Go Maxx...your campaign is still on! I think they couldn't have chosen a better tester!

You know it's just a little thing, but I've been thinking of what a nice little forum story this is. We have this guy who falls in love with a flav (Kant) and then promptly loses it when versions of the flav abound. But the kicker is that he starts a campaign, sufficiently persistent and well fought to win over more Kant-converts (like me). And now V4L (Steve) promotes Maxx to Master Kantaster, who will be both admired and analyzed by Kant-lovers around the world as he takes charge of the Kantship.

The story is just half told. The real fun awaits. You're definitely the guy for the job, Maxx, and I'm your biggest fan. You know that. If you create a non-menth Kant I can smile at, I'll vape it solo for a month in your honor. Steve's too. Good luck, guys! :D

I appreciate that Smilin wants to keep trying...and I will do my part. But reproducing a tobacco flavor aint gonna be easy. Do they even use tobacco extracts....or use something that simulates it? I don't have a clue, myself. Still comes down to Leaford and the chemist....

Damn. Thought you were on vacation, Yanks.

Nope, but that's not a bad idea. Shenzhen, maybe? :)

Didn't have the heart to chime in earlier as maxx pretty much covered it and I had prepared him with a PM that the new 30ml bottles were not what we were hoping for . . .

Also, I feel badly for Steve, Leaford and the crew: adding new flavors, trying to exactly reproduce old favorites, etc. I can't imagine so I figured let maxx do the dirty work. :D

That's about the size of it, Yanks. We have over 100 flavors, typically have at least 30-40 flavors on any given order, and it's a real challenge to keep every flavor exactly the same. And it doesn't help that the liquid manufacturer lost their flavor engineer, or that they seem to go by taste more than a recipe. We had hopes that by dealing directly with them that we could get more consistency, but it just didn't pan out that way.

But we are looking at other liquid manufacturers, including the new company formed by our current manufacturer's old engineer, and also a major producer of food flavorings, so one way or another, in the end we will get our flavors locked down.

Our goal is to have the largest variety of the best and strongest flavors, and keep them 100% consistent. We won't stop until we get that, and will do whatever it takes to achieve it.

Leaford, we know you're doing what you can, and we have plenty of amazing new flavs to keep us all going. Thanks for your tireless efforts abroad!

Now back to Kant and Maxx's quest. I just want to add an update that I decided to try the new Original Kant prem cartos, with the touch of mint. Doesn't work for me either. It's very different, has an RY4-like quality about it. The good news, for me, is that my switch back to the white-label prem Kant made me smile. If that one, or something very similar, stays around, I'll be just fine. ;)

Wasn't sure if I should post here or in the Desk Cleaning thread I started but since its about a Kant cartomizer figured here would be better.

I'm working my way through the various V4L tobacco and menthol sampler packs. I'm now on the last sampler "Tobacco Shop Sampler 2." I just vaped dry a white cartridge labeled "Kant-18." If I understand this thread correctly if I want to get liquid in this flavor I need to order 5ml bottles of Kant:
Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Kant Nobacco e-Liquid

And if I want it in 30ml bottles I'm SOL. And at some point those 5ml bottles will be all gone and never will return. I can get close to that flavor with this one though:
Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Nobacco Kant e-Liquid
but I cannot get that flavor in any cartomizer, premium or non?

Do I have this right? And the Kant Menthol 30ml bottle is the same tobacco flavor as the 30ml bottle above but with menthol added? And ditto on no cartomizer with that flavor in it?

The current premium Kant cartomizers have no juice bottle equivalent, they are orphans.

The 5ml bottles are old (classic) Kant which is also the carto in sampler #1. But sampler #1 is not a premium cartomizer....they are old design. The 30ml bottles of Kant are not in any cartos and totally different as to be an entirely new flavor.

Time for a number system:

Kant 1: Old cartos, 5ml bottles, uses name "Kant Nobacco Juice" on website
Kant 2: Premium cartos, uses name "Premium Vapor King Kant Cartomizers" on website
Kant 3: 30ml bottles, uses name "Kant Nobacco Juice (30 ml)" on website
Kant 4: 30ml bottles, original kant premium cartos, uses name "Original Kant Nobacco Juice (30 ml)" on website

All flavors are different. Kant 1 and 2 are due to be discontinued unless Leaford can pull a miracle and reproduce the flavor. Kant 3 is way off and tastes and smells like buttered popcorn. Kant 4 has menthol in it and should not be confused with the brand new Kant Menthol.

Maxx, your loss is my pain. If their strawberry, kamel, french pipe, green tea, or cowboy changed on me, i would flip. Keep a residue sample around. Tech keeps getting better and better. They release people from jail now a days due to good old police work in the past of collecting DNA when they could do nothing with it.

Just to make sure I understand (because I'm feeling really dense here)… Although the box just says "Tobacco Shop Sampler #2" on it, since I ordered this item:
Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Cartomizers Tobacco Shop Sampler Hilton Kant RY4 555 Dunhall which means this is actually a premium cartomizer? Which makes this flavor Kant2 which means no juice like it? Even though the cartomizer has a completely white label with just "Kant-18" on it?

And about Kant4… Although it has a hint of menthol in it, its the closest liquid to Kant1 in 30ml? Or its not close at all in taste?

Yes....you have premium cartos there. The Kant cartos are white and will list the strength with the name(18). It also means that it is Kant flavor 2 and there is no bottle to refill that flavor.

Kant 1 and Kant 2 (using my number system above) are close. I use Kant 1 from the 5ml bottles in used up Kant 2 cartos. That way I get the flavor I want, but get the premium carto as well. If you like Kant 2, your best bet would be to try Kant 1 in the 5ml bottles. Kant 3 and 4 are pretty far away from kant 1 and 2.....

Just a note to clarify, bsoplinger

The number system I posted, using Kant 1 through 4.....is my own system and has nothing to do with how V4L categorizes their stock. I am assigning numbers in hopes of making things clearer when helping people find what they want.

Yup I did understand and it made it much clearer. I appreciate that you answered since its somewhat confusing. But I remembered seeing this thread a week or two ago and felt you had a good handle on what all was happening with the flavor so was hoping you'd be able to set me straight.

One final parting questions. Sounds then like I'd be best off, since I like Kant from that sampler and want more, by buying a 5 pack of the premium Kant cartomizers and 5 of the 5ml bottles of Kant. I could then vape the carto (Kant2 flavor) and refill it with the liquid (Kant1). I'm assuming I could readily refill a premium cartomizer 5x since each refill seems to take around 1ml of liquid, hence the 1 pack of Kant premium cartomizers and 5 bottles of 5ml Kant. Obviously if they refill more times I'd just get more 5ml bottles :)

And I should just ignore the 30ml bottles that just happen to have the word "Kant" in them because neither tastes much like Kant1 or Kant2?

Yes....sadly....the 30ml bottles aren't doing the kant lovers much good. Neither make the cut...

Also, yes, in your case, you will want to buy Kant2, which is a premium design carto in the strength you want.

Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Cartomizers Kant - Premium

When they run dry, you can refill them with Kant1 from the 5ml bottles. However, there is a catch. These particular cartos use the hard-top design with glue-down caps. They take a little work to get the caps off for refilling. If they are too hard to remove, just use the filled condom method to refill so you don't have to take them apart. I have done it both ways and unless you plan to wash them before refilling (I don't)...you don't need to remove the caps. I generally top-off or refill a carto between 5 and 10 times...or three days (which ever comes first)....before tossing them.

I buy Kant2 at 36 strength and this works fine. Or....you can just buy premium blanks with soft-tops and use the 5ml bottle of Kant1 exclusively.

There is a way to refill the hard caps without having to loosen the glue...This tip was given to me a while back, and I've found it quite useful:

slowly drip 5 drops of juice into the battery end of the carto...cover both ends with a tissue and shake the carto pretty hard...do 5 more slow drops into the battery end and repeat the shake...do this a total of 4 times (20 drops) and you have a refilled carto :)

If you are using an auto battery, make sure you get all the juice off the battery with a tissue.

Maxx, I can't resist posting this... My dear wife, an increasingly dedicated and discerning vaper, approached me last night with her three prem flavors that she'd like me to order exclusively for her from now on: Grape, Peppermint, and Kant. The Kant choice didn't surprise me since she's been happily vapin' Kant whites for the past two months, but I'd guessed wrong.

She clarified, "No, not the whites. I want the Kant Originals, with the gray label. That's one sweet vape." I feel betrayed. :2cool:
