Hi all, I make my e-juice , but recently i noticed that the flavor disappear after using 6 or 8 ml from 60ml bottle with a great flavor, that goes for all 8 different bottles with different mi, I'm using shake will way and put them in a dark place for 30 days to steep.
Any idea why that happening??
Hi and welcome,
Not every flavour needs to age.
If you switch between flavours, can you taste them again?
What device are you using?
What brands and flavours are you mixing and at what percentages?
Do you mix with nicotine? freebase or saltbase?

Cheers
I

You're saying that the flavor goes away as you vape it right? Some flavors can be kind of strong and when your taste receptors are repeatedly bombarded by it they lose their sensitivity. This can happen even if the flavors aren't high percentage. It's almost like your tongue gets bored and stops noticing the flavor. I don't know all that much about making my own e-juice but when a flavor that I'm using starts to fade in flavor I will fill up my tank the next time with unflavored and then usually after I Vape that up I'll switch back to the other thing and it'll be good to go again. I feel like I can kind of prevent it from happening if I switch my flavors a lot and if I don't pour an entire tank each time instead. I usually stick between 1.5 and 2.5 mL of a juice at one time and I've not had so much of an issue

Hello and welcome to ECF!

It's very helpful if you can answer the above questions from @Izan so we can give you better advice.

There is something we call vapers tongue where you lose all sense of taste for a couple weeks, but it seems your just losing your sense of taste after vaping for a bit, from your description, which goes away after switching flavors yes?

A situation such as I've just described can actually be caused by over flavored ejuice. What percentage of flavoring are you using?

With more information we can perhaps give you some tips to alleviate this..

hi, I'm using FA, CAP, INW, TFA . and i'm using blend of tobacco and creams and custard and cookies and all of them need to steep a long time, and using core rta , drop and wasp nano rda and all the coils is geek vape and demon killer, note that i have made the same serapes before and it was just fine!!!

When calculating how much flavoring your using in a recipe, you calculate it by percentage of your mix and at the end you have the percentage of total flavoring used in that recipe..

what is the average of that percentage for your recipes?

abut 15%
there is one
CAP sugar cookies 4.5
INW biscuit 1.25
FA cookies .75
CAP super sweet 1
TFA butter .5
TFA white chocolate .5

That one is reasonable.. but most you think are around 15%?

Try dropping the sweetener amounts - like the above recipe you could lower that Supersweet percentage and just add one drop per 30ml and go up to one drop per 15 if you need. Cap Supersweet is very sweet and so is white chocolate, so it may be too much sweet for your taste buds.

Often when we first quit smoking our taste buds are shot, and once we get over that initial healing of our taste buds, we can lower the amount of flavoring we use..

I have one recipe I'm literally using less than 2% flavoring in.. After a while, you just don't need a lot.

Also, you can also try brushing your tongue periodically with baking soda paste, instead of regular toothpaste when you brush your teeth, as that can sometimes be beneficial for your taste buds.

but I would definitely try lowering the sweetener, and cutting some of your higher % recipes by 1/3..
