I still love my VV3's, I use them the most. I must admit that I feel strange about it after doing this for 1-1/2 years and it seems the iTazte VV has become the new "starter kit" instead of the ego setups. So while I consider myself a veteran at this point, here I am - still using a "newbie" vape. I've been seeing a lot more vapers around, and they all are using mechs with cartotanks and stuff. I have all that, I just don't use it because I'm so happy with my VV3. Oh well.

I don't see that as a problem, Alisa. The important thing is to stay off cigs, yes? What you use to do that doesn't really matter.

I have several big tube mods, box mods, mechs and a lot of smaller devices - even some 1300 mAh autos, useful for when I want to vape hands free.

While the big ones get all the "press," they're not the right solution for every situation, ime. I like something smaller and on a lanyard when I'm driving, so I can just drop it if need be, and not have to hunt for it, or worry about breaking something.

Maybe it's partly due to the difference between vape to quit people and vape as hobby people? (I actually fall into both camps )

Yeah, I've tried to be a hobby person, but it hasn't "taken" with me. I rebuild my heads, but can't be bothered to do it more than once every month or two. I was getting pretty into it until I got a new job that has me working 50+ hours a week, and I just don't have the time or interest to get much further into it. I don't even use my RTA much (was starting to use it exclusively until the new job hit).

I'm with David - if it ain't broke, don't fix it :)

I have VV3s and MVP2s. They're my staples in my vaping diet. They work; they're easy to use, and I like that I can check my coil head builds (since I don't sub-ohm) with the built-in reader.... I like that they can tell me how much charge is left (unlike my Spinners)

I personally like the Smoktech UDCT (ultimate dual-coil tank). A lot will say that the UDCT is too much hassle because of the locking ring on the bottom that prevents removing the carto. But Smoktech does make other versions of the cartotank that don't have that locking ring. the best price I've seen anywhere on any of these tanks is at Vapor Kings -- $6 on all the Smoktech cartotanks!

IBtanked seems to have the best price on single-coil pre-punched cartos that I've seen anywhere.

I think we've jostled on the "locking ring" before......but, to me, the locking ring just makes things so complicated (because you have to remove the CartoTank from the Mod to refill it).

With my IBTanked it takes about 30 seconds to insert their $2.50 "Refilling Drip Tip" => slide up the tank => refill => slide tank down => replace drip tip => start vaping (leaving CartoTank attached to Mod throughout).

Nevertheless...the real reason for this post...QUESTION...have you tried the "Smoktech DCT atomizer" (shown at the bottom of your link)? Did you like it???

I've been so back and forth being a "hobbyist" or not really. I've been shopping mech mods but I don't think I really want the headache/maintenance/battery stress. eGo (for me) seems too primitive and low quality - even though it "does the job"
This is why I ended up here buying the vv. Pass through and compact but still a nice display for dialing in each vape - like my MVP. Maybe I'll go for a HANA clone at some point but I'm trying to save money by vaping, not taking on a whole new beast.

I've been through a lot of devices through the years, and I always come back to KISS. It keeps me away from cigarettes, and that's the bottom line. As long as you're satisfied with the results of your vape, that's all that counts!

Most of my APVs are sitting in a stock drawer for future use if need be.

I feel the same -- I use my vv3s around the house, because they're small and slim and they have the pass-thru, if I need it; I take 'em with me when I go out because they fit in the cupholder alongside my drink, and they go into the side pocket of my purse without having to turn them off -- I take my Sigelei with me when I go somewhere for *all day* because I can stack 2 18350s and not have to worry about battery life. I got the mech for "vapocalypse preparedness".

And I got a definitive description of "cloud chasing" from my non-smoking non-vaping husband the other day. We were in the B&M so I could taste some juices... there was a guy behind the counter with a mech, and apparently a sub-ohm, and he was blowing MASSIVE clouds, fogging up the whole damn store so it was hard for me to taste anything. Later, my husband asks me why that's necessary... I said I have no earthly idea, but some folks want to use all-VG and use dangerous coils and blow clouds that look like cool-whip. He says "Well, that's just stupid."

I concur. :D

I don't remove my cartos to refill.. I just take off the locking ring, then slide the carto down, and use a syringe to go over the edge of the carto -- simple! then slide the carto back up, replace the locking ring and driptip, and it's done. (I have no issue with removing a tank from a mod to refill, I have to do that with my kayfuns too!)

As for the "Smoktech DCT atomizer" -- uhh, no idea? I looked back at my original post, and looked at the page I linked, and still don't know what you mean.

Andria

EDIT: I think I found what you meant -- it looks kinda like a regular 510 atomizer, which I have tried, and no, I can't stand them; taste like hot metal to me. And I don't like my "regular" dripper either, my Caterpillar; the TH is so intense it almost kills me. I use it some for tasting, but really can't say I like it.
I really hate "dual coil" anything though, so I would never even try a DCT atomizer.

Glad someone posted about the vv3 with Vapor Authority. I was walking my dog in my neighborhood a couple of days ago and my vv3 must have fallen out of my pocket. :( Have retraced my steps a number of times with no luck finding it. Was pretty bummed, but at least I had my mvp2. I just don't like taking that one out with me. I had been wanting to order a backup and wanted to get one from the Nature series, but had been holding off due to being unemployed at the moment and trying to be frugal. So, when I saw the info on vapor authority I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered one. For that price and shipping I just couldn't pass on it. I don't remember who shared the info, but thanks!!!

Glad to have been able to be an enabler in a positive way!

You do get more flavor with bigger clouds in general....but there is a crossover point, where I've found you don't get enough boost in flavor to warrant the vast amount of juice you go through. I build my RDA at around .65 ohms...bigger clouds then my tanks can produce, but not huge, and I don't eat up juice TOO fast, and I also don't stress even cheaper imr batteries

This is why I decided to look into the VV v3. I love what I get from my MVP2 and would like something close to it in a smaller format. I believe after hearing from the good people here, I will be picking one of these up.

Hmm... well I agree that *some* vapor cloud is necessary for satisfaction... if I get my juice too thin with water, I notice that it's really not as satisfying, but it also doesn't give me that icky mucus in my throat, so it's a fine line.

But I made a point of observing the "cloud" produced from an actual cigarette, when I was smoking... and it's really not that thick, or that much. My thin PG clouds are roughly equivalent, and that's fine with me.

But I do think it was really rude of that guy to be doing that, as an employee, when people are trying to taste new juices. A lot of "taste" is "smell" and with that much fog in the store, it really was difficult to taste anything. I ended up getting the Halo Voodoo, but I'm still not sure about it.... think I need to add some vanilla to it, to kinda "round it out" or something...

Even with my weenie EVODs, my SO will often wave her hands as she enters the livingroom. I'll see a haze linger, but then she says, that smells so much better and I'm so proud of you for sticking with it :) (That, and I like to make the dog sneeze by blowing some of my cloud at her twitching nose :D)

I am starting to look at a more powerful mod and a dripper, just to see what the rave is about. But, my current gear WORKS, and that's the MOST IMPORTANT thing in my book :)

I too am an avid EVOD user. I have fancied up my setup a little bit with 32ga twisted wire and I opened up the airholes in the base a tad. To me it is awesome even at a measly 7.5 watts. Had a chance to be away from my vape gear for about 5 days with only liquid bottles, a vv, 2 egos, and 4 EVOD clearos and it did great.

I must say that I wished the vv had a little more battery as I found myself switching to an ego about 3/4 through the day. I may spring for a MVP or might as well make the jump to something with 20+ watts so that I can tinker with my dripper.

Funny you mention the dog... My dog used to sneeze and bark at my analogs. She even snapped one out of my hand once and got singed. Now she approaches me and my vape "cloud" and licks it from the air. IMO if it is pleasing to a dogs sensitive nose then almost anyone shouldn't be offended by the "second hand vape".

atroph, that's great! My dog sneezed at my cigarette smoke, too LOL. She's just a phreak of nature!

The VV3 battery life is a little low for me (which is why I like it when I'm near my computer - just plug it in and keep on vaping.) I have 3 MVPs now, and they're much better for longevity. For around $40, a nice solid device with very minimal hassle. My bigger tanks sit on them better than the VV3s.

I'm still window-shopping, tho.

As mentioned, I'm not going to be buying any new mods for a while... really! :D However since I got the Fallen Angel, I had realized a need for an easy way to check a battery's charge -- I don't usually keep my Sigelei telescoped all the way down to 18350 size, so that's not very convenient to check an 18350...

So I just pulled the trigger on an eFest Luc V2, with the digital readout -- outstanding price on eBay, $25.94, plus free "expedited" shipping. So now I'll be able to find out easily how much charge is left in any of my removable batteries, without having to fiddle with the Sigelei or Vamo to find out. Yippee! This also includes a car charger, so my removable batteries can be charged while out and about, a lovely feature!!!
