Do they read and care whats in these responses, or is it the quantity that matters?

Their official position is that quality trumps quantity. It's not a poll. However, I would think that if there's overwhelming opposition to the proposed regs, they'd have to take that into account. Part of the problem we're facing is that ANTZ are citing phony studies that supposedly show that e-cigarettes are not an effective smoking cessation aid. Here's one so you can see what we're up against. (Delete the %s.)

I'd like to wring her scrawny little neck. It will be hard for them to maintain that position with tens of thousands of us telling them otherwise.

Today is my 1 year vapeversary.

I have not ordered anything special to mark the occasion.

I have however, just submitted my comment.

I just cannot think of anything more worthwhile or important than that.

"Vapeversary" :lol::toast:

I have no idea what my vapeversary is. I didn't expect to quit smoking. 2.5 years ago I was just playing around with e-cigarettes and one day woke up and realized I hadn't smoked for several days. However, I will NOT be denied an excuse for a party so I'll just pick an arbitrary date in March.

I'm posting as an excuse to BUMP this thread. Hey, let's get those comments in. You have until midnight Eastern Time.

You got that right sparky!

On the Wikipedia page for eCigs, it say: "The majority of users who tried e-cigarette, continue to smoke traditional cigarettes."

This with a citation to study done by Glantz, and wonderfully under informative data such as:

Among the 23 participants who completed a 24-month visit, 18 continued to smoke, and 11 had reduced cigarette consumption by ≥50% with a statistically significant reduction from an average of 24 to 4 cigarettes per day (P=0.003). Five participants had quit tobacco cigarettes at 24 months. Study limitations included the use of a poor-quality product and the lack of a comparison or control group, which could make it difficult to determine whether quit rates achieved were not due to chance.

*Bold emphasis mine

More than 20‰ of the people in the woefully small study quit smoking entirely, and 2/3 of those that didn't drastically reduced their combustible tobacco intake?

What exactly is this Glantz guy's problem with us?

And WHY is his science so bad?? A high school kid could put a better study together. This would get an F in a high school science class.

The scientist in me dies a little every time someone uses bad science to supposedly uphold their stance...

I sincerely hope that CASAA or somebody else categorizes all of these nurses and pediatricians who want their patients to grow up exposed to second-hand smoke until it's time for them to grow up without parents at all.

Edit :so that I can refuse to do business with them of course. I just realized that sounded ominous.

I just shared this on my Facebook wall to over 2000 friends - I will most undoubtably get some awful comments, I don't care....if I get even one or two people to respond it is worth it!! You can copy and share on your wall if you want :) Better late than never...

:)
Please if you have a minute - help us to keep vaping (electronic cigs) safe and affordable...The FDA is proposing new regulations that would limit users access and tax things as they currently do with tobacco products - the only people who will gain anything by these measures are the big tobacco companies, the pharmaceutical company and govt because they have an interest in only profit.

The people who will suffer are people like me who use vaping as a quit smoking option - my friends and family all know how important it was for me to quit smoking cigarettes and this is the first and only successful attempt I have made in 25 years!

It only takes a minute to help!! Today is the last day! PLEASE help!!

Compared to traditional cigarettes - these can save smokers lives! Please don't let the judgmental anti-smoker groups tell you about the dangers and make everyone lose a GREAT opportunity to get off cigarettes forever!...I appreciate your time and help!!! Thanks!!!

This is what I am Talking about!

If you got 2 People to Comment, and then Each of those 2 got 2 to Comment, and then Each of those got 2, ... It would Only Take 16 Iterations to Generate 65,536 Comments.

And the 17th Iteration would Jump to 131,072 Comments.

At 131,072 Comments, people Start to Sit Up and Take things Very Seriously. Because the Thought of 131,072 People Donating to or Enjoining in a Lawsuit can Not Be Ignored.

Spread the Word However you Can.
