Hmm. I was reading the reference links and it said on there "Use IMR AW batts with no nipple".. on line 113

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmYrSL_FJC4NdHZUb0xvVzRrNi1Qb2NCQ0dUUVdZUmc#gid=1

I do have aw imr, that's all I use.

Ok so reading Faceless' post, he says " If you only use AW brand with nipples you can file the nylon piece on the battery switch down and custom size it"

I plan on using a kick so I may have to do this, but don't want to mess anything up. I'm new to iHybrid by the way, just learning about it and the parts. Haven't even tried to put batteries in yet, again, don't want to mess anything up.

I have been using only AW IMR nipple tops. I did sand down the delrin in the switch, BE CAREFUL. Sand a little and check often. It's easy to sand too much. Don't ask me how I know.

My 2cents about that recessed switch with cut outs. NOOOOO! Please. I have used this in a precise, and I have to hold it a certain way to fire, otherwise the switch protector got in the way. Having to rotate and hold it just right was stupid IMO.

could not have said it any better. I personally hate the PP switch. I cannot stand that I have to get my fingers just right to fire that one. I prefer the design now. My only complaint would be that I would love it if the edges were a little beveled as I find them to be a tad sharp for my fingers.

Wow, finally caught up..
I think the new switch looks cool but having a lock is crucial for me
the reason I don't use my Zen as much is because the switch will not lock and I pocket all my hybrids

it locks. you just unscrew it a little bit. It is essentially the same idea as turning a locking ring.

Yea, I think the new switch idea has merit but the way most people fire their bottom firing PV's doesn't lend itself to that design. I kind of cradle the switch in my pinky and squeeze my fist. Depending on how the cutouts end up lining up when you pick it up might make it impossible to fire that way...or at the very least awkward.

Right now you can just pick up an ihy while doing something else and not look at it and just fire it. Not sure you could do that anymore with this switch as there would be some hunting for the firing position. That might get annoying.

Thanks. I'm glad there's someone that has done this. I may ask you about it sometime if/when I'm getting ready to do it, if you dont mind...

They tend to get better with break-in.
I have wicks that have been in use for months with zero maintenance. :)

so here's a question, since i'm new to the iHy and rebuildables in general: does wicking generally tend to get better or worse as you break a wick in?

I would like to have a way to know which way is down for the air hole in the dark. The tank protector somewhat helps with that, but I get confused when I use my other hand.(thats what she said)

I found out that by turning on the light I was able to. Also by licking on the top cap I managed

Ok keep in mind first off those posts where all with the old switch, but even with the old switch I have been using nipple top batteries.

Infact the only battery I have that gives me problems in it is a efest flat top 18650, even my nipple top efest haven't been an issue.

All this battery talk makes me want to push a pic, all of these red ones i bought from provape and they work in the old and new switch, 18650 18490/500 18350, do not refer to the black ones in the background they are for the provari, those are 18650 2200, they wont fit the iHy anyway
