Even if the HH.357 was great, will never order from Avid again. I ordered three weeks ago, paid $12 for shipping, send several e-mails on the status and this is what they have to say:

I am sorry for the delay, you will need to give this more time to arrive, we have experienced packages taking in excess of 5 weeks to arrive.

This is from the shipping policy on our site:

Since we rely on third party shipping entities like USPS, UPS, FedEx, and foreign customs agancies to handle the shipment of our products, Avid Industries, Inc. can make no Guarentees or warranties about delivery dates or our products, Avid Industries, Inc. cannot be held liable for any damages or inconveniences caused by late product delivery, loss of items during shipment, or customs delays.

This notice is in bold RED when you check out:

All First Class and Priority orders inside the US (50 states) ship with delivery confirmation, this is not a tracking number although USPS sometimes updates the location status but not always. Signature confirmation for domestic first class and priority mail are available as an option. Domestic and International USPS/EMS Express Mail carries a tracking number and signature confirmation. First Class and Priority Mail International shipping are NOT trackable and do not carry delivery confirmation outside the US, because of this we have no recourse if a shipment is delayed, held in customs, lost, or never delivered. USPS/EMS Express Mail International is the only trackable shipping method outside the USA. Please be aware of this when choosing your shipping method.

So my mistake that I did not pay $30 for shipping of an atty!!!!! I have never had this with any supplier, they took care of me they way they should!!

emonty, I certainly understand your frustration. Not that I live outside the the states, I live in Pennsylvania. One time the postal service excepted an item from New York, sent it to Florida, from Florida it went to South Caroline, and then to Pennsylvania. If you look on a map New York is just one state up from Pennsylvania, 190 miles. It took a week to get here and that was Priority Mail. The vendors do not have control over the shipping service and what happens to the package once it leaves their hands.

As far as Avid's customer service, what do you feel they could have done differently in this situation?

I sure hope your atty arrives safe and sound very soon! :~)

I except the fact that it might take longer, what I don't like is that just because I did not choose a $30 shipping method, but the $12 option for a small order to be shipped overseas, that they do not take the responsibility to take care of there customer.

That is why I asked "what do you feel they could have done differently in this situation?". I reread your first post that contained the response from Avid. I'm not getting that they don't care about you or whether or not you get your package on a timely bases if you don't choose the $30 shipping method. I believe what they are saying is that First Class and Priority Mail International does not provide a way for them to track your package, so they are not able to see where your package is or what is holding it up.

I can't state how much the parts cost Avid, but I do know that the atomizers are assembled by hand one by one, and each are tested. That does take man hours which are being paid for. I get that you are frustrated because you haven't received your merchandise after three weeks of waiting and feel that Avid should mail you another in the interim. I know that I wouldn't like the thought of losing $34.

On the average, how long does it take for you to get mail from the states?

I will say this, avidvaper obviously didn't want you to wait 5 weeks if it was up to them you'd get it at the snap of a finger. That is how all vendors would roll, if they could... But this was an unfortunately event emonty I do feel for you and I am sorry to hear about your situation. I know I would be ...... too. But just take a moment to step back and realize that its not avidvaper's fault. Now I have never dealt with avidvaper but I am sure they did not mean for this to happen. They did their part, the mailmen well... didn't.

Avid vapor did not do anything else then show me the small print, I have send them three times a mail, it took them a week to respond with......zilch....so much for customer service. I know better as I deal with many vendors and they act like they are there to provide a service, not take your money and hide behind the postal service!!!

I know dude, its rough. But you gotta understand, they're trying to run a business and I'm not saying what you say doesn't mean crap to them - what I'm saying is that you can't expect them to try and correct a problem that they didn't create because it is the mailman's fault. Not avidvaper's.

And by sending them a message dude, you can't expect them to say "Sure we'll just ruin our next in line's HH .357 atty and make him wait for you because the mailman messed up"

Again emonty I do feel for you and I hope you get it soon dude.

Dude, seriously you need to chill! From what you posted that they sent to you, they said they were sorry for the delay, but that you needed to give the mail service more time. That other customers have experienced delays in excess of 5 weeks. They also stated that the message in bold red appears when you check out. Avid nor any other vendor can be responsible for the short comings of the mail service providers. If vendors took responsible for merchandise that was either delivered to the wrong address, took longer than usual to be delivered, or got lost in the mail, we would be paying double the normal cost for an item. Think about it!:?:

yeah, dude! one can't expect all the vendors out there to go above and beyond. THIS is JUST business.
If I had sold something to someone and the item had never showed up I'd either reinburse the buyer or re-send the item.

Here's the difference tho, what if the mail person screws up multiple orders for you and you go and remberse everybody with money back or more product knowing it will still show up just not when expected. There's a fine line between above and beyond and giving away free stuff for things out of your control. It's not like avid was like oh I'm gonna pick the 5 week option for this guy and float it overseas in a bottle. Most people think that avid and hanna both go above and beyond and have been helping people with their product and their issues until they can either fix them or make sure that at the end of the day their happy. You have your own opinions and Ill listen to them but I believe you to be seriously wrong in your generalizations.

Have a great day

I just think that "business" could be done better.

I agree, the USPS sucks! I mailed my brother in Houston $100+ worth of vaping supplies and I sent it Priority Mail. As of today, USPS shows it delivered Wednesday. I don't doubt it was delivered, but I can say that it wasn't delivered to my brother's house. The USPS told me that I should have insured the contents!
