holy crap. why is that wick and coil so gunky after just 4ml and 15 watts? mine lasts a couple tanks easy looking fine (just darker) and i vape at 20 watts in a kayfun (using boba's bounty).

kayfuns are not a fad. it's a nicely designed rebuildable tank system that doesn't leak (unless built incorrectly or altitude changes). kayfuns are probably one of the easiest to build on aside from drippers with large post holes.

gennies are not a fad either. look up the high end atomizers, and a good chunk of them are gennies. the flavor of a well built genesis with mesh is unbeatable. my kayfun has been collecting dust.

don't blame the device if you cannot build them.

maybe we should all go back to the 306 atty... considering everything since then was just a "fad". :p

all you new kids are spoiled.

What's a 306 atty?

I kid. Sorta. Never used one but I do know what they are. Really, I don't think the Kayfun is a fad. They don't leak, and my coils last about two or more tank fills. That's more than many clearo coils have lasted, and the taste is much better then clearos. If I had to go back to something from before, I'd likely go back to cartotanks. In fact, if not for worrying about impending regulation and taxation, I'd likely still be using those. I'd rather buy kanthal from a hardware store and cotton from CVS then pay for items excusively used for vaping in that case.

for someone who is new to building sort of....i find the kayfun and taifun extremely easy to build on...first i built protank coil, then taifun, and kayfun

the one problem i find with the kayfun is flavor and air flow, but i don't have the air flow control on mine, the dual coil set up is my favorite set up so far....the taifun gives me better flavor

r.i.p. genny's, i'll never use that junk again, never got good flavor from those things

I used kayfuns exclusively for months; then for a taifun and wow! The flavor from those is miraculous. But. I was missing the same volume of actual vapor.
Took out the airflow tube altogether, dipped the coil to 1.4 and changed to a wide bore drip tip, solved that problem!
On my mech I set her to 0.5 ohm and it'll nock your head back. -it's now my favorite atty.

lol, just because you suck at building doesn't mean it's junk. they just have a learning curve like many things in life. sorry, but gennies are still around and are getting even better in design.

I'm 51 and I've been vaping for about 5 months now... started rebuilding PT 2's, then picked up my first KFL+ V2 from EHPRO. I build between 1.3 and 1.6 Ohms and vape around 12 to 15 watts on a VTR, SVD, and Cloupor DNA30. Phenomenal vapor, incredible flavor with 50/50 blends. The KFL+ V2 has truly changed how much I enjoy vaping.

If the KFL is a fad.... then count me in as a huge fan. I've got 3 of them now and I can't tell you how much I enjoy them. I've also got a few RDA's, a Trident V2, Magma, and Tobh and enjoy them all. But for build/wick/fill/and go... I really enjoy my KFL's hands down!

Just my 2 cents...

First thought I had though was my poor ears are gonna fall off.

I have 3 Kayfun lites now and best heads around. I have about 10 other brands that never get used. The past hour I have been vaping a Kayfun 30mm which holds 20ml of juice on a Seven22. Loving the new head, but might get a complex as my wife is laughing everytime she see me with it now. LOL

To much girth? Lmao!!
Seriously I hear ya, I've got a collection of them myself, I just couldn't vale 20ml of anything without a change in flavor in between or wick.
I use that horrid cotton stuff and I change the wick on every refill just to avoid issues. I vale some coil gunning juices but the vape is so good it's worth the extra 5 seconds to rewick to me. Then again rayon gives me a solid week of vape time before it's gotta go.
My inventory-
1 authentic JFl, 1 authentic Russian, 2 kfl black edition, 2 ehproV2s, 1 hcigat v1, 1 hcigar v2.

If It's a fad than I'm a trendy guy.

Until something comes along that is truly better than a KF (easier to build, even more reliable, better flavor and vapor and cheaper) I don't think the Kayfun will go anywhere. And it will come. There have been so many promised KF killers as of late it is just a matter of time before somebody produces something that beats the KF on all counts.

The paradigms shift all the time.

We really are just scratching the surface of the horse and buggy phase of development.

Does anyone like the Svoemesto KFL or the Russian 91% better? I just got my first KFL+ v2 from EHPro and love it -- was thinking about getting a genuine or other Kayfun incarnation for my 2nd tank. Then I keep hearing good things about Aqua clones and Fogger V4 clones.

I have both the kfl+ and Russian authentic. To me they vape virtuality the same. I wasn't a huge fan of the aqua, bit production wise but width wise, it's narrow, in weird i like my mods to be flush and the aqua leaves a step between the width of my mods and the with of the tank. The different I've not heard much bad about, in fact I've heard rave reviews.
But- if you're looking for a second tank to pair with your ehpro V2 I would go with either an authentic kfl+ or a black edition v3(not black)by artemus. The black edition givers more airflow and it's easier to fill. Put of all my kfls it's probably my favorite- even over the authentic:

I like the side mounted airflow adjustment on the R91% over the bottom mounted KFL+, I don't however like the adjustable 510 on the R91%.

I have a polished clone with side mounted airflow and no adjustable 510, best of both.

The overriding theme is some people find the KFL easy to build and others struggle. Its painfully obviously there are a million ways to build them and this is the biggest issue, there needs some sort of standard and it isn't on You-tube every build on there is different.

Cotton btw is basically cellulose and so is cigarette rolling paper. I prefer the sterilized cotton, its steamed clean.
