Lady, you have a dead short somewhere. Look under the top cap and make sure the negative screw isn't touching the positive post somehow.

Stacy...I don't see it touching.

Lady can you ohm your coil? If its really low you have a serious short like was previously posted. Happened to me on my GGTS and I fried a battery spring pretty bad. Maybe just rewrap your coil?

And watch out for little bits of wire. They can mess the setup pretty bad. I don't think there is anything wrong with your IHy if that helps at least lol

Just curious, is the switch contact screw tight? Mine has backed out on me. Once I started cleaning it regularly I haven't had the problem again. Does the plastic ring that holds the battery snug in place show signs of deformation?

I don't see (or feel) any deformations. (And thanks to everyone for offering help....if I disappear for a few....don't stop brainstorming! I'll be back!)

Spingfield...I'm embarrassed to admit I do not have a meter. But, by gawd, I will have one before the day is over! This is ridiculous. I'm going to clean it and re-wrap the coil gang. I don't know what else to do at this point. I only one battery left....jeeze, what a buffoon I am! I'll back later to let you guys know what's up.

Thanks :)

Does your charger show signs of overheating? Might be the problem is not with your PV.

Good question, Sync. I checked the charger with batteries in it and don't feel any signs of overheating. I'm METICULOUS with watching it as it chargers so not to leave batts in too long. AND, I ordered a new one which should be here anyday because this is a cheap Trustfire

Don't forget to tack the switch apart and check it.. make sure the plastic is all still intact and in the right place and the spring looks healthy and hasn't bent anywhere touching things it shouldn't be. Also, when you take your coil out triple check you don't have any extra little pieces of wire stuck anywhere.

Lady. I noticed on RTD's site they have a pretty inexpensive one plus its a good place (I'm sure you know ;-) ) to get some more batts. Let me know if you need a few to hold you over.

Hongda DT-95B multimeter voltage meter

I have that one and love it's size but found that it wouldn't read ohms. It just didn't work. It's great for checking the batteries, and even the voltage, just wouldn't read the ohms for me. I may have gotten a dud though. But great little unit and cheap!

Dang good lookin out. They have a few others on that site as well. Maybe the others would be a better buy. I work at an electrical supply warehouse so the fancy one I have was "plant used" lol

Put it by your ear if u hear it fire stop unscrew. Wait for calvary to answer.

Sent from unemployment line.

She has a really bad short somewhere...one that's caving her batteries instantly and melting the plastic right off. I'm not sure putting it to your head is the best idea lol.

I just talked to her she's going to put some pictures up when she gets back home. She says she feels some resistance in the switch like it's jamming. Could be something in there as well.

Agreed, BUT, assuming the batteries are being put in the proper direction (which she confirmed), the switch really shouldn't be the problem. Its job is to close the circuit and with the battery inserted properly, it can potentially cause a weak connection, but not what sounds like a dead short...

Here's what I would try, personally, and carefully.

Remove the wick and coil completely, insert the battery, and fire the switch. If the battery starts to get warm, there's a dead short in the device itself (possibly something wrong with the positive post insulator, etc)... If that's the case, it needs to go back to Ego.
