I will in time, everything just takes planing and time. I want to wind up with one of the new standards and the 14500, and with any luck the celtic LE when it is made.

Anyways Grruss, remember it wasn't that long ago I didn't even have one, god if it wasn't for you guys I might still be looking at this and wondering what to do lol.

here's a question for you guys if it hasn't been answered yet :p

Will I get higher or lower ohms by twisting?

I haven't tried it yet but always wanted to. I personally like higher ohm coils because I have a provari and have a wider rage of voltages I can try. I have a tendency to change voltages for the heck of it lol

It will lower the ohms as twisting the wire cuts the resistance of the wire in half.

Twisting lowers your ohms

LOWER! With my regulated devices, like the Provari, I use a higher ohm coil. Otherwise I keep getting the dreaded "E" codes.

I say it again twisted 32 4 wrap wow.

So you went back to twisted 32? That's what I use, but I see you were having trouble with the top snapping. I suggested twisted later that day bc I thought it would keep this from happening?

Do you think the tightness of the twisting affects anything? I'm starting to believe a looser twisting is better. Here's my current results:
I put both ends of the wire under the negative post and tighten. I twist the loop with the Allen key to make the wire a helix and one time had the wire snap at the negative post(while twisting). Easy fix, I loosened the screw, removed broken off wire and put end(really twisted wire) back under the screw. Later, when I was checking for hotspots, the bottom wire would start turning red first(there was some juice in the tank). I pulsed it and got a very even, beautiful glow that I could hold for it seemed minutes without popping. I figured the bottom of the wire got red first because it was more tightly twisted than at the top coil(which most commonly turns red do to not getting enough juice?).
Hope that's not too much reading ;)

I do want to add tho, I don't recall all of the details, but if you do twist your wire please remember while it makes it easier it can also cause other problems do to the fact the thinner wires pop to help add some safety when there are shorts, twisted like thicker wire doesn't pop as easily. Which while nice in one respect is a double edged sword.

The guys can explain it much better, but I remember the warnings given when I started playing around with twisted wire.

Yep that "E" error is such a pain and more so with the "Lo" when checking ohms errrrrrr.......

Really in half WOW! How low do you guys make these coils? I usually get 1.2 to 1.4 on a 32g 4/5 wrap and/or 3/4 wrap half that just seems super low. But thats just me

You have to add more wraps when you twist, I made that mistake also and had a nice flaming wick lol
