I don't know why but my internal ring doesn't touch the deck so when I close there's a gap, what could be happening?

You're sure, the tube isn't put on the wrong way (the inner step isn't the same for top and bottom)?

Yes, I'm sure, and I tried to screw dow with pliers to see if it wasn't screwed down, and it doesn't worked, I thought that the bottom o-ring was blocking the way, removed and nothing different happened :/

So I've got to ask, I've been thinking about the Heron a bit lately as it's really been tempting me. What's actually the difference between this and a genesis-style atty? Suppose you have a genny wicked with cotton like so:

Then what you have is a cotton wick resting in a tank.. if you took the filler out of the Heron and wick it with cotton (as some have done) then you essentially have the same device, no?

So maybe we need to consider the 'Venturi effect'.. I am actually an engineer (though not one who knows anything about fluid dynamics), but I can't really see how a small restriction in the Heron chimney is that different from the flow restriction incurred as vapour flows from the atomiser deck of a genny up into the drip tip. Obviously the genny has the tank on the bottom but that itelf shouldn't make much difference I imagine, except for maybe a cooler vape on the Heron due to more time for the vapour to lose heat to the chimey walls.

Can anyone weigh in on this? From reviews it's obvious the Heron is subjectively a superior experience for most folks, I'm just trying to figure out why.

Edit: Continuing (potential) discussions at UKVapers where I got a couple of replies and posted a couple of ideas I had of my own: http://ukvapers.org/Thread-GP-HERON-22-23-mm-Spheroid?page=46
