my style. You can stash them above the visor when you're driving or tuck them in a shirt pocket when you're out and about.

Will this battery: https://www.fasttech.com/product/1401204

work with this charger? https://www.fasttech.com/products/1348002

Read Viking65.. I never used this battery before, but keep in mind using the right charging cable and wall wart for safety.

Cool looking battery though.

510-X 400mAh Charger?: FastTech Forums

The link on that forum might work, but I hate to wait 2 to 4 weeks and then it won't screw in. I have an EGO charger and the ring around the connection prevents the battery from screwing on. The 510-X is a fatter battery than a regular 510. Searching google pictures i found this one,
510-X.usbcharger.jpg
Notice how the connection sticks out. Only problem is I can't find it in stock anywhere.

The battery is nice for a cig-a-like, been using it all day so far with a 510 XL carto. First battery lasted about 4 hours.

I looked at that charger, but don't know what a "v9/v10" e-cig is?
the 510-X battery lasts a lot longer than a regular 510, I have been using it at work all day with a carto.

I remember when my V3 looked like that. Maybe I should polish it..

Hey Jerms, did you get your razor blades yet?

Not yet, they got ordered with the Nemesis clone which was backordered, finally got shipped a couple days ago. Hasn't reached the the states yet.

I got the idea from this discussion section:

Charger: FastTech Forums

I've learned to be skeptical of reviews on FastTech.

Exactly the point I'm making. We have been and continue to do it here in the states and people are trying to say FT is pulling a fast one. May be, but every one is also doing it also. Are we going to use ground transport only to move batteries around here in the US? I don't think so.

Well dang, "due to the gold colored lip at the 510 connection of these batteries, the battery will not screw into the charger deep enough to make a connection to charge these batteries." That's what I was afraid of, which is why I didn't want to order them. I have looked through all the chargers I can find on FT and haven't seen one like I pictured in my post above. At least I can charge them with my EGO PCC, but I will keep searching for a charger. Let me know if you find one...

Okies had a break at work and did some research.. basically found 2 places that sold the 510-X type battery. Mostly sold as a kit. The other were sold out of the batteries and you had to buy like 50.

Here is the fasttech kit link and you can see the type of chargers they have with it.

$9.63 510-X 3-in-1 Rechargeable 300mAh Automatic Electronic Cigarettes Set - silver / 2.3

$8.40 510-X 2-in-1 USB Rechargeable 300mAh Automatic Electronic Cigarettes Set - green / 2.9

and this from some place called DX. I never heard of them.
DX Product Forum: 510X USB Rechargeable Electronic Cigarette Lighter Battery Pole w/ Atomizer

You will get a sense of what the charging cable looks like.

I always put my battery safety stuff in. :) This is by some reports a 300-320mah battery. A lot of ego charging cables are rated at 420mah. It is not a good idea to charge a smaller battery with a higher rate charging cable. Basically the charging cable can deliver more than the battery can "hold".

I believe there are chargers rated at 200mah which would be okay for this type battery. I do not believe there are 300-320 mah rated charging cables.

So be careful in what you use to charge these batteries.

I gotta admit the plug charger looks dead on an ego charger.

Well dang scratch every word I just stated. Looks like someone doing something with ecigs has no clue what they are packaging. I am amazed the charger pictured in both kits would not work. Maybe a sign not to use the battery as nice as it looks.

Thanks for the effort. These are the ones I got $23.30 510-X 400mAh Rechargeable Batteries for Electronic Cigarette - Assorted Color (5-Pack) 5-pack - 510 thread at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping I will keep looking but won't buy anything until I find one "labeled" for a 510-X or that lists the mA, don't need no battery bombs. I am thinking of drilling the hole bigger on an old 510 charger, those were for 180mAh batteries, so should be safe. For now I will just use my EGO PCC when I need to charge one.

All batteries I have bought from FT ship in a plastic case. Have they started selling singles?

State side vendors should pick this up as a tip and throw in the case, too.
I did buy one brand (two pack) that came bubble wrapped and taped. Wondered that it may have been cheaper (and safer) for them to just include the case, But they didn't

What, are you nuts? They can get 5 bucks out of those... even though I think they might be included from the mfg. One of the many ways US vendors have driven us to FastTech...

Mmmmmm, the week is half over already and I already have 3 orders ahead of you LOL
790_smiley_picking_a_fight.gif

hahaha... same here. I've got a few more mods and a bunch of more junk I don't need waiting for shipment. I just can't live without the brass Chi You and a couple more Nemesis.
Too bad I don't need a cell phone case... geez
