Eric I was having the same problem with the Dragon as you are When using a kick. It appeared when it pushed the delrin down when assembling, it was actually to tight of a push. i realized that if I backed the switch assembly out about 1mm the swich would work properly but not fire since the end of the tube needed to contact the switch assembly due to the threads being anodized and just the tube ends were contact points. Well, I just determined I would have a kick STRICTLY for this device and shave a little of the bump on the bottom of it. Now it fires perfectly and locks like its supposed to:)

Interesting, I'm useing the kick in my Dragon right now. I had to fiddle with it a lot but I have it in a position right now where it works perfect. Maybe a slight difference in the machining?

it may be but it's way to close for me, i dont want it firing in my pocket or sitting around the house, the standard switch i have has alot of locking behind it, the dragon is very very close and will fire, i dont want to modify things too much.

well foot in mouth, i guess i did completely brush polish out my standard anyway.

Hey all!
Got a quick question .... got an iHy, and the button has the knurled lock ring, but the top edge, closest to the tube, is smooth. I am having a bear of a time unscrewing the button.
I Noalox'd it, but still wind up loading the battery from the top most of the time.
Any tips on getting the button to unscrew easier?

I grabbed one of each during the black Friday sale. I received the red right away cause I had enough funds in my paypal account to pay for it, I had the wait for funds to clear to get the blue one.

I will be trying to get a Hellraiser when they go on sale too lol. :vapor:

I put copper tape on my ring, took the ring off, stuck copper tape on it and trimmed it out with an exact o knife, don't lock up any more

Well, seeing as this thread has ventured into my kind of music...

...Which I'll be listening to when my Illuminati gets here. :)

The next week/month is starting to look awesome- besides the illuminati, gots some black-market Pluid on the way, 28 Kanthal, a matte-black NGP 3.0 on preorder, and fingers crossed for the "lucky 13" Dec Caravela drawing! mmmm

Oooohhhh. I completely hadn't noticed that he intentionally took the knurling off the topmost portion that meets the battery tube, I thought you were saying there was a mfg defect, but that's clearly intentional.. And makes sense that he solved with the reverse threading.. (and some new magical technology he hasn't shared with us yet)

You'll need to wait for Ego to chime in on this one..

It's not on tight, at least I didn't screw it down tight. I just can't get my fingers on any part that doesn't turn freely.

The lock ring spins freely, etc, seems to work fine (maybe needs a good cleaning) but I can't grab it well enough to get the darn thing off.

Anyone have any thoughts on Paps vs the new Gus telescopic from someone who has, or has used both?

I currently have both and they are similar in design and usage. The main difference being that the gus is telescoping so there is not need to carry the extra tubes.

looks like my standard comes tomorrow and the illuminati is getting ready to ship as well.

I guess I'm back to, don't tighten it so much. :p

Does it feel like you're going to hurt something if you just use the knurling on the locking ring for leverage...?
