gotcha. I've been suspecting the microcoil method might speed up and even out the heating of the coil, but also increases the chance of dry hits.
Well.. here the pic of the wick and coil after 3 tanks of a NET... Now remember, this is after 3 tanks and the taste was falling off about 2/3rds the way through the 3rd.. Not bad considering most people only get one tank normally and less than a tank on NETs.. It IS really funky gunky though..so would still recommend changing every tank full when using NETs..

I am not familiar with NET, but that looks completely gross dude.
are you pinching the coil at all...or leaving it be like one would when building up a silica wick? besides the lack of dry hits, any drop in flavor/vapor production/TH/etc?
No.. no pinching... The flavor, vapor and TH are all improved, actually.

It looks gross but NET's are oh so good, that said that is the dirtiest NET I have ever seen.
To the OP, would you post a picture of your deck so we can judge if the juice channels are correct?
To everyone who is saying the OP isn't doing it right, you do understand they are using silica wick....how good does your Kayfun taste wicked with silica...no better than a clearomizer.
Ugh. And then there is Boba's bounty. This is after 4ml at 15 watts

Thanks both of you for the tip I pich hard, will try the no pich. What size drill bit are you using and kanthal?
Nobody has a comment about organic cotton being dangerous to vape or has that horse been beat to death. Have not read the entire thread yet if someone has.
I stopped paying attention to any of that. There's a new thing every week that's dangerous to eat. I'm sure they can find something bad for you with everything.
Is doing a normal coil where the coils are more spaced out better for Kayfun? I've been doing the micro coil thing on mine but I remember doing a normal coil my first try and it wasn't that bad. I just went to micro because I thought it would be a lot lot better and always wanted to improve it. Maybe I will try it later.
I agree, but for me, some builds just come out better than others. I think three components are necessary for a successful Kayfun build... I think the single most important thing to get right, is to determine the right thickness/length of wick material.
I use rolled cotton. Small variations in wick mean the difference between a successful/unsuccessful build. I had to play a bit with wicking to get it right. I learned that different juices require more/less wick material, depending on the viscosity of the juice.
I think coil height is the second most important thing to get right is coil- one to two mm's centered directly above the air hole is critical.
lastly- adjusting the correct air ratio. Too tight and flooding can be an issue; too loose and dry hits can be an issue...
if I get these things right, while overcoming the challenge of securing my coils with tapered post screws, I'm never disappointed. ..
FYI on the tapered post screws- I just put one full wrap around the screws and the wire stays secure. This can get a little tricky but practice makes perfect (until I can find bottoming screws)
Happy Vaping my friends!
I don't use cotton. It's full of pesticides and bleach. I prefer my old trusty silica or ekowool for my builds.
I'll take my chances with medical grade sanitized cotton over silica, Silica fibre and glass fibre are essentially synonyms, both being made of
tiny strands of silicon dioxide - glass.
Naturally grown then cleaned fabric that man has used in medicine and food prep, for hundreds of ears if not longer just sounds safer to me than either natural or chemically made fibers.
I was trying to be moderately amusing. I have a bigger chance of having issues from pesticides eating a salad than using a bag of cotton a year on vaping, without tasting glue or using a material made of tiny shards if glass.
But thank you for you concern.
