hello all...chelseafn where and when is vapebash?
jc you need to go to Vapebash. Dont let the solo thing stop you. Im going alone but meeting friends there. Thats what you need to do. Plan on going!! You already have friends here that are going. We vapers are good people. Well most of us are. But the main thing is when you go you make friends so the next big meet youll already have friends going. Trust me if you can make it do it!! You wont be disappointed!!

Hmm well I do want to go...but I hate traveling alone, and especially hate being alone when meeting a bunch of new people. But hey maybe I need to break out of that shell and just have fun? When is it again??? And where exactly?

Not arguing with you, but I really don't understand why you think that will increase the throw

I think yer right, grinding down the center post would not increase the switch throw...............it would not decrease it either as the screw head would still be the same distance away from the battery.

spacers/washers under the screw head will absolutely shorten the throw of the switch.

it might, but keep in mind the original switch the delrin part didn't move, it was pressed into place, it has only 1 spring so using the washers would do the same as when Grruss tried to sand the delrin down and cause it to fire under it's own weight

Picked up a standard Ihy today which has the first switch on it.

Is it possible to sand down the height on this to reduce the throw?

What you would need to do is bore out (Flat) the inside of the delrin slowly(where the screw is), and sand(use fine sand paper) around the delrin (making sure to keep it's shape)...just enough to allow it to move freely in the switch housing (up and down) Then sand the bottom Of the delrin (The part that goes into the housing and sits flat always)..You will also need another spring on the top underneath the delrin(in between the now sanded delrin and housing)...this would make it like version 2. To a push pull configuration..Do not sand the contact switch post or the delrin side that makes contact with the battery insulator! This is for the (original) single spring/larger delrin switch only!!

Those who got the upgrade kit said they where unable to get the delrin out without messing it up

no, you're right... it probably wouldn't increase or decrease the throw.... i was thinking that shortening that post would make the screw farther from the battery, but it would probably make the gap between the locking rings smaller, while keeping the same throw.

washers under brass screw should work, also easy/cheap/reversible.

It will come out with a little patience...I used vise-grips going straight into the delrin and then rotate switch and delrin clockwise.. counter-clockwise about a tenth turn each way repeatedly...while pulling outward away from switch housing, The delrin does get some tool marks...But you have to sand the outer delrin barrel anyway to alwow it to move freely.Obviously it's an at your own risk DIY...but I have done it successfully and others could also...Just my 2 cents.
