The FBI Is Questioning Indiana's Sketchy New Vaping Law

The FBI seems to share an opinion with many vapers in Indiana that the state’s new vaping laws look a little fishy. The agency has been interviewing lawmakers and business owners in Indiana, according to the Indianapolis Star, trying to get answers on a bizarre, strict law that is shuttering vape businesses in the state and giving a special power to one local business.

Last year, Indiana passed a law setting out standards for vaping manufacturers wishing to sell in the state. This law was updated this year and is set to go into effect this fall, but it goes far beyond more state or even federal vaping requirements: The law includes the usual provisions, such as not selling e-cigarettes to minors, but alsorequires e-liquid manufacturers to obtain a five-year permit through a private securities firm, with expertise in such areas as rolling steel fire doors, in order to sell in the state.
