Hello everyone. First post, obviously. I know you, but you don't know me. I've been lurking for some time, and watching YouTube doing research religiously before taking the plunge into vaping. Had to register to share my experience, because, finally, it has become a good experience. And that's thanks to Alien Visions.
So, I purchased a Riva 510 kit with a 900mah battery. Sounded like a good one for the price. I know higher volts and mods exist, but, it's a beginner purchase and I understand the differences. So I start vaping. It's wonderful. I mean seriously, the favors are great, the "simulation" of smoking is great. Instantly I said forget cigarettes, I'm done. Then I started having problems.
It seems I killed two standard 510 atomizers in 4 days. How? No idea. I assume I probably flooded them. But they're dead. Kaput. Push the button, nothing happens. I was devastated. On the strength of the many many reviews here, I went with a 5-pack of Boge LR cartos. They took a full 7 days to get here. Not happy about that. I'm not going to mention the site, but.. I had to buy cigarettes (which tasted awful after only 4 days of vaping) and I wasn't happy about that either.
Boges get here. I do the condom fill (told ya I've been reading/watching youtube). Top it off. Wonderful. Wonderful! Back in business baby! I vape like a mad man, tossing half a pack of cigs in the trash. Then I start having problem. 3 hours later, the carto loses all flavor. It's got vapor, but nothing else. I've been topping off, but I'm still getting dry hits, no flavor. Now I'm leaking. Now I'm gurgling. Now I'm blowing juice every where. I get a good hit, then back to the same. I try another carto. This one lasts me the rest of the day, but the next morning? Same thing. Ugh! I thought Boges were the best! I'm frustrated, I'm annoyed, I've got sitcky juice on things, I've wasted more than I've actually vaped due to blowing out, dripping, topping off.
On top of all of this, my throat is sore. It feels like it was swelling up and was getting painful to swallow. At this point? I'm about to give up. Seriously. I'm thinking to myself it's just not worth it. I don't know what to do, but a good battery, supposedly the best carto, aren't working at all for me. I keep trying, determined that I'm doing something wrong and to figure out what it is. Cartos are starting to taste like plastic, even though they're full. Then I run out of juice, because I wasn't paying attention. Had to buy cigs again. Not happy.
This is a horrible story so far, but let me share my happy ending. I ordered a few samples from Alien Visions, again on the strength of ECF vets. I saved a Boge for it, so it was fresh. I decided against the condom fill because it just seems like a messy waste of juice. So I started dripping Flu Cured into the top. Man this juice is thick... and awesome. Oh, it makes filling SO nice! You can just put a drop down the side of the carto and it gently sits on the filler. Turn, drop, turn, drop. Unless you just pour a bunch on, there is like, no possibility this stuff is going to run down the air hole. Screw you, gurgles! So, I got about 25 drops in. Good to go.
Unbelievable. Oh god, it's good. Vapor out the wazoo. I think I finally know what "throat hit" means now. Taste is out of this world (hee hee, aliens). No gurgles because the juice is thick. Few drops to top, amazing. Seriously. I've been vaping it all day, and unless I got 4 bad cartos, it really is just the juice. Oh I'm so happy. AVE rocks! They literally saved vaping for me by just making a killer juice. I can't wait to try the others I ordered.
New vapers out there: Don't skimp on the juice! It really does matter. Alien Visions is fantastic. If the others are as good as the Flu Cured (yes, I have Boba's in there) I'm sold. So far no throat issues either, and I'm assuming I may have a slight PG intollerance, which Alien Vision solves by being all VG.
