You and me both. If it behaves well, and outputs what you set it to, I may be in for one. OLED screen looks fantastic, does vari watt and vari volt too!

And the menus are much easier to deal with than any other mod out there by the looks of it... And it has geek factor to boot! :D

EDIT: Swear I saw vari watt, but seem to have been mistaken...

Good golly Miss Molly!! That device looks intense. Really curious to see if it delivers..

Absolutely.

Now, after reading the specs carefully on the eVic, I noticed that it would allow for upgraded software versions from Joyetech in the comfort of your home. Believe that may be a first in the industry. Also, they rightfully are using an 18650 2200mAh battery, it may be worth a look if the price point remains under $100, and if it performs, well, the Provari may have seen better days if they don't bring their price point down.

eVic could have all the bases covered....performance, style, function, innovation, price, and hopefully durability. eVic could be the vv/vw equivalent of the eGo to the industry.

I think the only recourse that Provape or companies like Provape (cough cough Evolv) would have at this point would be to release something "along" the same lines as some of these newer devices. It's almost like the gloves have come off in the Far East and they are taking it to the rest of the world. Basically a huge wake up call to the modders/manufacturers out there that says "what you can do, I can do.. better, cheaper and faster"

All I can say is I want one. First mod was my silver bullet. Great unit but not VV. I have a LavaTube and it's a okay device the plastic bottom broke and the fire button is a bit finicky now. I haven't ever used a Provari but that's because of the price. The only other mod I've considered was the variable wattage mod but haven't pulled the trigger.

Now this is a game changer. Usually the East would just mass produce a mod that is in production. Maybe add a couple of neet features (I'm thinking the original Indulgence that had different atty connections) but nothing along these lines.

I remember back three/four years ago when you had the choice of 510/KR808/M401 and a couple of e-pipes and cigars. All of them where horrible compared to now days. Great time to be a vaper!

I am very surprised, and pleased by the impact that the modding community has had on the ecig industry as whole. This is truly the product of the dedicated community members hard work, its a shame the east will cash the cheque for the fruits of their labor. Until battery/super cap technology improves, I really don't see much room for furder advancement, hopefully I will be proven wrong. anyway the money for for modders appears to be in Form and no longer Function.

That's probably a very true observation.

However, is massive-display, 100-function, computer-connected high-tech mods like this really the future? Or are all these things more gimmicks than features?

I mean connecting to a PC to track vaping data? Really? Who needs that?

I truly don't see how I would need or benefit from more functions than are currently available to me on my Provari.

We're turning liquid into steam here, people, not running a nuclear reactor.

I'm not one to poop all over new technology, quite the opposite really, but this seems like the equivalent of my TV having the "feature" of browsing twitter and Facebook.

Something solidly well-built and quality like a Provari wins out over gimmicks for me.

Even having said that, this thing does look rad. More of a show-off piece than necessary function.

I'd like a device like the Provari, with the single screen and button, that can be changed between VV/VW with a flick of a mechanical switch, perhaps hidden in the bottom cap or somewhere discrete. The screen should be a higher pixel count than the current provari screen, more along the lines of the vamo. Simple, easy to use, well built and well calibrated. Oh, and under $100. Until then, I like my Twists.
