The further I advance, the more frustrated I get

I did the ol' start from the skinny V4L batteries with premade cartos, and they just didn't do it for me - I couldn't get off analogs with them. Fast forward through that stage, the Go-Go stage, the EGO stage, smoktek cartosand now I'm in the VV stage with DC tanks with an occasional EGO carto. I've got a Lavatube clone, a smoktek 3.7, Smoktek Evercool Box, and recently a Throathit Mod (this dude makes them overseas, 2x18650 that is an absolute monster).

I finally got off analogs completely when I went VV, but after 2 months, I'm starting to lose faith. The Throathit mod, it's powerful allright, minimum 2 days HEAVY vaping strength, but I've burnt 3 tank cartos already in 2 days! I've adjusted it down, down, I'm at 3.9 (according to the readout), whereas I was between 4.2-4.5 on the same juice/DCT with my Evercool Box. Even at 3.9, somehow, this morning, maybe I hit it too often, it starting getting burnt fast, and now I'm without my menthol for the rest of the day. The Evercool is doing ok at times, but it won't vape my other tank that is working on my 3.7! And that one is starting to get weak on the hit and vapor, like it's just not firing well. I can't count how many little pieces of paper towel I've got with twisties at the end trying to get juice out of the 510 hole, drying up connectors...

It just seems the stuff people are able to do, I'm having difficulties enjoying consistently. How in the world do people vape at 4.5, 5 volts, without things burning up instantly? Am I choosing the wrong carts? I kinda wish I had stopped at the Evercool, at least that with a tank was doing me good even though I was cleaning it out every day, but I was addicted to the power of stronger mods.

Really, what is the day-to-day experience of a vaper like? I need some failsafe, can't go wrong carts (preferably with tanks, love not topping off all the time) at the right ohms. Dual coil 1.5-1.7 doesn't seem to be right for my mods, I guess. Someone smarter than me tell me what I need to do!

Welcome to why I bought a couple of ProVari's lol

I have a dual 18650 Altoids Box VV and was doing the same. Then came across this from Mad Vapes on the boards.

Battery-------------Single Coil-------------Dual Coil
510, 901, 808------2.0-3.2 ohms----------Not Recommended
eGo--------------- 2.0-3.2 ohms----------1.5-1.7 ohms
3.7 Volts-----------1.7 to 3.2 ohms--------1.5-1.7 ohms
5 Volts-------------2.5 to 3.2 ohms--------2.0 ohms
6 Volts-------------3.2 -4.5 ohms----------2.5 ohms
7.4 Volts------------4 to 5 ohms------------3 ohms

These are recommendations and can be tweaked a bit. Hope it helps.

Wow...obviously I need to search longer, that chart is on point. I'm going to start there.

You know what would be nice? As a newbie a couple years ago, the names and the numbers are extremely confusing (510/Ego/Joye/Riva can all fit the same, depending on the shape of the mod). A chart like you did there, to explain what fits what, would have helped a ton (and saved me a bunch on adapters!)

Another great chart - to explain which tips fit which carts. That can be extremely confusing if you're doing anything besides all "510." I'm still not completely sure on the XXXL carto tip replacement, versus the EGO, versus the 808d, etc. I dislike the skinny whistle tips.

The problem is Cartos (in tank or not). They have cotton like cloth wraped around the coil that heats up enough to burn it. If you're chain vaping it the juice can't resoak the wick fast enough so the coil burns the polyfill. I can't use any type of carto because I chain vape too much and not to mention they mute the flavor alot.
