The probably work. Are they IMR? Or MNKE?

I think most anything that is IMR-ish should work.
I have a marsfire 2200 that is too tall.
I also have a ultra fire 18650 3600 mah that is too tall which is also a flat top.

worst case you would have to leave a gap i think?

with changing the orings too I would fill the tank with some warm water and twist it till the orings break free.
then pull and twist ever so carefully

I think it really just comes down to the throw you get.
if its really small you can accidently fire it off.
mine sticks when the battery is too tall

On batteries... There are volumes in the spreadsheet in my sig (I always thank LadyStrick9 right here.) Read up. I would not use those protected Li-Ion batteries in any hybrid device.
