okay Hybreeds, I need your help. Using the Peter K method, I wrapped what appears to be a 3/4 30awg kanthal coil around a pre-made wick from good prophets, on a iHy std. On dry-burns (or basically anytime it's not soaked), it appears that the entire coil glows, so I don't think that I have any hot spots. I'm concerned because it feels like pretty much half of my hits are dry, even though I am holding the device in the air to help wicking.
Would appreciate any suggestions, I'm guessing it's an issue with wicking, but would like your expert opinions.

Ya it sounds like an issue with the wick to me. What are you using? 400?
Don't know about there pre mades but I would take a pin to it and open some passages up, sounds like wicking!

I'm still bummed but it's a new day. Some part of me felt like I deserved one and that is just wrong. If somebody wants multiples then who am I to argue with that. I'll get one next year sometime

ok I just looked up their wicks and as they are made to fit the did clone, they are awefully thin, that could be the problem
Yes, I did notice that the wick does not fill the wick hole; I'll build one and see how that works out. It is clear through top to bottom, but perhaps I am just ring let down by a wick that has too little diameter. Not sure what mesh thy are using, but I have 400 and 500 from steam monkey that I can try. Just need to go buy some butane...
ETA: and thanks for the help!!
The site says they are using 400, it doesn't say if they are using 304 or 316 ss, the 316 does do a lot better than the 304 no matter if it is the 325, 400, 500's or the 600's stuff. And if you are doing the PetarK Method, you don't need the butane, just do your juice burns after to help with wicking.
