Heh nicely timed Paps v3... Right after I got my v2.5...

Guessing the difference will be a GPin and slightly different top cap? Hope they plan to sell some straight up hybrid setups also. If I bought another Paps just for the Heron, I'd have a top cap collecting dust. Hmm... with another button, tho... This could go on. I might end up owning several hundred Papses if I don't think this through.

PAPS V3 will have the Gpin in the top cap as well as a newly designed switch and tube. The switch will have a reverse threaded locking ring as well venting built in to the switch so the tube will no longer have holes drilled in it. My only GP products currently are a Spheroid and an SnP as well as drip tips for them of course.

I'll be getting a PAPS V3 in brushed to go with the mixed finish Heron. I'm really excited for this combo to come in January.

I'm also really excited for the new top cap in 2014 to turn it in to a dripper. Knowing the kind of quality and dedication to perfection that Perseas and the GP team strive for I have very high expectations for it that I'm sure will be met. There's only a couple hybrid drippers out now and I was actually thinking of tracking down a Valkyrie by Vicious Ant , but now I'll just wait for the Heron Dripper cap to be released.

Yup. Like Perseas basically said in the GP thread, if you want to buy as a hybrid just add everything to your cart except the top cap.

PAPS tube 32 USD
PAPS switch 67 USD
Heron 165 USD

So for 265 you can order it as a hybrid 'kit'. The Valkyrie is about 5$ less so that price would be right in line for a GP stand alone hybrid. I'd say probably better even because of the quality that GP has on all of its products. And you can't put a price on the amazing customer service that comes with their products.

Heron + Paps = Hybrid + spare cap. Of course you can buy only tube, button and Heron, but good luck on getting all those in your cart before either is sold out on vaporday

I'm assuming this means you have a PAPS X ? If that's the case Perseas has said the conversion ring will be 14.40 euro.

I've got three kids and my birthday as well as two of theirs and my wife's are all within a five week period surrounding Xmas. So I know what the wallet being on life support is all about. My PAPS in January will be the only hardware purchase of any significance I make until the spring.

I will be getting a Heron. Oh yes, I will. And it'll sit nicely on all my Paps 2.5 SS tubes. But I will now have to get a Paps X so my new Squape looks nice on something other than my Roller. I hate my OCD.

Vapourart is releasing the step-down ring specifically for the PAPS X and the Heron. The Heron is 20x1 threading and 22mm in diameter, whereas the X is 21x1 and 23mm in diameter. On a PAPS or PAPS Lux the ring won't be needed.

Also Perseas has said this morning that they could not brush the top cap to their level of where it needed to be quality wise , so the only finish for the Heron will be the mixed finish.

I like the mixed look. I have two spheroids and mix-and-match the caps, bases and tubes as the mood strikes. Polished cap and base with the brushed tube is actually my favorite of the combos, so this will work out nicely.

So glad they made it a hybrid 20x1, and the new pin looks to be a real innovation. I'll definitely be picking one of these up for my Lux tubes.

Standard 510 tips fit. Also, I want a polished spheroid to go with my brushed for that very reason. I think you can buy just the tubes though , maybe I'll do that.
