I've got a fixed battery in "acceptance" now. Took about 36hrs from the time FT gave me the tracking number. That is about normal for what we were seeing pre-Sept. boondogle. Let's hope they are starting to normalize.

Mine have all gotten through before and FT will refund if they don't so it's not really an issue I guess. It was just shocking to READ. One ODD thing that happened to me... I ordered from a new Chinese vendor selling vape gear. I just got a cheapo eGo and a bottle of Dekang to test the waters... within 24hours I got this message:

Dear Customer,

Thanks for your support and we have checked your order Q1020724169 in our shop.
As we know, China exports surge, the customs check the package strictly.
And we have just received the message that this package can’t past the safety inspection and will be return to our office.
We will refund you the amount asap (within 3 days)
Apologize for any inconvenience again.
Any problem feel free to contact us !

Ocean Vapor also had to refund me (ordered juices). They use Singapore post. But the vendor asked me if I wanted to wait, as they would try to ship it again. TimeEast is sending juices via Switzerland. Hard times indeed in all fronts for vapers. :(

I would have liked to surf a wave of juicy peach! :) I just love saying juicy peach for some reason... it makes me smile... I know I know... my kids say I am weird too.

That was all about batteries, said nothing about e-liquid. If I wanted some I would try to order it anyway. I mix my own so I have no reason to order it from FT and wait for delivery. If I ran out tonight, I could have more tomorrow, just have to make sure not to run out of DIY supplies, which I get all stateside.

Aye mate.. but the ones above you mentioned e liquids. I read something on USPS website that nicotine is considered a drug and should be received from another country without proper permits and such. I would rather the bulk of my stuff get here than having a bottle of liquid mess it up.

I'd say right now, odds are in your favor of getting batteries through. At worst, FT might have to re-ship the package if it gets kicked back.
Im going to put in an order for some this weekend... some individual 18650 cells. I know the odds are in favor of it getting skipped in inspection. And if it DOES get caught, the second go-around has the same odds. Eventually, it'll get through.
Sooner or later, they will put a halt to this as well so I figure now's my last chance to stock up on half price Panasonics.
I still can't figure out why batteries these are banned. Everyone goes by international guidelines and as long as the cells are smaller than the specified output (I think it's 20amps), under a certain weight and packaged properly, they can fly without being deemed hazardous cargo.
As far as I have seen, FT has always been in compliance with cell batteries, they are under the set limits and packed in insulated plastic cases. The generic Ego stuff... that's a different story. They need a method to pack those differently in order to meet the compliance guidelines, but that's a simple thing to overcome with a plastic case.
There almost HAS to be some politics behind this somewhere... I would expect the Chinese are quite aware that this is going to cost them a lot of commerce. It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

On a different note: I did see where they are claiming they should have the broken tracking issues fixed by middle of next week. As of now, tracking is still totally blind until scanned in on the destination entry ports. Not that it was every actually accurate to begin with, but at LEAST we could see that the package was valid and in process.

Hongkong Post - Notices - Posting Outbound Air Mail

From another thread I follow :(

hmmmm, what does
...
Senders of Bulk Air Mail Service are required to pay attention to the above matters and mail items containing articles with close resemblance with lithium battery should be posted in separate bags as far as possible. For details, please refer to the Terms and Conditions of Bulk Air Mail Service.
...
really mean. first they say no lithium batteries then anything that resembles a lithium battery should be posted in separate bags as far as possible. Far as possible from what? each other? other items in the post.

Still waiting on my Aug 31 order in acceptance since the 5th. I've already asked FT to cancel/refund if package is returned to them, but there just isn't any movement in any direction :(
