I feel like a dope. I keep reading about it but do not understand. So baffled that im ordering some thingies to see for myself. However I still cannot picture what to do exactly. Is there a picture/video tutorial? Something to physically explain this technique?! Pretty please?

@lso, I apologize for so many posts, im not sure how to combine quotes to make one long reply.

Different strokes, folks. I tried a carto tank when I first started, and didn't like it and found it really fiddly. So I kept reading all of these posts from people who loved them and decided to give it another try. I watched the videos, read the posts, followed all the directions, and I still don't like them and find them way more complicated than clearomizers. I don't think that either one is actually better than the other. It's just a matter of whichever works best for the individual.

I agree that what works for one may not work well for another. Granted, I've only been using carto/tanks for bout 2 months now, and only IBTanked tanks, and either BOGE or SMOK prepunched cartos. That said, other than filling with more juice, I've had one carto actually die, and 3 that after a few weeks started drawing too hard for my liking, and one that started tasting bad after (I think) 3-4 days.

In the prior 3 months, I can not even count how many clearos I bought and tried, or how much gurgling, bad metallic taste, flooding, too hard to pull, and on and on - toppers that tasted good for the first tank, then went downhill from there, and so on.

For anyone, if you find stuff that you like, and works for you, by all means stick with it - the gear to the gear is the vaping - least for me the goal is actually vaping...

So i attempted to push in the center contact and I'm not sure if it is supposed to move but it definitely did not. So i was unable to try that properly. Its surprising how hard it is to find something non-conductive.

I also tried a test with the tank screwed on just until i could feel it make contact. As expected it went in to protect mode. then i backed it off by 1/4 turns untill it would fire as expected. about a full turn later it fired but it was no longer in contact with the head and so did not produce any vapor and was also loose enough that it would begin to unthread itself if it were bouncing around in my pocket.

I suppose I'll have to consider it defective and see about getting a replacement.

    Thanks for your help. :)

    Edit:

So i was able to find something rigid enough to push the pin in and do a few more tests. I have some audio gear i use to test cables and so on and using a 1/4 plug basically wired to itself (with a little rubber tip i rigged up on the end) it just shows non when i press the pin. if i take the tip off and let it contact the sides it shows 0.0.

Also tested with a small section of fire which meteres out at a low resistence and did a circuit test on it and still comes up 0.0. So I'm fairly certain its a bum unit. Most likely a short inside that shows up with a completed external circuit.

Update from about 2 weeks ago.

The vendor sent my replacement VV. They were out of stock at the time but sent it as soon as they had them back. Very pleased with the service.

Totally loving my VV. Everything my set up was missing and more. Only issue is its significantly longer than my original eGo. It tends to fall out of my pocket when i sit down. Already developed a habit to check its position when i sit lol. I'm sure I'll come up with a solution when Im feeling creative.

Now to find the perfect juice...

Got 2 V3's from 101 today. Very nice. Having the multi light button plus voltage readout on screen is a little redundant tho, lol.

Question- I'm a Boge carto-tank user, is there any difference for my vape or the battery performance if I use a 2 or 3 OHM carto?
You'll probably be better of with the 2Ω. I use 3Ω Boge on my Darwin, and they work great, but on my MVP (pretty much the same as the VV) they're rather anemic. It's because at 3Ω you'll hit the maximum output of 5v at even moderate wattage, while the Darwin goes up to 13v

I really like how they rounded the edges at the top of the battery under the eGo threads, thats where I wrap my finger around.

Finally got to charge one. Stopped at 4.1?? Maybe it was 4.1? and couldn't show it. Went down to 3.9 pretty quick.

I loved my Joye Upgrade PT's, but Really like those first few hits when just off charge ( 4.2). Too bad Joye hasn't made one that can give me 4 or 4.2 regulated all day.

If the Boge 1.6 OHM cartos I had really hit like 1.6, I would have been happy. Smok's 1.7 never ran well for me.

What's the old saying? If the deal looks to good to be true........

It is misleading. Just for that I would shy away from them.
I agree. I was going to delete my post, but I think I'll leave it up as a warning to others who may be considering ordering from them.
