Once I figured out NOT to have two huge .5mm ribbon coils (3 ohms each) to make a 1.5 ohm head in my V9 it became much less power hungry. I don't know why, I'm using the same 3 ohm coils for the same 1.5 ohm head, just smaller 32ga wire. But now instead of 10w-12w and a long time to heat up it plugs along at 5w-6w just like any 1.X ohm single coil I use.
I understand heating up the mass of ribbon wire will take longer but what I don't understand is how the 32ga dual can be so different than the ribbon and so like a single as far as wattage setting goes.

Because watts don't matter, wire temperature does. Thicker wire requires more current through it to heat up than thinner wire.

That part, thick vs thin, I understand.

While trying to word the part I don't understand I've been pouring over my thread questioning ohms law and dual coils and I think I'm getting it.
I think I was turning down the dual coils so they vaped equal to a single coil rather than 2 coils. Essentially I was running both coils at half what they would be run as a single and with the lighter wire they were able to do it reasonably.
I just cranked the dual up and there's the fog bank of 2 coils operating like they would separate and there's the higher battery cost.

I don't know if my throat will like it but now I'm liking the V9 a little more.

I really like my v3. Tvs is nice also, but had to stretch spring to keep it from firing while standing.

You mean the zmax v3 or the pheonix clone v3? Either way i dont have that problem.
Mmmmmm still brainstorming into what to order

Edited, i think was not for me,, i just have 2x V3 thing in the last post

Edited again, TVS, V3 are those brass mech? Wich one is better , looking for adjustable center pin

$18.11 V3 MOD Telescoping Electronic Cigarette Battery Compartment - gold at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping is the V3 I was referring to. I love it except for the fact that I can't figure out a way to make the button safety ring screw out far enough (without completely disconnecting) to allow it to stand up on its end without firing.

My V3 is firing while standing and I have not yet figured out a way to fix that. No doubt I will eventually.

It locks if it's the one I'm about to link to...

Wish I could help but mine is in the mail. but maybe this thread has the answer http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/apv-discussion/438774-clone-sentinel-mechanical-mod.html

It is supposed to lock. When I screw out the locking ring the button still sticks out just far enough to fire. SO though it is supposed to lock mine is not. That IS the one I have.
First make sure the locking sleeve is finger tight against the bottom cap.
Take off the bottom cap,and tighten the button with your finger turning it clockwise.
After that it will work right.

Ahh ok this clarifies it! You have to unscrew the bottom cap and there is a nut on the fire button you need to hold it down and screw your firing button in further...

I didn't quite understand that but dual coils run like a wider wire basically.

That got it ty so very much. I am a bit new to mechs so I was a bit clueless on this problem. I can honestly say now that that is fixed I am liking this one better than the K100. The button is just so much easier to push with my tiny tiny hands.

Setting it at the watts I like with singles wasn't supplying the voltage because the Ω are halved. Had I used the voltage I like with 3Ω coils the wattage would've been higher.
The lighter wire allowed the lower power to heat the two 3Ω coils and make vapor like a 1.5Ω single.
Basically I doubled the wattage.

Hey, I'm glad you asked, cause I think mine is getting here tomorrow, and it's my first mech :p
