I really like how they rounded the edges at the top of the battery under the eGo threads, thats where I wrap my finger around.

I keep trying to picture that in my mind...

[I hold mine microUSB input on palm...thumb opposite fire button...use index finger for fire button...]

Lol. Your way is awkward for me, and probably visa-versa.

I do this- Clench it in a fist, button facing thumb.

    - relax fist, thumb goes to button. Finger goes up ( still wrapped around PV) and kind of wraps around top of battery/ eGo ring area.

Lol, never thought about how we all hold our PV's before...

Just start at a low end setting, VW or VV, and work up in steps until it just starts to taste too hot or harsh, and back it down a step.

    You'll be fine.

    And happy :)

Lol. Or if you're like me, ya just gotta try out Full wattage just to see what it's like. :)

So, my first charging efforts on my 2 V3's- seems to take much longer on the Itaste cord plugged into a PC hub than MP4 cord plugged into wallwart??

I wouldn't worry about it. Many of us have the 1-rivet, and it's fine. Just not as mechanically strong if you drop it.

Just make sure, when you are pulling out the MicroUSB plug, (it is tight), you keep a thumb on the bottom applying counter force.

I had a 1 rivet version for months and always put my thumb on the bottom to counteract the pull. I never had issues. I PIF'ed it to a friend and in a week, he pulled the bottom out of the unit....

    Lots of unknowns here....

How much do you vape? How much do you want to spend?

Any tube mod is going to also need batteries and a charger for them, so that will up the initial cost, although over time that will pro-rate out and be cheaper.

Tube mods will also be physically bigger, which is a concern for some. Of course, vape time is quite a bit more. (I run 3000 mAh Samsungs in my SVD, which is another option in the same range as the Vamo and Sid.) That's the trade-off.

Or maybe the eGo VV3, which is similar to the Itazte VV3, except round and 1300 mAh.

Or, staying with non-replaceable battery styles, the MVP V2, if you're comfortable with the box shape. (It's a lot smaller than you'd think, comfortable in the hands - well, mine :) - and 2600 mAh.

Well my vv3.0 kit came today and I couldn't be happier! I know it is no high dollar custom mod, but for what it is I am SUPER pleased. I am using 555 State Express PG liquid from MFS and the iclear 1.6's that came with the kit and I find 8.5-9 watts is just right. I know this is nothing groundbreaking but again, at the cost of $39.99, it is almost like buying the iclear clearo's and charger getting the battery free. And as was stated by others, the Chameleon color is AWESOME, I want to paint my RC rock crawler to match it!

Excellent value for money, I will report back any issues I come up with.

I do have one question tho, I have seen it said that using it as a pass-through is detrimental to the battery's life span. Can any of you confirm or deny this?

As a side note, I am working on a project using old ecig lithium batteries to power micro sized RC cars ;-)

Understood and thank you for the great advice. Keep getting that from around here! Although, it just bothers me knowing that there is an upgrade to it that I don't have now. Still need to verify that it doesn't have those rivets when it comes in today but I'm pretty sure it does not. I'm kind of one of those guys that want my stuff the right way, the way it should be, or I just won't be happy. I just may have to send it back, order the one with the rivets, and have to wait another week or so before I can use a vv3. Really sucks guys!

Wel, one of my 2 V3's won't charge past 3.8- guess I'll be seeing how 101's customer service is.

Lol, Just put a new carto on to test OHM before using. Didn't think it put voltage to head to determine, sure does- dead carto- user error.

Nice having VW. Got a wonky 2.0 carto on that slowly going up and down the range from 2.5 up to 4.0. VW keeps up with it, until replacement.

Damn, now I'm worried about this whole 6 rivet thing. I don't think the one I ordered has that. Should I send it right back and order a different one? Are the rivets making that big of a difference?

my 1 rivet's firing button crapped out, got mushy and would stay on after i finished pressing, i assume its from being a few months old but it got super annoying. after getting my new one, the button is so much more crisp but again could be because its newer or could be due to the different design with the rivets

I have been using the iTaste VV v3 for a couple weeks and it is great. My only issue is the battery life but that is to be expected with the size of the battery. I am trying to decide if I should just get another one as a backup or look into getting a vamo v5 or smoktech sid. Any thoughts?

If you like the VV v3, but want a better battery life, grab the big brother, the MVP2, battery lasts most people at least 2 days without charging, and is only $40 at 101vape ;)

A PC hub will normally only supply 500 mA. Many wall warts will supply considerably more; up to 2000 mA in some cases.

Or maybe the eGo VV3, which is similar to the Itazte VV3, except round and 1300 mAh.
Although they have a similar girth, the eGo VV3 is considerably taller. In fact, it's just about a full inch taller than either the VV or the MVP. When you put a topper on it, it becomes quite tippy. It does have some neat features, showing you the resistance of your coil automatically as soon as you attach it as well as showing battery level all the time; however it also has a huge (IMO) flaw: The power connection is mini-USB, not micro! It seems nobody bothered to tell eGo that mini-USB was deprecated back in 2007 and everyone except the Apple fans already has a micro-USB cables everywhere, but mini-USB, not so much.
