Scratch that. 6volts is definitely not for me. I played around with the grounding of the Lightsabre and found that I had too much resistance in my grounds. I fixed it, but wound up with having too much voltage and having that burnt taste when vaping. I had to adjust the wiring to bring it down a tad. Imagine if I made it into a 6v PV... I'd probably be coughing each time I take a hit.

Damn nice mod for your first go at one! You might want to try a higher ohm atty like 4-5 ohms and you won't get the burnt taste at 6v+ and your batteries will last longer.

Hehe... thanks!

I bought a 306 regular atty with a red translucent drip tip. Now it looks more like a lightsabre............

...with a very short and tiny "blade"!

The bad thing is, I forgot to stop by the shop that sells electronic stuff and didn't get to buy a replacement LED and a better switch... I already passed by it, but totally forgot! :(

Seeing your PhotoShop also makes me wonder. What if you could have a clearomizer of some type, perhaps with a thick walled body that would carry light well. Cap that with a clear plastic drip tip and light it with an led.

Not sure how to mount the led in a way that makes sense and transmits the light through the whole assembly. Perhaps the battery connector must be slightly recessed and the led housed just under the top cap.

My gawshhh!!! I'm really having problems with the switches I'm using for this...

Yesterday the switch failed. No amount of pressing would make it fire the atty. Changed it last night and this morning the new switch got stuck and I couldn't even press it! WTF???!!! 8-o

I really need to find a good source for switches that are the same size in terms of depth... otherwise it might not fit in the tube.

...just ranting... I'm getting so frustrated having to replace switches every so often.

Make sure you use a quick light touch when soldering any switch.

Clean the terminals well and pre-tin your wires.

I make a tight physical connection first before soldering. I make sure that even without solder, the connection is good. I then make sure to lightly solder it. Not over-exposing the switch's terminals to the heat of the gun...

...still the failures are random. You really do get what you pay for... in this case, I paid for the only switches I found that would fit in my mod.

I got so frustrated with having to replace my switches every other day so I changed it. I cannibalized some tact switches from an old RC car controller.

They look something like this:

So far, so good. No delays in firing and it appears to work better than those darn red switches I got... plus, it's sooooo small.

I haven't had the chance to permanently mount it yet... it's just wedged in the hole where the old switch used to be. So far, it's stuck there... unless of course I give it a really hard push in which case it will go inside the mod.

If this switch lasts me a week without fail, I'm gonna permanently mount it. Probably cover it with some rubber or something so it doesn't look too bad looking.

Seems somebody makes them!

I wasn't too sure about these until I saw the light sabre here.
