By the way, running what VV reads as 1.1 ohm setup and if I chain vape enough it starts to heat up. I assume this is normal given it's probably running pretty hard, right?

I can get it a little warm some times but not hot by any means. Chain vaping it in pass through gets it a little warmer still. The last time my V1 got a more than just a little warm was the last time it vaped :(

Uh, you did say at 1.1 ohm? That's a bit low, and the high discharge rate may seriously degrade the battery life and performance.

The problem with 1.0 ohm to 1.5 ohm coils is that the unit is over firing it. The system is a variable wattage and variable voltage battery. However, like it's older sibling, the physical limitations of the device are not consistent.

For example, the circuitry can ONLY go down to 3.0 volts....MINIMUM.... Even if you are in Variable Wattage. This means that regardless of your set wattage, you will still fire a minimum of 3.0 volts. This means the device will fire almost 8.2 watts even if you have it set lower. This is a limitation of the regulation circuitry.

Another limitation of the regulation circuitry appears to be 11 watts. Once you hit 11 watts, it will not fire the battery at any higher voltage. Thus you can't set the unit to variable voltage mode in hopes to exceed 11 watts to your coil. The system will adjust voltage until 11 watts is reached and will raise voltage no more.

What other kinds of tanks do you guys use with it? I have looked at the IBtanked and plan to get one one day, but for now I'm still on clearos :) I have evods and mini protanks, looking at the aspire BDCs.

I've been using evods, pt2, mini protanks and smoktech aros on my vv3. Just got the protank aero and that is really great. Having control of the air flow is giving me much better flavor.

Anyone know what the blinking green light is for??

Every now and then, the light blinks ( about 6 times) for seemingly no reason?? Got a good Boge carto on, that vapes fine before and after the light blinks....

3.8v. battery--8.0watts--2.0 OHMs.

How long were you pushing the button? I think the blinking is the 10 sec cutoff activating.

I'll chime in on the blinking light -- your right about pushing the button too long. If you hold it down to I believe it's the 10 second cutoff (sometimes I feel it happens before 10 seconds though) it will do it or sometimes just after I take vape the light will start to go crazy. After it's done blinking you're good to go though, no big deal that I can find.

TY. I hadn't mentioned anything on that. I didn't think it was the cut-off as I only take 3-4 second vapes. Maybe just early morning head- fog. Never happened before, and happened twice now. Thought I might be missing some function of the battery...

The button is great on these- maybe lighter push than I'm used to.

And I'll chime in on the blinking quicker than 10 second issue. What I have found is that if you push the button for say 4 seconds, release, and then quickly push it again for say 6 seconds, it seems to count the two together as 10 seconds and blinks at you.

I've run into that too. Especially when I was dry burning my coils. So if you are really hitting it hard and fast it will happen. I don't know how long you have to have the button off before it resets the cutout timer, but it is possible to get it if you don't let enough time between presses....

Guess I'll just keep playing with it. Using a multimeter on the coils gives ~1.5, yet VV thinks 1.2 or 1.1. Kinda odd, and given wide spacing on coils and non-metal wick, there shouldn't be any interference in there.

Did you subtract the test lead resistance with your meter? That can add to the total value measured. Short the leads - press the tips together - and make a note of the reading. Then test your coil and subtract the lead reading from that to get the actual coil reading. (Many higher end meters have a button marked REL. If yours has that, short the leads and press it. The meter will store that reading and automatically subtract for you, until it's turned off.)

0.3 Ω is pretty typical for meter leads.

Sometimes, especially if overtightened, the positive pin will twist a little in the base, bringing part of the coil too close to the side of the housing, giving a partial short.

Hey guys - I've only been vaping for about a month now and I'm wondering if you guys take your itaste with you when you go out or if you like to take a different pv. Seeing as it's my first and only device, I'm not sure if there's some sort of carrying case or if I should purchase something alittle smaller.

    Thanks! :)

Well, these days I usually take something bigger :)

There are sheaths you can get, with lanyard, or you can use an ego style lanyard. Take the clip off, and attache the lobster clip to the right size O-ring around the VV3.

That can happen. I had it happen on my C-Twist as I use it for dry burning and wondered why it would flash and shut off with a full charge in it.

For the most part, the VV is the mod I will take in my pocket most often if I'm not going to be gone all day. In the summer, if I'm just heading out for an hour or two with shorts and a T-shirt, I will use my little pocket rig that is in my avitar . It is a 350 mah mini me with a shorty carto.

Yep I have noticed the same thing. I usually let off for a couple seconds each time between fires. The MVP2 is the same way. I also feel that it's not a full 10 seconds, maybe more like 7-8.
