We are here to help if we can. If you are using a smart phone wall wart charger now and have the green light on stick with it. I really think there was some sort of short coming from your computer USB outlet. If you vape a lot you may wish to have a backup.

Agreed.
That is part of the reason I was so dismayed.
I have 2 more v3s on the way (I really do love it). A white one from Ft and a full kit (chameleon) from High Desert Vapes.

My first itazte vv/vw v3 came from vapingme in TX.
I loved it.
Today it quit
Just quit
I was using it as a passthrough and suddently the button went to red and stayed there.
I took the charger off and put it on my phone. It is working.
I used my phone charger and plugged the v3 into a usb wall wart.
It came on red and stayed red for about 5 min then went to yellow for about 3 minutes it is now showing green while plugged into the wall wart.
Nothing ever leaked into it.
It never showed yellow before going to red on my usb port on my computer.
I am so upset and now I don't trust it no matter what happens after I take it off my phone charge.
I am just so bummed.
suggestions????
Also there is NO product code of any sort on my box.
Crap

After giving this some more thought I think I know what actually happened.

Using the device as a pass-through is really not a true pass-through. A pass-through would mean that when you fire the device it's actually not using the battery but using the current provided by the wall connection or USB connection. However, this isn't the case with the VV. When you fire the device it's still using the battery and having it plugged into a power source is only charging the battery and not providing power when you press the fire button.

This becomes obvious especially if you let your battery drain down all of the way. If the battery is completely drained and you cannot fire your device plug it into the wall or USB port and you will still not be able to fire your device until the battery regains some charge.

I think that your battery completely drained out and the device would no longer fire. Even though you had it plugged in to the USB port that connection was not providing enough electricity to keep the battery charged enough to use. I have done this once before. I was chain vaping with my device plugged into the USB port. My device was set at around 10 watts. Even with my device plugged in I was still able to drain the battery because the charge from the USB port wasn't able to keep up.

I'm beginning to think there's absolutely nothing wrong with your device at all. I would continue to use it however you feel works best for you

Thank you.
The light just went out so I will try it soon and pray it is okay.
You guys are all so helpful and I am so grateful.
P

The light went out is great news. Unplug it and start enjoying it again.

Skenzer post was dead on. You actually drained your battery. Once the battery goes below 3.2 volts the processor in it shuts the battery down. As you were vaping you were using more power then was going into your battery which is why it flashed and shut down.

My puff counter was at 203 before the battery turned yellow. How does that compare with other users. Now I do vape at 8.5 watts and that does make a difference.

BTW at the top there is a button called "Rate this Thread" If we get some good ratings this page will be visited more.

I get about 250 puffs before the red light appears, averaging 8~9 watts. The length of your inhale will make a difference too.
Shorter puffs = higher count
Longer puffs= lower count.
Sounds to me like you're experiencing average results, curious to see what others are getting

I really don't keep track now, but there was a thread asking the same question and I tested when first got my itaste, I think it was around 350 puffs at 7.5watts before mine went yellow, but now I never take any notice of the puff counter, once I see yellow I plug it in.

You are like me. I never looked at the puff counter until the other day, but when it goes yellow it goes back on the charger and my charged iTaste goes to work.

You guys are so dang smart.
I am adopting each of you!!!
All good. Working just fine. I have 2 more on their way to me to so I am going to use it and when it goes Yellow I will plug in to a usb wall wart. I surely can't afford to replace my laptop! I found a couple threads last night where some had reported trouble w/ passthroughs on the computers.
I have plenty of batteries, absolutely no need to take a chance.
unfortunately I don't care to vape on any of my eGo batts since tasting my juice on my Spinners and my iTazte.
I think I will guesstimate a 40 percent charge on them and put them in the fridge in a zip lock bag for vapeaggedon.
Thanks to each of you for being here.

Oh, and I rated the thread. I didn't even know about that!

Speedracer I see you have the silver itaste, I am planning to get the silver as my home device and then use the black one at work, I can get pretty dirty at work, hence the black for work, just wondered what do you think of the finish on the silver one, is it a matt finish or have a sheen to it?

The silver is actually what I would call a brushed stainless steel. It's not as gray as the picture looks but it's not a shiny silver either. The chameleon which is next to it in the picture is really black but in the sun it will show either red speckles or green speckles depending on how the light hits it.

Nah, keep one for just absolute "in case" and P.I.F. with the others. You will be helping another smoker off the stinkies and you can feel good that the money you spent to buy them is still being put to use. Your never going to want to go back to the low voltage regulated ego's.

Besides, in the event of vapeggedon, you are going to want a Mech. Mod. :vapor:

Oh, just because I like typing it - My white V3 is officially on order and paid for!

mine arrived a little bit ago.....how long will it have to charge the first time before I can give it a try?

Usually when you receive it and put it on the charger it might show the green light. If that is the case it should be fully charged within 2 hours or less, then the green light will go off and battery is fully charged.

do any of you charge your batteries over night....I am always afraid to leave the house or charge overnight where I can't check on it often.

It is not recommended to charge any e-cig battery overnight, a lot of people do, but as anything electrical, there is a small chance something could go wrong, with how fast they charge, don't think there is the need to charge overnight with these, pretty much 2 hour charge time to fully charged.
