It's crazy how much I ignored the instant health repercussions I was suffering, and I know co-relation is not causation but I've definitely felt...better since I started vaping. The scariest one was the hands falling asleep while sleeping, but I just thought it was how I had been sleeping, and like others have mentioned, I didn't notice it until i read about others suffering from the same symptoms. Also, it's amazing to hear my voice again, I didn't realize how much it had changed. I couldn't be happier

I guess I may as well throw this in...

Before I started vaping almost three years ago I could barely hold my breath for 30 seconds.
About a year ago I held my breath for 90 seconds without too much trouble.

About three days ago I tried it again and held my breath for 105 seconds without too much trouble.

Lung capacity is a big thing for me this year ... since before I go on my cruise in December I aim to get SCUBA certified. Better lungs means better oxygen absorption, which means less air used, which means more time on the bottom. And since I really don't see myself going mod crazy with too many PVs or APVs, my actual financial savings are about to hit. (I'm about 1 week from break even on what I spent when I started last month). That's going to go a long way to making sure I can get down to the Keys and dive. :)

Good call dude. Also if smoking ever gave you issues with your sinuses quitting will help you equalize your ear/sinus pressure as you dive. It used to be almost painful for me to get past the first 30 feet (after that the pressure increase is more gradual) but now I cant wait to get back in water!

Well, I've had occasional sinus issues. But nothing major and I've done 2 of PADI's Discovery SCUBA sessions. One was a basic pool dive down to maybe 15-20 feet. Last December when I was on a cruise with a call on Cozumel, I took advantage of my location and got to do an open water dive down to around 25' give or take. Really had no great issues with equalization, but I felt I was breathing too rapidly which I am sure was caused by needing to bring in more air into my lungs to get the O2 I needed. I'm loosly planning a weekend trip to Key West with a buddy around the end of August. Gonna try and do the book stuff online and then find a dive shop down there for the referral dives and be certified once and for all.

Really looking forward to diving the tank at Epcot's Seas with Nemo and Friends area. A while back I had an opportunity to do SCUBA assited snorkeling in that tank and it was amazing, but I wanna actually go fully underwater there. :) Heh, now I just need to save up the $250 I need to buy a dive rated housing for my digital camera. I have the Canon Elph 300 HS, amazing camera with all the features I wanted in a point and shoot (I have a 20D for more "serious" photo work) ... but admittedly one of the main reasons I was even looking at the Elph is because of this:

I've also felt like I was 18 again in that dept. To go even further, I've been told things......well.....taste amazing now. Tips hat to Pink Spot Black Mamba (Cranberry in it) and Pink Spot Pineapple. I about died laughing, but she was dead serious.

Outside of cost, everything about vaping is on the +

Outside of cost? I agree at first that is there. But I have in like 6 months got my cost down to around 30 dollars a month! I just had to find the right stuff and vendors and such.

I agree! I am a singer of some consorts and I cannot believe how much better my voice is. Even people at work have asked about my speaking voice changing! Lol.

I agree! I went from about 100 bucks a month smoking the cheap stuff to a consistant 30 dollars a month vaping! And you are right, the key is NOT to become a "collector."

I never could make the switch to the cheap stuff. Camel Mentol Wide Lights were my stick of choice. And being a rarer breed, I could almost never find them in full cartons, so I was a PAD smoker mostly buying a PAD. When I would remember I would take advantage of the 3 pack deals. But still averaging 6 bux a pack. So that's like 180/mo. I've spent about 250 so far on my first hardware, some accessories, and juice. Pay day I've decided I'm buying a Twist. Then probably another twist next payday. But even after all that, I'm gonna break even by the end of June.

Yea, there's always that "start up" expense as is with anything. I started with a 2 batt V2 kit, then ordered a third batt in XL size, then recently got a Lavatube. I spent a little playing around with carto's and juice, and what vendors to go with. I now have it settled in to ordering 15 Boge carto deal about every 2 months (if that) for 20 bucks. And I spend maybe 20 bucks a month on juice of good quality. I have learned to cleanmy carto's pretty good, so even when I order those I am still sitting on a ton of "useable" ones. And I usually have prolly 70 mls of juice stocked up just because I get tired of a flavor, or didn't care for it much. In other words, in a pinch I could go a few months of buying nothing if I had to and just vape the so-so carto's and not-so favorable juice.

I just need to work on cleaning Type-A atomizers. I know a lot of people hate on them, but I don't mind the eGo-C tanks. And they seem to be fairly cleanable. I don't really have a juice reserve so much yet, but still finding my comfort zone there. I know I'm gonna be making an order probably this evening for a few more flavors to try out. But thanks to an Excel spreadsheet and my signature banner, I know right where I am in my cost-v-saving ratio, and I'm happy with it. My total expense in May was $250. So pretty close to break even.

Great Thread! A brief history - I recently (feb) had a sleep study done, have severe sleep apnea(stop breathing @ 120 times per hour) Got a c-pap machine - also started vaping 4-23-12. Fast forward to last week. went in for my 6 week checkup for apnea & Dr said my results were some of the best she had ever seen. I went from my 120 times per hour to average of 2 times per night! Now, i know for sure the c-pap machine is doing most of that, but i also believe the vaping has helped with those results.
I also have noticed the singing improving as well. i can hit notes now that before my voice would just stop mid note. :)

Thanks for the props on the thread! I am not trying to sell this vaping thing as a "cure all elixer," but I would bet my left ... that your apnea has also gotten better with the vaping. I used to deliver oxygen back when I smoked (lol), and I will say most of our patients where smokers, and had sleep apnea. You know, I have always been a 'to each his own' and still am. But I never thought I would see the light about the harm cigarette's can do to you! OMG! They really are the poison all these people are crying about!

It's weird for me, I've experienced most of what everyone said (except the numbness, I get those in my hands when I'm a little less hydrated than I'm used to and eat salty stuff). But i can't say it's kept me from eating more sweets, kind of opposite for me. I didn't eat very much sweets before I started vaping, but I tend to try some desserts to see if it's something I'd want to vape... Or, I'd try to pair some liquids with sweets or soda/other sweet drinks. LoL! Anyways, that's something I do to enhance or compliment my flavors occasionally.

I'm almost a month in analog free. Yesterday my dad told me I had to wake up at 6 am to help him . The last time I woke up this early was ages ago . I expected to feel like a train wreck in the morning cause that's the way analogs make me feel. I slept only 6 hours and a half and I actually feel great !!! No swollen water eyes and heavy tired body !! I feel like I can go outside and run around the block a dozen times !!! And i actually felt like making myself a nice healthy breakfast. Wooooooooooooo never going back . !!!!

Yeah, I woke up today and the first thing I smelled was my ziplock bag of juices from across the room.

That never happened before since I couldn't smell for frack but just didn't realize it. Plus, the downstairs neighbor's smoking in the hall reeeeeks to me now, nasty.

Oh, and my beloved coffee tastes better now too... market_43_1300847509.gif

Yup. Same experience here. Once I found a reliable vendor for all my vaping needs, I cut costs down dramatically. $60 a month is nothing compared to the $16/day @ $8/pack. So, my blood pressure has obviously improved as a result of reduced financial stress. XD

Indeed! I wasn't implying Vaping is expensive in my last post. It does have a bit of an entry fee for the good stuff is all I was saying. A good vv mod, tanks, a few other items, and finding juice you like, adds up. No complaints here what so ever. Overall I'm saving money in the long run...not to mention my life!

I too had sleep apnea for a time. I dropped 40lbs and that took it down about 80%. Quitting smoking pulled the other 20% off. I also don't snore like a chansaw anymore.

For sure, I agree there is definitely a start up cost unlike smoking. I also agree I wasted some money at first on not only some sub-par equipment, but trying to find a good juice and vendors for all. I tell ya, I sure wish I would had found this place first before I spent a hundred bucks on a slims kit that I could had had better quality for about half that! I finally settled in for now on a Lavatube as my main device until maybe I can afford a Provari. My other thought is to grab a Bolt for 40 bucks and then eventually throw a kick in it. Maybe be able to have a cheap "Darwinian" experience! Haha!
