It didn't look like to me that he was wanting a hand out. I guess that is what you get when you are a part of a community though. We take care of each other. It is kind of a shame that you don't understand how that works, but don't worry, there are plenty of people with good hearts here that do. We'll cover your slack too.

If you are talking about the Pay it Forward forum than yes he is, but only because someone on page 3 or 4 of this thread told him to make a thread on there. I agree with you that there should have only been one thread, but that doesn't change my human nature to help someone, even if they do get supplies for a year. I would hope that once he is on his feet that he would pay it forward also.
I still believe that there are good human beings out there, no matter what some people might believe.
I will agree with those that have said its said that people can take such advantage....
But what I think is even SADDER is the fact that people always assume that everyone is out to scam and screw people!
Chris came on here, looking for suggestions... we opened up, and did what we could to help out.
Of course there are always scammers out there (I really dont feel this is the case with Chris) But IF it was, the few bucks in juice that I sent him made me feel like a good guy, and I was happy that I made the effort to someone in need. Besides, we all know what they say about Karma that would be HIS problem if there were alterior motives.
Lighten up guys, its not like we were sending him high priced mods!

I feel the same way, and I also feel fortunate that I am in a position to help people who are having a bit of bad luck. If I risk being taken for a chump from time to time, so be it! My heart is in the right place, and that is what is important to me.

Right...and like I said somewhere else, there will always be those who prey upon the generosity of others, but the number of those folks are, I still believe, in the minority. If you help 10 people, and 1 of them was actually a scammer, well, you still helped 10 in you heart, and that's +10 Karma points right there.
For the record, I do believe that the "other forum" would have jumped in to help if asked as well - maybe not so eagerly with someone they did not know, but still.
