There are a few discussions on this site regarding the difference in the feeling between vaping and smoking. The general consensus, as I've read it, is that part of your physical addiction to cig smoking is MORE than just the addiction to nicotine; according to what I've read here, the "buzz" and instant hit/relative dizziness you get from a cigarette has something to do with a combination of some of the ~4k chemical/carcinogen components of a standard cigarette.
That's a problem. I wish I had never read about it.
The psychological hit that I took when I read about this went something like this;
"My days are stressful. Smoking helped that. Now I'm trying out vaping and I love it... yes, there is something missing--I dunno what it is--but it's acceptable considering all the benefits. Wait, they're saying I won't get a nic buzz anymore? That maybe I'll get my nic levels up high enough, slowly, to feel somewhat satisfied, but that the hit--the buzz--the diziness factor--those are gone? My problem with that is this; I can't help but believe that the very same components that caused that buzz/dizziness were also responsible for part of the calming effect of smoking. I have pity on myself during the day (I know, sounds whiny, but be realistic) so when I'm going into work I'm thinking 'Well at least I just sucked down that smoke so I know I'll be able to handle some of the typical stressors in here a little easier.' But now I wonder; how much was nicotine the issue with my smoking? After all, the gum and patch failed miserably. And I was getting plenty of nicotine there. Now, I have something in vaping that ENTIRELY replaces the "act" of smoking and it does so very convincingly, so I'm getting my nicotine, and I'm getting the full "act" of smoking, but I don't get my "buzz" anymore... that little dizziness that tells me things are going to be just fine. Where did that go? How can I make it come back somehow by adjusting the way I vape (which "juices," hardware, habits, etc) because without that buzz, I don't feel satisfied."
HELP US! How do we conquer this last obstacle!?
