OB, I'll gladly trade you my new switch, for a working lockable switch, that doesn't need taken apart to unlock. Are the new switches supposed to be clicky? I've taken it apart and can see where it's catching, the post on the "button" is grinding against the "plate". Good thing these have a lifetime warranty, I think I'll need a new switch in a couple of months.

First and foremost... If you are going to take the tank off, REMOVE THE TOP O-RING. I had to learn that one the hard way yesterday. I had taken the glass off a couple times without too much issue but yesterday it got hung up and I cracked it. Use one thumb and forefinger at the top tank o-ring to twist and lift and keep your other thumb and forefinger on the bottom of the glass to guide it off, making sure to not let it tilt to the sides at all.

The switch needs a battery loaded into the tube in order for it to be ready to fire. The battery will extend the switch out into the ready position. The delrin spacer stops the battery from connecting with the screw until you fire it. The newest switches will be for sale periodically through Face's main vendor and will continue to be sold until people stop buying them. Sounds like the guy you bought it off of didn't take very good care of the switch.

As far as drip tips are concerned I use the one that came with my LE, you'll get plenty of recommendations from other people here.

My dragon switch does this same thing. Don't get this guy worried, his switch is fine. :)

I bought trippies first, but I just recently got my second bully tip and I really like them! There's a link in my signature!

I had a weird first glance perception - as if it were made of flesh or pastrami or something like that -- gross!..

I remembered a short story about this man, back in the day of sail boats, who got a big bag to ferry to Jerusalem. En route, on the sea, he was drawn to check inside that bag by the delicious aromas coming out, and found it was full of pastrami. He couldn't help himself and ate some of that pastrami, then a little more, then he even sold some to others until, bit by bit, it was all gone. Once he returned from Jerusalem, he decided to just come clean to the bag's owner and offer to re-pay the cost of the pastrami... That didn't work, though, and the client was inconsolable...

Trouble was, the client's father had wanted to be buried in the Holy Land, but see, back then they had no way to get the body unspoiled all the way there.... So the son decided debone the father's corpse and make pastrami out of the flesh (as it keeps very well) and have it sent over like that...

I've had a similar problem with my HR switch after only a few days using it. Magnets seemed to help due to less pressure involved. It feels like with the magnets when you press the switch its just an up and down movement instead of the switch wanting to lean and grind like it did with the spring. :2c:

I have 2 mo left on my house payment and 2 mo left on my other car...after that I will take the money and pay off my ford. Then comes my car...2013 Shelby Gt. 500 Convertible

For some reason, I'd really like a mint condition '66 Convertible Mustang.

Did you order them from the iHy site or another place, any help on sizes would be greatly appreciated!

Oh forgot to ask one other question, but isn't my engraved "I" on the tank cover supposed to line up with my wick once its screwed on?

Not, not really. But if it's a standard you can easily make it happen with a little sand paper if it bothers you. Alternatively you can also use a clear o ring between the tank and tube if you don't want to sand.

On the new LE's the engravings on the tank and tubes line up, but the wick hole doesn't necessarily line up with the tank engraving.

Edit: If you go the sanding route, bear in mind a tiny bit of sanding will make a big difference in how far the tank cover spins around, so go very slowly. You can't add material back.

I'd love to try glass, but find most of the trippy tips hard on the eyes. I like symmetry and haven't seen it in the pics I've come across.

I have one of the older ones I believe and the "i" sits just to the left of the wick hole...

I did get them from the iHy site. Not sure on dimensions, gimme a sec let me pop one out of my switch.

Okay so the magnets are 1mm think, 13mm outer diameter, 8mm inner diameter by my measurements.

No worries, granted they are rough measurements using a ruler. I don't have calipers for more precise dimensions.

Anyone know where one could get magnets for the new style switch?

They are they same as the old style switch magnets if that helps. I popped mine out of my standard switch and threw them into my HR switch no problems.
I've been looking online and the closest I can find to my rough measurements is here Neo ceramic ring magnet holding force & tolerance specifications
Part #44608-1 they are 12.5mm OD, 7.5mm ID and 1mm thick from what I can tell. I have not used these magnets or this vendor so I cannot guarantee they will fit, but they look about right.
