I've been using Shek's batts in my Spider with no problems at all. The button does stick out a little more with them compared to an AW, but they work just fine in the Spider's locking switch. I'm kinda bummed to hear they may have problems with the new style switch I have coming. Keep us posted Uni and thanks for bringing this to my/our attention. I may have to keep the new switch on the 18350 tube for use with the AW and Efest batts, hmmm.

Ill let you know when I get home.. I have a few different sized batts.. I have the longer 2000mAh AW, the shorter 1600, and some panny 2200mAh hybrid flats..

I'd have to agree, the Panasonic CGR18650CH 2250mah nipple tops are just a hair too long. Looks like I could grind a little bit off of the postive screw or take a little from the neg. isolator, and all should be good.

Ok newbies having coil issues first problem is almost always oxidizing. Always use a half life batt on a new coil and pulse dont push the button at first.
Second- top coil too long between positive and wick. Bend it just a tiny bit if you cant tighten it.
If still having problems the 2 things that help me the most twist the wick a tiny bit and adjust other coils even it is the top one that is showing as a hot spot. Sometimes you can move the short and even everything out. Sorry just some things I have learned from people in this thread wanted to pass on. Dont give up!

Ladystrick9- here's another way to get a really good wick. This method is not posted on your info sheet. First heard about it from Pete54 over on IVC. Called the burrito method. Works really great for me
This does several things
1. can lay down the mod on it's side without flooding for a long time
2. wicks a little better for chain vaping
3. Uses less mesh material-thus faster heating of coil
4. No leaking back into the tank so the e-liquid stays the right color.
Take a length of 3mm silica, cut a piece of 400 or 500 mesh about 25 to 30 mm, roll the mesh with the silica in it very tight to fit in wick hole. do whatever coil you normally do i.e. 4/3 or 5/4 for the ohms you want and vape away.
I've also found that the 32 twisted gets gunked up way too fast causing flavor change. Using 30 IMO is the best all around.

Silica has a taste to me. Thats why I got away from carto and silica. I cannot stand the taste. I think this method takes away from having a genesis atty. My 2 cents. Also, I agree twisted gunks up. But, I will gladly take the 2 min to put on a new coil on every 3 days for the great taste it provides.
